Montgomery Kitchen and Bath (MKB) is an absolute gem of a company! We just completed a 20 month…read moremajor renovation to our Alexandria home. During the process we relied upon 25-30 contractors and MKB was without question the best of the best. This was not only the view of my wife and I as the owners; but also our architect, general contractor and onsite supervisor. Specifically, MKB proved to be everything a service company should be - professional, efficient, reasonable and most importantly - honest and trustworthy ... a company that respects its customers and places their interests first. Starting at the top with the president/partner (Keith Hudson) and proceeding through the ranks with CAD designers, installers, admin/logistic support personnel, etc... we found every employee to be exceptionally professional, responsive, polite and knowledgeable. As retired military officers my wife and I also had a keen appreciation for their attention to detail and sense of urgency - traits rarely found these days. Unlike some other contractors, MKB onsite personnel were also extremely sensitive to COVID protocol - adding and extra measure of comfort and safety while in our home. Keith warrants special mention - his vision, imagination and sense of space, color, design, etc... transformed an old, tired and very dated kitchen into an absolute jewel of a family space and gathering area - both aesthetically and functionally. He also transformed three bathrooms into different "themed" private spaces (retro, spa and traditional in appearance) ... all three baths completely unrecognizable vestiges of their former selves. Keith's insights into what would work and what wouldn't work constantly amazed us - leaving my wife and I continually asking ourselves "Now, why didn't I/we didn't think of that?" We also appreciated Keith not trying to "upsell" us - focusing on what was needed versus what we wanted. Just as importantly he stands behind his work. When nine cabinet doors were delivered that didn't match his standard of excellence (slight mismatch in color), Keith arranged to have them replaced at no cost. It is obvious that Keith takes pride in his work and company - and has instilled an easily recognizable "esprit de corps" within his employees. They approach their work not so much as a job... but more as a profession... a refreshing change from the norm which makes a huge difference in the end result/product. If wondering where to begin with kitchen or bath renovations, MKB is a great place to start. One will be hard pressed to find others in the field with a similar standard of excellence, work ethic or sense of service to their clients.

Alireza came by frequently to check on the work being done and I was reassured by his precision and attention to details. Then we have Leo who made the choice of every single element manageable. My brain gets overwhelmed with thousands of choices when planning a renovation so I very much appreciated Leo's quick understanding of my style aesthetic and his ability to help me put together cohesive and harmonious colors and looks. By the way, the customer is responsible for purchasing the faucets, shower heads, towel bars, and toilet paper holder. Two teams of workers did everything. Team One was made up of Jesus and Byron who took the project from demolition to completion. Team Two was made up of Celestino and Angel - the tile and grout guys. Both teams were extraordinarily hard working, conscientious and professional. Because of my condo's cut off time for contractors they had to leave at 4:30 or they would have gone on working. They cleaned up after themselves each and every day and did not leave the work area in chaos. I have no complaints; only delight in my new bathroom. Here are two photos of the highlights of the renovation. An explanation of why I was ignored for so long was not provided , but certainly heard enough of bragging about how those million dollar homeowners love them. One can only wonder what's the hidden message there. Below is my whole project experience. I hired this company because it was recommended to me by someone who had good experience with them. However I was extremely disappointed on the irresponsible actions from the contract workers after the remaining of the work trailed for more than a year. To be fair, the initial part of experience was what you can expect with any standard professional company, the crew was polite and clean after themselves. After sometime, things began to get worse. The corner counter top was cut completely off center, after repeatedly contact and request for correction, a correction was promised , however nothing happened after almost a year after numerous back and force via email, phone calls, etc . Instead of take initiative and fixing the issue, I was given a phone number, and was told to call the counter top company MYSELF and make appointments MYSELF. After many calls with a lady who clearly has communication issues and barely understand what I was saying, a guy from the counter top company came alone , with a pencil and piece of paper board. He had no idea what was the job is for, and cut the board in wrong angle again. I caught the mistake before he left my home and basically hand held him to draw correct lines on the board. I did his work, and he left, and was never heard again. Of course, after this November 2017 incidence, everything fell completely silent again. I was never contacted to have a follow up again, or even a check in "hey, have you got your new counter top yet ? " or " I have things ready for installation ". NOTHING. From November 2017 to JUNE 2018. Ironically, all the way till I left my initial YELP review. During the summer project period, the contract worker left without making the microwave function , one light switch was installed upside down, one was not installed, thought still got charged . It was stated in the contract that the paint was a certain model, however, worker showed up with a much lower grade and claimed it was the right one. Also the contractor left was two jars of the paint which should belong to me. And painted one wall with the wrong color. AFTER ONE YEAR OF THE PROJECT I'M STILL EXPECTING WORK TO BE COMPLETED --- Update - I have to pay another company to come in , and fix all the mistakes. Also the workers parked in the wrong spot while clearly been told not to. and caused $400 towing fee and still have not paid back to me.

