Contacted them for a move from Brooklyn to Port Chester via phone. My sister had emailed them initially but didn't get a reply after a few days so she asked me to call on her behalf. Spoke to a man who gave me a quote after I gave him information about the piano, pickup and drop off location. After he gave me the quote I told him I'd call him back to finalize. Called back and he told me to just email him. We exchanged emails and set the date. The move was seamless. They even brought a box filled with sheet music and books along with the delivery when we asked if they could take it with them too. That was nice of them, certainly not necessary. Overall, the experience was quick and easy and the guys were nice and the piano traveled without a single scratch or issue. I normally include the rate in which I was charged for the service but the quote will really be dependent on your particular circumstance. Our total was over $400 but included tolls and steps leading up and into the home. Sister paid them via Venmo. read more

Pianoland movers were a Godsend!!! Backstory: I had an issue with our initial piano movers, who assured us they could do the job, but proved to be unsuccessful in their attempt and had to leave our piano in the lobby of our building. I also had a very bad feeling about it and kept Pianoland in the back of my mind. I even went as far to message Alex the owner that I had my concerns with the other company the day prior to them coming out. By the way, we just moved from D.C. Luckily Pianoland movers team of professionals came in to accomplish the job the following day. They did an incredible job maneuvering my very heavy and awkward Christofori upright up 4 flights of narrow stairs into our apartment. My husband was impressed by their strength, care and strategy as he watched their progress. They were very kind and I was extremely grateful for the work they provided. It took them under 15 minutes to complete, which is very efficient for an extremely difficult task. I felt at peace and very confident during the entire process. The last two moves in comparison with my piano were stressful and caused a lot of unnecessary heartache. Never again! Pianoland obviously offers reputable specialists and experts in moving pianos. That said, get your measuring tape out and be ready to provide hard numbers. There is a mathematical method involved and they are no amateurs. They will only proceed with a clear and reliable plan before getting started, which is more than fair. The men were courteous and I would readily welcome them in my home again. AMAZING would recommend to everyone... I called in a last minute attempt to save my neighbors piano after she made a tough decision to get rid of it as her kids were all grown and no longer had much use for it. Last week, I had to deliver a Steinway grand from a storage in New Jersey to a house in Brooklyn. (I am a professional musician, and in the past few years I had moved four pianos with this company.) Apparently, the piano got damaged while in storage (they did not keep it in proper climate conditions, and also lost several small parts like the pedal supports). Before blindly moving the piano, Alex's movers insisted that the NJ storage people give them a damage report and all the documentation and also walked me through the issues on the phone. This was not something they HAD to do (after all, I just hired them to move the piano from one place to the next) but their attention actually helped prevent some serious issues down the line-- and the storage eventually retrieved the lost pieces. We moved a piano from Chicago and were told by the long-distance movers that there was no way it would fit up our narrow staircase. They just left it on the sidewalk. The movers I hired to move my piano from my dad's house weren't able to move the piano into our house so after hearing good things about Pianoland, I called them and they were excellent and very careful and were able to get the piano up our stoop. Unfortunately it turns out our piano has a screw in the back and so when they moved it into our office they accidentally scratched the wood molding on the wall but Alex, the owner, was super responsive when I alerted him and came over to assess the damage. Apparently the capital of Pianoland is crazy town. Couldn't get off the ground with this Alex dude. Lowball quote. Shady insurance practices. I gotta get the COI requirements for him (like I don't work for a living) then I have the privilege of paying HIM for the insurance he's required to carry. (Of course not stated in initial quote - I'm sure he will lie here and tell you he notified me but the truth is he added it after the fact. It was NOT mentioned in the original quote.) Besides his dishonesty trying to communicate with this guy is an unprofessional psychodrama nightmare. Good luck getting any commitment on your move date or clarity on anything else. They got the piano moving Master, Mario on their team. He moved my grand piano many times and my piano student's piano numerous time. We double checked the elevator dimension and everything before. He plans everything precisely. Pianoland's price was the lowest one I could find in NYC. They will never ask for more money after they finish like many other nasty movers. They have more than one team so scheduling is just so easy. The two guys who moved my piano, Alex and Sasha, were supermen. I mean, seriously, my jaw dropped. They moved a 500 lb. Yamaha upright down two flights of stairs in 25 minutes flat. It takes me longer to shower and shave in the morning. They thoroughly wrapped the piano in blankets. The entire move, including a 50-minute drive uptown, took less than two hours. Also, Alex and Sasha put the piano on caster cups that I had previously purchased. (Sasha is a beast: He picked up the piano by himself as Alex slid the cups underneath.) They advised me to buy felt for the bottom of my piano bench to avoid scratching my new floors. Thanks, guys! I wish I had known about Pianoland when I purchased my piano 5 years ago, because the first time I moved it, it took 3-4 guys about 90 minutes to go up two flights of stairs and they chipped the finish!
