I was looking forward to trying this place because so many people told me it was great. However, that wasn't quite my experience. Service was incredibly slow so a late lunch turned into 3 hours. I get the whole European sit and stay awhile attitude but this was just too much. For my starter I had a Caesar salad. There was hardly any Caesar dressing on it and it tasted mostly like lemon. For my main I ordered Flounder Florentino. Both the fish & the spinach were extremely salty. We were seated near the bathroom and the dining room started to get very crowded. People bumped into us heading to the bathroom or the bar. My friends had more typical red sauce dishes and both mentioned that the sauce was overly sweet. With so many Italian places in Bayonne, this is not on my must-fo list Parking is difficult because this is a crowded area of Broadway, so remember to feed the meter. read more

This was our first time here and we loved it! We always walk past and see the bar super busy. I think they have happy hour until 6. I saw on their instagram they have 15% of food on certain days in august so we thought it would be the perfect time to go. Even without the 15% off prices are super reasonable for the quality and portions. They even have a $30 pre fixe menu during the week and until 4 on the weekends where you can get an app, main and dessert. There are a lot of freebies with the meal too. They start you off with bread, butter, olive oil and this tomato sauce that is really unique and sweet and delicious. Then during the meal they give you for free a side of either fried croquettes or green beans and carrots. We got the green beans and carrots and they were very good. Then after the meals they have us for free a shot of cognac and pineapple juice, very nice to top off the meal. The service is excellent. All the little things they think of really elevates the experience. And they show you the specials on an iPad so you can see pictures of them. Between courses they clean crumbs off the tablecloth. There is a beautiful fish tank. It's a very nice experience. The music choices where kind of interesting though, when we got there they were playing pop songs which didn't really go with the mood of the place but then they switched to classics, they also played phantom of the opera. My husband described some of the music as songs you would hear at your wake. Which sounds funny and it is, but it does make sense if you heard it. I got the fettuccine Alfredo with breaded chicken on top. The Alfredo sauce is light and not overly thick or cheesy which I liked. It was very balanced and still flavorful. Also the fettuccine is homemade fresh! And you can taste it. Very good. Lots and lots of broccoli and mushrooms in it as well. I had to take half of it home. My husband got the sea bass special which he really liked. $45 was not a bad price at all for the amount of fish on his plate. Wines are $12 a glass. It's a pretty big pour. I got the de Toledo cocktail it was $14. Very good. Smooth and a hint of sweetness. We would definitely come here again! read more

The girls and I got together to get some Italian cuisine. Our reservations was for 7pm. When I arrived I found parking on the street nearby. I walked in and was greeted and sat at my table. Our server was Jordan and he was really good and attentive. This restaurant has a great deal for a prefixed menu of an appetizer, entrée and dessert for $24 weekdays. I started out with a red sangria and it wasn't bad. I then had a glass of pinot nior which was pretty good. For my entree I got the jumbo shrimp fiorentina and that was very good. The girls really enjoyed their meals and there was plenty. My bill came to about $41. We had a good experience and I will definitely be back. read more

My grandson treated me to dinner the other night at Piccolino's and I was more than impressed with the menu. The service was the best I have ever experienced. Andy ambience was quiet, comfortable, and extremely enjoyable. Although there was a waiter who was taking care of us, not only did a couple of other waiters. Ask us if we needed anything, but the manager came over to check and see that we will being well taken care of. Jonathan Meza and DERRICK Rosario deserve high praise for their superb job. My girlfriend and I came to this restaurant on a Thursday evening, to celebrate our anniversary. Looking online in advance, we really though they had a great 3 course prefix menu. Upon arriving, we chose to sit inside, as it was a hot day. We got a table right away. The atmosphere and decor in this place was very nice. The served unlimited bread with sauce and olive oil too, which i love a place that does this. We started out our first course meal (appetizers), with mussels in white wine sauce and eggplant rollantini. We split everything we ordered, so we could try a bit of everything. I really enjoyed the mussels. They were coocked great and just tasted so good. Then for our main course, we had a chicken parm and coconut shrimp. Both meals were excellent, but the coconut shrimp was just extra amazing. This was my favorite item that we tried all evening. For dessert, we had the tiramisu and creme brulee. We've come here a few times now and have had great experiences each time! The staff are extremely professional, friendly and make great suggestions on menu options. The specials always sound fabulous and they have a pretty robust menu with all sorts of options. The dishes can easily be changed according to your preferences as well. Some of my favorites are the bruschetta, minestrone soup, shrimp scampi and chicken martini. It's a great place for a date night, family dinner or just a nice spot to eat with friends where you dont feel like your on an assembly line where your courses are rolled out in ten minute increments to get you out in under an hour. It's more personalized, they give you time and are sure to check in on you. They also offer a separate attached space for parties/ larger celebrations. Arrived for our 5:30 reservation and was seated immediately. Server brought our water. And bread that was cut much earlier in the day. Bread was served with tomato and olive marinara that was as sweet as sugar. Waiter came by to take our order and told us the specials of the day. I shared the hot antipasto and also the Mozzarella salad special. The antipasto had 2 clams 2 eggplant 2shrimp and fried calamari. All were good. The salad came on a bed of corn with a lemon cream dressing that didn't complement the mozzarella. Trying to keep it classy a sorbet intermezzo was served. For dinner I had the shrimp Fra Diablo that lacked any heat drowning in overly sweet sauce. There were 6 average size shrimp. We also had the rigatoni Bolognese sauce. Dry and tasteless. Asked the waiter to bring more sauce to moisten the dish. That's all it did. Ricotta cheese cake was the highlight of the meal. Cappuccino was barely warm. All the dishes looked pretty with edible flowers and various garnish. Wished that energy went towards better food. Service was extremely slow. Tables around us came and went. Only found out there were any when we heard another server tell another group of guests. The meals we did order were good but the portions were not representative of the prices. Hold the flowir decoration and give more food. The dessert (apple struedel) was a joke of a portion. It literally lookd like they took a operation and cut it in half. We dine at Piccolino's often. They handled adding the outdoor dining and following the guidelines of the CDC impeccably. The good is always consistent, consistently good!! They have a pre fixe menu during the week which is an abundance of food and delicious! But most importantly, the service by ALL is perfect. Jordan and Esteban (hope I spelled that correctly) are spot on. They all follow the same format in their service.
