The employees at Picasso are top-notch! They are kind, patient, helpful and they do beautiful work. It's the only frame shop I use.

We tried Picasso at the recommendation of a family friend who had a ton of expensive art framed there. We figured that if she trusted them, they had to be good. She was right! We've had several pieces framed at Picasso and the service has been outstanding. They take time to go over the job with you and recommend mats and frames that will best work with your poster, painting, etc. The service is professional and relatively quick. It isn't cheap but is a good value for the quality of work that they do. They treat you well whether you're framing a basketball poster or a fine piece of art. The shop has a real family-owned feel to it with two dogs that roam around and various family members working behind the counter. There is usually street parking available right in front of the store as well. read more

I am an artist that had a very large canvas piece stretched and framed for a client at Picasso. They were extremely helpful throughout the entire process and went the extra mile to ensure all aspects of the piece and its transfer were "picture perfect". They are an honest and trustworthy company and had peace of mind throughout the entire process. I highly recommend them as both an artist and business owner. Thank you Picasso! read more

Phenomenal work. We brought in our wedding ketubah, which I had put off getting framed because I wanted to make sure I found the very best place to bring it. Abdi is incredible; he made excellent suggestions and walked us through a variety of different framing looks. When we were ready to make our decision, he wrote up estimates for all of our options so we could clearly see what we were getting. The final result was gorgeous and brings us so much joy every time we look at it. We also brought him a second piece, which looks fabulous as well. And, in the time of Covid, everyone was masked and seen by appointment only. Highly, highly recommend for any regular or precious framing needs! read more

I always take the paintings to be framed at Picasso Gallery because of high quality framing and truely custom-oriented service. The store has a variety of frames available as well as choices of glasses including one with museum quality. They take plenty of time to know how I want to be framed and I always get what I want - 100% satisfaction!! read more

This is a superb framer -- incredibly nice and helpful, with fantastic taste and excellent options. Pricing struck me as very reasonable, and gallery owner was utterly transparent about options. I had a high-quality photograph beautifully framed with archival quality and plexiglass and could not be more pleased. In addition, they were highly sensitive to COVID, with masks, hand sanitizer, and social distancing. Wonderful! read more

We were looking for a local, but reputable place to get our Ketubah framed. There were closer options, but after reading reviews we thought Picasso Gallery seemed to fit. And we were right. They were patient in explaining all of the ways we could customize this important part of our life. They even recommended certain ways to present it at the ceremony and wrapped the matted piece careful for the ceremony. We picked it up after our honeymoon as scheduled, and it looked amazing! read more

I have been meaning to write this review since August. I had such a wonderful experience with Picasso Gallery Custom Framing! My husband and I were married in April. One of the most meaningful artifacts from our wedding is our Ketubah (Jewish marriage license). When my husband and I went to Israel, we met with the artist and commissioned a custom piece so it is extremely special to us on multiple levels. I was SO nervous about bringing it to a framer because it is one-of-a-kind and truly irreplaceable. After reading countless reviews on Yelp, I finally decided to put my trust in PGCF. As soon as I walked in the door, I knew we made the right decision. The woman we worked with paid such careful attention and was so gentle with our ketubah. She stayed with us and was patient as we hemmed and hawed plover the perfect frame and matting. She made wonderful suggestions. Then, when I mentioned we found her on Yelp, she gave us a discount! When we came back to pick up our Ketubah, it was EXACTLY as we had discussed--perfect! The man who was there that day was equally careful with our pieces (we also brought in another small piece) and, because it was raining, he offered to help us walk to the car with an umbrella. Talk about great service! I would definitely come back. Yes, custom framing is expensive, but I would only custom-frame REALLY important or special pieces, so it was worth it. Thanks, Picasso Gallery Custom Framing! read more

Great experience. Well made frames and excelled customer service. Would recommend for all your framing needs.

While there are a good number of custom framing stores in the area around Picasso Gallery, none will offer the pricing and knowledge that they provide. I have had a number of of posters, jerseys, and prints framed at this store and they do a wonderful job! Save yourself a headache and go to the best in the area first, you will not be disappointed. read more

My wife and I came here to get some wedding photos framed. We knew nothing about the process, but the person there patiently explained all the options and helped us make the right decision. The final product was beautiful, and we were given useful tips on how to best take care of the framed pieces. The prices were not cheap (I really don't know how it compares) but we felt it was well worth it. read more

Have delt with them in the past and had a possitive experience. Then I bought this deal from Living Social - Pay $60 and get a voucher for $150 worth of framing. Like I said, I've had things framed by Picasso's in the past and have been delighted. But once it was established that I was doing the voucher deal things took a turn. The price he quoted was un believable. The blatant gouging was unreal. When I questioned it the guy made all these excuses about rising prices in europe. I felt locked in because I had already spent the $60. I ended up having to pay an additional (substancial) fee beyond the $150. NEVER AGAIN! Bye-bye Picasso. read more

This is the place where they care about courtesy and quality of work. Worth exploring if you have not done that already.

