They have the best HH in north beach. A huge list of $10 dollar dishes. Food is yummy. Drinks are perfectly made. Beautiful view outside. Love coming here. And bonus they are pet friendly.

Spaghetti ai Frutti di Mare

Food was delicious and big portion which is really great! As a starter we ordered the calamari and shrimp. Wow, the calamari was soft and was delicious! For our entree we ordered the Tortellini alla panna, Alla Gorgonzola, spaghetti ai frutti di mare and Quattro Formaggi. We were not disappointed. All the sauces on the pasta and gnocchi were spot on. The pizza was incredible! It is a must try pizza. We all had a bite of it and it was so amazing. Overall we were all satisfied and very full. This place is a gem. If you're in Little Italy, stop by this place and you will not regret it. Service was also excellent. The ambiance was relaxing.

My friend and I stopped by this place while walking around San Francisco before our piano experience together. It was my first time attending a live piano concert! All in all, we just wanted to have a glass of wine and some food, and she was curious to try the pizza here. The location is really nice, close to Washington Square Park, with a view of the church and beautiful buildings all around. We sat outside, and they had outdoor heaters (which was perfect since it was a bit chilly). That made the experience very comfortable and cozy. My wine was good, though I liked my friend's wine even more. The pizza was amazing: fresh, with a crunchy crust and great flavor. I honestly don't know why this place doesn't have more good reviews. Maybe it's because when you sit outside it feels a bit more self-service, even though they still bring the food to your table. That didn't bother us at all. There's also just one restroom for everyone, but again, it wasn't an issue for us. Overall, we really enjoyed the place. If I were being very critical, I might say it's between a 4 out of 5, but because we had such a lovely experience, I'm giving it 5 stars this time.

On our quest to find good happy hour spots we ran into Piazza pellegrini. Located at the corner or Columbus Ave and Filbert St. The restaurant has two parts. There's the main restaurant in which we chose not to try this time, we wanted a chill happy hour vibe for the evening. The second part is an open space area right next to the main restaurant. It's a chill, relaxed, area. You have the option to order quick bites for happy hour or something more formal from the main restaurant. Ordering was easy, as soon as you walk into their open patio area, there's a cable car from which all orders are taken. They provide you a table number and then you get to pick ur table. Large open patio area, with space heaters. They have a few TVs around the patio to keep track of sports. The service was quick and friendly . The food was good. We definitely loved the fish tacos! Those there amazing! We had to order a second round of tacos. I also liked the pizza, it was a think crust margarita pizza with good flavor. The ambiance is what really loved. A very chill, private but still chilaxed vibe. The waiter turned on our space heater for us to enjoy being outside on a cold November day in the city. Overall, a good experience, a place I would visit with friends again.

Porchetta Sandwich (4 Stars)

I've walked by this place hundreds of times, it's right next door to my favorite North Beach parking garage (street parking in North Beach is horrible), so I finally decided to stop by. I ordered the Porchetta Sandwich (4 Stars) with salad. The French roll and pork were awesome, but they put a pesto spread that was a little over powering. Not sure if was needed, some extra juice from the pork would have been better. They serve with Arugula which was strong and then added dill pickles, nacho style pickles jalapenos on the side, why? Both didn't work. Pickled red onion would have been better and some your of Calabrian peppers hot sauce. The side salad was fresh with a decent balsamic vinaigrette.

Rigatoni Bolognese

Alright, I'm leaning towards 3.5 for the food but round to 4 for service. The key need to know is that there's better Italian food out there and skip dessert. But if you want a casual place for great conversation and even have heaters for a meal outdoors, this is the spot. Shout out to the staff for accommodating our reservation to be outdoors last minute and for the server who was on top of all the plate changing, checking in, and conversation in between. Now for the food, the ok dishes we had were calamari and bolognese rigatoni. The crab arancini was unusually large and not as exciting as I would've expected for a special. Everyone liked the bruschetta with the mushroom having a nice truffle oil kick to it. Unfortunately, the dessert didn't meet expectations, like the tiramisu was just a sponge cake with strong coffee flavor. After that we learned from the staff that the chef was French so it explains why the tiramisu wasn't as authentic as expected.

Grilled shrimp.

The grilled shrimp appetizer was excellent. Service is good. Cute spot. Not busy so beware. Clams and linguine tasted sour. The leftover sauce was grey. I should have stopped but was so hungry from walking for hours. Both my husband and I had the clams. We both had severe food poisoning for the next 24 hours. I don't think I can ever eat claims linguine again. It used to be my favorite dish.

Espresso martini

Really fun place to come with friends and have a couple of aperol spritzes! I ordered a penne alla vodka and I have to say this is 50% my fault but who puts smoked salmon in a vodka sauce? The pasta would have been out of this world if I had seen that there was smoked salmon in it and I asked to omit it. I have never in my life encountered a smoked salmon vodka pasta and I hope to never again. My espresso martini was good and strong!

Frozen espresso martini

The outside is lovely on a spring day. If it's windy, you're still protected. There was a baby shower that looked so cute going on. We had a beer and a latte. They were served in disposable cups. That wasn't so cool because food is served on real plates. The other mixed drinks are also served in glass. Also the frozen espresso martini is so yummy.

Food: 4 Service: 4 Decor: 2 Came here for a mixer and opted for some quick pasta before my concert. We were seated in the open patio outside. Fettuccine Bolognese, $24.95 Fresh fettuccine pasta with meat sauce ~Good. Pasta was cooked al dente and meat sauce was pretty flavorful. Service was fast and friendly.

Our first stop after taking the elevator up to the park level was to pause at Barebottle for a tasty summer pint ($7 for a Czech style pilsner) to sip while we walked the loop and took in the beautiful gardens and interesting design choices for the shared spaces. Service at the window was just fine. Tap-to-pay with smart phone was easy. If I'd had more time, I may have tried the flights and some of food options that include Detroit-style pizza, salads, and a few pub snacks. The bier garten seating was plentiful and I could see hanging out there on a nice afternoon to listen to music, share a drink, or play a few rounds of table games. Note that you can't take your beer out of the park, so if you're planning to ride the gondola back down, you'll need to chug it before boarding.

Thank goodness we had the pretzel, because my wife's lunch wasn't served until I had finished my lunch and we had to inquire about her order twice. Inside, though, the brewery keeps its own identity and focus. They don't offer a huge beer list, but what they do brew is very, very good. The emphasis is clearly on quality over quantity. The beers are exceptionally well balanced and thoughtfully crafted. My favorite was the dark beer Old Time Bock & Roll, a collaboration with Armistice Brewing Company. This Double Decocted Doppelbock is smooth, rich, and beautifully balanced -- a real Doppelbock in the traditional sense. Deep malt character, rounded body, structured yet easy to drink. Exactly what the style should be. The beer was served properly, at the right temperature but not in the correct glassware, by a cordial and enthusiastic staff member who clearly enjoys what they're pouring. That attention to service makes a difference. Overall, a great brewery stop in a very touristic area -- focused selection, excellent balance, and beers brewed with real respect for style. I'll definitely return for another Doppelbock.
