Called at 5:20 p.m. to place an order over the phone and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes. I arrived at 5:40 p.m., giving them even more time than expected, only to find out my order was missing. There was no explanation or apology just that they could remake it and it would take another 20 minutes. Food is delicious but these coworkers don't wear gloves, touching everything possible and still preparing your pizza. It's not fresh and ready, better more contaminated and ready. I had been here in the past and for a "cheap pizza" it's pretty decent. Stopped by to grab a pizza for my daughter to take with her to school and they had NOTHING ready. today it was not the deal was dry the cheese taste plain! Order a deep dish off the phone and the employee said it would be ready in 15 min. I get there and I see there's confusion between the employes on what their doing. They were almost going to charge me $15 for a 3 topping on a dip dish which is pathetic!  They ask me what were my topping and I told them right away and it looked like I they were going to do it. After waiting for 20 minutes the pizza has been ready and they just made me waste my time. (The reason I called was to receive my pizza freshly off the oven and not let it sit for 20 minutes) Once I got home I see 4 squares in one side and another four squares in the other side (I don't remember seeing the pizza like this before) and to top it off it was all burn and cold. So this is an updated review. Reyna, one of the managers reached out to me months ago and did the best she could to make my experience just a little better. She offered me any large pizza to make up for last time. Even tho it had been months later, she still kept her word which is amazing. The customer service from her is spot on, I still believe the guy at the front desk needs to be a bit more friendlier but I'm not his boss. The pizza was actually great! I've never tried this pizza til today and I gotta say it is very flavorful and fresh. Had a terrible experience today when I went in. I placed a phone order and the lady who took my order didn't even ask for my name and just hung the phone up, I called again to confirm my order and asked if she needed a name and asked for my total and she said she didn't need a name and she couldn't give me my total because she was "busy" later when I went in they took forever to attend me and when they finally did they had terrible customer service. It tasted like the pizza you get from Little Cesar's pizza. The garlic breadsticks were okay. Mediocre pizza. I was not impressed. My daughter enjoyed her pizza without the pepperoni. I gave up on pizza piara.... this is my story: It was a cold summer night; the wind blew through my hair lacking head as if it were a mountain in the desert and it reminded me of my long lost youth... the time when mother would take us to the only pizzeria in the city where we would mingle with other kids from the same town and would share stories of our impetuous ways... a thought mingling in my brain like a ghost trapped within the walls of a cemetery he can't escape, like a gong on a relent show it hit me! PIZZA it said! But not just any pizza... or has to be: HAM & PINEAPPLE!! Just like in my better days... So where to get it? I asked myself going deeper in to thought that I've ever been... WHERE!!! Hmmm (I though) I don't want to go far, and I don't want to pay a lot of money, because let's face it, money does not grow on trees, and even if it did why spend more than you need to to satisfy a silly craving? But I digress... where? I thought... ahaaa!!! "Pizza Piara" like with harmonic angel music in the background I though out loud!!! Let's try them! I said, close to home, cheap because they have their family specials, and when it comes to taste it can't be worst than that drive in movie pizza I had one day... so I begun my journey towards this mystic foodery and when I got there, there was nothing in my mind other than ham, pineapple, bread, cheese and tomato sauce... as I approached the person over the counter with hesitation, I proceeded to relinquish my order and said: 1 ham and pineapple pizza, please sir! With a nervous but eager tone, reminding me of Oliver Twist as he begged for more food... to my dismay, he replied: Hawaiian?... and me with almost a child like full of innocence response said: No... Mexican! The pizza shop went totally quiet! The people in that small space were looking at each other with dismay as if it was an old western movie and where the two main characters (me and the counter man) were about to duel because of a testosterone showdown... he said: NO! Ham and pineapple it's a Hawaiian, and it's MORE expensive! Confused I looked in to his piercing eyes and asked... Well, I don't want a Hawaiian pizza, I want a one topping pizza with and extra topping! He said: OK! What would you like on your pizza!... I said: a pineapple pizza, add ham! He stopped me in my tracks before I can finish my sentence and said with a stern voice: THATS A HAWAIIAN PIZZA!!.... what came next was an epic 2 hour rambling battle between two adults, one in my opinion of good looking nature and above average intelligence and the other one... weeeell... let's just say NOT so much... At the end after threats of police calling and fake bravado, and a very large line of customers that were divided on the subject, he agreed to let me have the pie of my resent dreams at a price that was to me, the righteous one, I went home ate it, was ok, realize my youth wasn't any different than anyone else's, contemplated on the existential nature of life and t he n the day was over, so that was that and I swore never to go back to this Piara Pizza place... EVER!!! It the years passed and I heard rumors that this person was not working there any longer and that pizzas and service was better blah blah blah... so I decided to find out on my own and give this pizzeria another try... carefully planning my next steps I got in my car and proceeded to the destination. When I got there there was a line of customers and I hesitated, thought to myself: maybe it's a sign! Maybe I should just get Chinese food?! It was a confusing few seconds but I said to myself: NO, we had a plan and we were going to keep it! (Talking to my self as a third person) so I swiftly got out of the car, open the glass door to the pizzeria and waited my turn... when I get to the counter I was greeted with a smile and with a sense of... home... like having a beer at Cheers where everybody knows your name... standing on the of other side of the customer employee divider was Mary Carmen with a great smile and even greater disposition... She looked at me, our eyes interlocked and she said: Hi, welcome to "Pizza Piara" what can i get you today?... nervous with sweaty palms and a crackling voice I said: one ham pizza with and extra item... that's all I can get myself to say and she asked: ok, what would your other topping be? I was petrified!!! Was this going to be a repeat of my first experience? Carefully choosing my words I said: pineapple!... my worst nightmare will come true as she responded, oh you want a Hawaiian! I can truly say Piarra Pizza located on// 8808 painter ave in the city of Whittier, Ca Is my new favorite go to pizza spot. The pizza they make is one of the most delicious hand made pizza Iv tried in a while, I enjoy the fact that there pizza is made in a timely matter, no matter if you are ordering via phone or a simple walk in you will always get it nice and warm at moment of pick up. Everytime i have phone ordered a pizza they ALWAYS GET IT WRONG AND burn my pizza . Who does that ? They do ! And the nerve they have to actually box my pizza and with a fake smile give it to me at the counter so when i get in the car i have to get back out and confront them. Worse is when i was already home and opened the box to eat and my pizza was burned hardcore to where the cheese was literally hard like a rock , the sausage shrank so small and were unrecognizable along with the pepperoni that were almost black in color.