So after deciding to save more, we reached out again when we ready and they did honor our original quote. Just to add, I had several places come out - a lot were over budget and some not, but KBR definitely was by far the best, not only did they listen to my budget and kept it under, they also provided drawings/renderings of what it would look like and we loved their vision. Our experience with them once we signed off on the project was wonderful as well. We were quoted about 3-4 weeks and it took about 4 weeks overall (however, after the 3rd week, our kitchen was all installed and were able to use it! They were just finishing up the pantry and other small details). We had a positive experience overall with the management, project manager, contractors etc. They also did call a few times after the project, to make sure everything was going alright and if there was anything that we needed to be fixed, etc. There was a counter that was uneven in one corner, so they did call the counter people and have them adjust it. I am very happy we chose them and our new kitchen looks great! It hadn't been updated since the 1970's so they totally gutted it and remodeled from scratch!

I used KBR to renovate our master bath 8 years ago. I hired them after doing research on multiple…read morecompanies and getting several quotes. I recall having a very easy time working with the project manager (Armagan), but I don't recall him being on site to do much supervision. I basically trusted the crew to do the job correctly. One of the things they did was build a custom shower for us. Right after they finished we had issues with it - specifically, the floor wasn't graded properly so water would sit on the sides. They regraded it and it was slightly better. Then within the year's warranty, they had to come back and redo some of the flooring because water was getting behind the tile and causing it to crack. After that, there weren't any obvious problems, but on occasion when there were some cracks in the grout, water would leak down to the first floor. We dealt with it by caulking and trying not spray water in one direction, but we were afraid there was just constant moisture in the floors that was creating mildew. A few months ago I touched the ceiling and my finger poked right through b/c the drywall had disintegrated. Fast forward to last week - water leaked through the ceiling again, and we had the ceilings opened to see what was happening and now we're in the midst of a major shower rebuild. Apparently they completely did the shower incorrectly. Parts of the shower did not have any Durock (apparently, there is supposed to be a layer of Durock on top of the wood followed by a rubber lining over the surfaces before you lay tile). There are portions of the shower that only had dry wall, or nothing but the wood. Also, where they did have Durock and rubber, apparently it was the wrong order (the rubber was on the wood, with the Durock on top). Also, they painted the ceiling with regular ceiling paint rather than bathroom paint, so it was peeling horribly. So we have to get that redone also. We also suspect they did some of the pipes incorrectly. The bathroom smells like sulphur at random times, and a plumber once told us they were supposed to build a pipe that releases that gas and didn't (hope it's not causing any major damage because we have no idea how to fix that problem without ripping up all the floors). It's so dispiriting to find this out years after a major remodel and all the money spent, only to now spend additional money just to fix a bad job. :(

Extremely professional workmanship, custom design to include accessibility features…read more I was hesitant to do this project (full redo of 2 bathrooms), as I was concerned about disturbing the integrity of our 1950's-built home. But as the saying goes, "happy wife, happy life," or "happy spouse, happy house." After receiving several quotes, we decided to select All Eco Design Center as our contractor due to the customization features we could select, their extensive knowledge of homes in our area, and seeing some of their previous work. We started the process by sending some inspiration pictures to Oksana (designer) and Dave (owner). Our goal for this project was to maintain the structural integrity of the house and update the bathrooms while maintaining the character of the house and incorporating accessibility features without looking too clinical. After a few design sessions, Oksana and Dave captured our design via 3D model, and proposed some recommendations. I appreciated that Dave's company is a full-service operation, with teams specializing in tile, plumbing, electrical, drywall/finishing, etc. Yuri the project manager was also very attentive and thorough. Each employee's craftsmanship showed they were invested in completing the job as if they were doing it for their own home. As no construction project goes without some minor complications, it is noteworthy that this team is accessible and timely to deal with any unexpected events, ensuring the project is completed to the customer's vision. Videos of the completed project will be attached to this review.