My wife and I recently had a piece from the Torpedo Factory framed by Abdi. My wife K is an artist and has worked with him on framing her pieces. The Torpedo Factory piece is, after framing, perfect. Every aspect of the work, stretching the canvas, consultation on the frame choice, and then framing was done with great expertise, love, and care. read more

I recently went to the shop in tenleytown and had a great experience! The entire process was smooth and the turn around time was quick! Abdi went above and beyond to help me and the finished product was amazing! I would highly recommend this shop! read more

What a find. I had two paintings that were framed behind glass and a thick mat by the artist. I went in expecting to spend a small fortune to reframe the paintings and boy was i pleasantly surprised. The person who helped me suggested reusing the frames which saved me major $$$$ and it achieved my desired look. I will definitely return for my future framing needs. read more

Rude, uncompromising, overpriced, arrogant, disingenuous. (In automobile parlance: I was told I needed a front end alignment because of vibrations in the brake pedal.) read more

Had such a great experience with this place! Was nervous about framing our wedding ketubah because it's such an expensive and important piece of art. I looked at several places and the people here were the nicest and most professional. Also being in the store, it's such a great community institution. So many cool people coming in and out but at the same time they could see me right away on a Saturday. My ketubah came out amazing! They spent so long with me considering mattes and frames, and we chose an option to highlight the colors of my piece and display the papercut ketubah well. It truly is stunning! When I went to pick up the finished piece, I brought a wedding invitation to be framed. Well they told me they would frame it for free, and again spent a good deal of time with me picking up a matte (we chose a blue to pick up the invitation ink) and a white frame. I will be taking all my important art/momentos here. read more

I have had all my framing done by the Picasso Gallery for the last 15 years. This has ranged from one-of-a kind, irreplaceable paintings to certificates of appreciation. The owner, Abdi Poozesh, treats every item with professionalism, care, and attention to detail. He has the eye of an artist when composing the presentation of your art and the presentation frame. There is no one better to help you create a striking presentation.. He will take the time and care to be sure you are 100% satisfied to the very last detail. All of this and a great price too! read more

Picasso Gallery is our go-to for all of our custom framing -- and we have framed a LOT of things! From birth announcements and children's artwork to signed jerseys and sports memorabilia to menus and other sentimental mementos, the professionals at Picasso Gallery have done a magnificent and commendable job! We got our wedding portraits framed at Picasso in Tenleytown. They did a beautiful job! Upon walking in I was a bit intimated --- soooo many options plus it was our first "important" frame job, and you know custom framing is expensive --- but the owner put me right at ease. He took the time to show me the frame and mat options he would recommend, then he let me walk behind the counter and try out all the frames I wanted. I ended up going with one of his recommendations, but it was nice to have the time to look at all the options and to then make up my mind. I was also pleased to see that the recommended frame was a reasonable price (as far as custom framing goes) and when I asked about the YELP discounts Picasso sometimes puts on, Rogar gave me the discount that had applied at the Dupont Circle location a month before: 30% off!!! Seriously, that is above and beyond service. My portraits were ready in two weeks, they look gorgeous, and I can't wait to hang them on my walls. From now on any framing I do is going to Picasso. read more

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE, HOSPITABLE, CARING, AND COMPREHENSIVE!! I have done ALL of my framing there for the last 3 years! Each time I visit the store, the owners make me feel right at home! They always take the time to ask me how things are, and they genuinely take pride in their work! I leave feeling completely accomodated, and the work is EXCELLENT and ARTISTIC in every way! I have had countless compliments on my framed pictures, not to mention the fact that they will bring years of fond memories to myself and my family!! One day I needed a picture framed rather quickly; I realized the shop was exceptionally busy. However, the owner was determined to accomodate my request. It was a picture that represented years of hard work, and life sacrifice. The owner had no idea the gift he was helping to shape; he made someone's heart skip a beat when that person unwrapped the picture and held it in their hands. It is amazing the power of art and friendship; it has the capacity to effect countless hearts and souls in ways unimaginable!! THANK YOU, Picasso Gallery for your continuous, consistent, and thoughtful work. It is OBVIOUS that you put much heart into your work, and great soul into maintaining ties with your customers!! You are DEFINITELY unique and special!!!!! I will always remain a faithful customer, and I will continue to encourage others to visit your shop!! read more

Bought a groupon for this business and have essentially thrown that money away. The price quote was out of this world. (I buy art from around the world and frame pieces regularly.) $150 for plastic spacers for an appr. 20 X 30 frame! Just to give a sense of how expensive that is, had I bought these myself, they would cost $3.00 at Pearl Paint in Manhattan and $2.50 in Washington DC. Even with the labor mark up, I ultimately paid $22 at a different framing gallery. Picasso wanted to charge $455 for a basic wood frame that I paid about $100 for at another gallery. (Bought directly at an art store, the retail price is about $50 for the exact same size and material.) The people were nice but their price quote of about 1100 to 1400 for the size of the artwork and quality of framing materials was way overpriced. In the end, I went to a nearby gallery that had the option to frame parts of work myself for 25% of Picasso' s price quote - same framing materials including Museum Glass! Had I not framed it myself, the regular price quote was still half of the $1100 - with museum glass. (Even less than that with regular glass.) I understand the need to mark up for labor and profit but this markup was outrageous and it seemed like they assumed I didn't know anything about framing. I learned never to buy a groupon for framing and suggest getting a breakdown of the costs per item. Then shop around. There are other framing galleries in DC and nearby VA that produce excellent work at an incredibly cheaper cost. read more
