My wife and daughters are 5'2" to 5'4" and I'm a slender 6'3" so standard sized apparel often needs tailoring to fit us well. Irene and her team at Mattucci nail it every time, even with very complicated or delicate vintage items! We've had items tailored other places (mostly while traveling) and we usually end up needing to bring them back in to Mattucci to be re-tailored better a second time around. Don't waste your time or money elsewhere - Mattucci is the best and worth every penny. :)

My friend asked how much a shot glass was, the woman working said $15. When we went to pay, she called someone to double check it was $15.... Don't give us a price if you're unsure. There are a ton of really stylish, funky, colorful artsy pieces to bring flair to your life or you! There are tons of goodies to help you communicate your vibe! Unfortunately, the checkout experience left me feeling disappointed. A couple prices being adjusted on the spot is understandable, but having tags removed and being quoted significantly higher prices felt uncomfortable and unexpected. One used purse was priced close to (or above) what I could purchase it for new at a regular retail store, and it wasn't a vintage item. It genuinely hurt to leave the items behind because I loved what I found. I just couldn't move forward with pricing that felt inconsistent. I hope the shop can work toward more transparent pricing, as it really is a lovely space with so much potential.

Riv Village, need I say more. - Stars - There are some items that might be the unique taste of who knows whom, but frankly, that crochet/fishnet/sequin look should stay in Stevie Nicks' closet and not still be sold. And thanks for gift-wrapping the "baseball" cap I bought for myself, such a sweet thing to do. Great customer service is the reason I like to patronize my local businesses. When I walk in, they know me by name. And over time, they also know which new products I'll be interested in seeing. I bought a snazzy, white & yellow Peter Grimm cap, just right for summer at the beach. They also carry Panama Jack caps, so I'm sure I'll be adding to my collection of those. Gotta keep the scorching sun off my nose! The inventory at this very cute shop is beach-y cool....appropriate for a place located a couple short blocks from the ocean. In addition to hats, they carry all kinds of clothes for men & women. I didn't have time to explore the clothing racks this time around, but that day will come for sure. Is it summer yet? My toes are screaming to hit the warm sand. LA, I love you.

Thus she can stop into any close Goodwill location, donate, and then stop into the adjoining thrift retail store to do a little shopping. That's exactly what we did on a Saturday afternoon when we were in Redondo Beach for brunch. Dropping off the clothes was simple and manual. There is a QR code to scan, to automatically generate a tax receipt for the donation. Unfortunately, the first step of creating an account via an email never worked, so gave up to try again later. Nevertheless, it was a good stop, where she bought a dress for herself and one for her mom. The store was well staffed with helpful associates. I usually peruse the used records, books, and toy section...not a great selection at this store, but probably a good thing for me personally, since I don't really have the space.

They did have an assortment of items; seasonal Halloween items, clothes, some toys, decor, books, etc and even rugs! But very limited. I see people donating all the time but there's not much in here. The peace I guess is too small to house everything. Maybe they only select a handful of goods and dump the rest. The cashier up front is not friendly. I politely asked a quick question and she said two words with a stank face. She looked annoyed and tired. No hello, or welcome, or sorry, or any acknowledgment whatsoever. She abruptly ended the conversation and I walked away. Place needs better customer service so not to scare off potential buyers. I suggest management to properly train these workers. A bunch of females in the back (I guess the sorting area) behind a big door were just laughing it up and talking so loud I could barely hear myself think. They weren't working. They just kept gossiping and talking out loud to the point you can hear it from across the other room as I walked away. It was difficult look through the items because they were cackling so loudly. 10/12/25