In fact, I was so impressed by their personable, thoughtful and accommodating approach, I had them simultaneously renovate two additional bathrooms in addition to the laundry/utility room and bathroom in the basement. I have had increasing challenges with rheumatoid arthritis and Dave Taghipour, the owner, and Oksana, the designer, listened carefully to my current obstacles in these spaces and worked with me to develop beautiful, accessible, spaces where form follows function. Their showroom has a wide variety of samples, but they are also flexible about incorporating clients' specific choices. Compared to other design/install companies in the area, they are far less costly and finished all 4 spaces within the initial timeframe they had initially quoted and kept me updated throughout the renovation. The Eco workers are very reliable, friendly and respectful of the clients' space and belongings. Not only did they cover and vent all work areas, they cleaned and tidied up every night and Eco had my house professionally cleaned at the end of the work. I could go on and on about how impressed I am with All Eco and their work, but the final pictures say it all. I love showing off my gorgeous bathrooms and laundry room, which, because All Eco put additional effort into listening and understanding my specific needs/challenges given my disabilities, has made daily use of these space worlds easier for me. And seven years later, i still smile whenever i walk into my All Eco renovated kitchen and master bath, both of which have remained easy for me to navigate despite a considerable decline in my physical function thanks to All Eco's compassionate attention to my specific needs during the design and build. Thanks to their incorporation of accessible details, i have been able to continue my passion for cooking.

The ONLY Contractor you'll ever need!…read more We used Andy Lukosik and his wife Lucia, owener/operators of TopBuilders and Cherrydale Kitchen and Bath, to design our kitchen and bathroom re-model and could not have been happier. From the first conversations we had with them, we were impressed how they listened to our requirements, then used their expertise to help us fulfill our goals. Lucia has a perfect eye for what works and what would cause problems, and we quickly learned to trust her judgement. She made several recommendations in the design stage that we had not thought of, but that completely revolutionized flow through the kitchen. Her choice on an additional set of cabinets we wished to add actually made the kitchen feel larger than the original layout. Indeed, every set of friends who visited the finished project couldn't believe how we had made the kitchen seem 25% larger without changing the overall footprint of the original kitchen. Andy and his team were fantastic. They were always on time, extremely courteous, and most importantly, ensured they made as little dust and mess as possible. They covered all the furniture, hung plastic in the doorways, and regularly used vacuums and blowers to minimize construction dust getting into the rest of the house. Most importantly, the completed the project in a timely manner, ensuring we had a functioning kitchen for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays--something we had feared we might not. As for the construction itself, we couldn't have been happier. There were simply no "cutting of corners" with this team. They take great pride in their work, and pay particular attention to even the smallest details. Andy is an on-scene supervisor, who regularly stopped in to check on the crew and provide them his expert eye. Denis, his brother-in-law, served as the on-site project manner for our projects and did much of the work himself. He's a genius with electrical, and routinely made adjustments to help ensure the kitchen functioned the way we needed it to. An extremely hard worker, Denis made sure every detail was addressed. If we had questions or concerns during the construction, he listened and then addressed each to our satisfaction--sometime with just an explanation on what comes next, and other times to making changes to the design layout at no extra cost. Finally, adhering to our agreed upon costs was an important reason we were so pleased with their work. Andy and Lucia routinely provided us several options, allowing us to remain in complete control of project costs during the design phase. Unlike many contractors, we were never surprised by escalating costs or unforeseen expenditures. In fact, the project came in under budget thanks to some of Andy's recommendations once the remodeling was underway. We were so pleased with the work they completed on our remodeled kitchen and main hall bathroom that we asked them back to install hardwood floors as we were preparing to sell our house. Not only did they agree to do the job for less than any other bid we received, they also were the only contractor who could complete the project in our tight timeline before we sold the house. Indeed, when we successfully sold our house in less than a day at a higher price than expected, it was clearly evident that we had recouped much of the money we had laid out for the projects. I would highly recommend Andy and Lucia to anyone considering a remodeling project--no matter how large or how small. Indeed, our only regret is that we moved to far away for them to do some work in our new home.
