Rico and Karen of #59 were so caring of my mother with two broken shoulders. They both transported her from the hospital to a skilled nursing and rehab center. My mother was so worried, but they put her at ease with wonderful smiles and assuring her she would be fine. If anyone needs a transport service, look no further. These are the folks and are great and caring. Thank you both so very much. read more

HORRIBLE! UNPROFESSIONAL and UNSAFE! On 3/17/22 they transported my son, who is in treatment for cancer (Ewing Sarcoma) from INOVA to Schar Cancer Center for proton therapy. While he was getting his radiation the EMTs sat in the Patient Gowned Waiting Room, which is only for patients. While they did one of them didn't wear a mask the entire time. This is in the middle of a hospital! When my son was done this EMT loaded him in the stretcher still with no mask. I asked him to put his mask on (while he was in-between tasks) and he said, "sure," but then continued to move his IV pumps, etc. with no mask for another couple minutes. Then he put it on, but under his nose, which is useless. The second we were outside he removed his mask again, and then got in the ambulance and sat down right nest to my son, still with no mask. I asked his AGAIN to put his mask on and he snapped, "What's a mask going to do?" Seriously?! We're in the middle of a pandemic. This is a health care professional? He eventually, grudgingly put the mask back on, but under his nose again. At that point I said, "The mask is supposed to cover your nose too." he muttered something I couldn't understand. For anyone who isn't familiar, chemotherapy makes the patient extremely immunocompromised, so even getting a cold is potentially catostrophic. To say nothing of COVID-19. Unbelievably unprofessional! read more

Physicians Transport Service - EMT sitting next to my 17 year-old son, who has cancer, with NO MASK. - Health & Medical Near Me - Herndon, Virginia

They are always late. For example, I was supposed to be picked up at 8 00 pm and they showed up at 200 am like that was the time they were supposed to be picking me up. Every time I have had to use them they are late with no sympathy towards my schedule. I wish that the hospitals didn't have to use them. The only plus is that their team of drivers and medics are very pleasant and professional. However, I would NEVER call them on my own. Hospitals have to, but I don't. Find someone else for your medical transport. read more

My husband arrived in the ER from his assisted living facility via 911 ambulance. Fortunately he was deemed okay later that night and the hospital ordered this medical transport back to his assisted living facility which is 7 miles away. I had no hand in calling for PTR nor was I aware until after the fact. PTR billed my primary insurance for $933 and they paid PTR $513. A pretty nice profit margin in my opinion! Then I receive a bill from PTR for the balance of $420. I called my insurance company to complain and reconsider that the hospital was in network and therefore I should not be held liable for the balance (aka "Balance Billing"). After some research I discovered this is what is "Surprise Billing" - and there is a bill in congress that will remedy this situation in 2022. Here is an excerpt in the letter/invoice from Physicians Transport: "Your insurance paid us an amount which is substantially less than the usual, customary and reasonable charges paid by most other health plans. Insurance companies often misinform its members that our charges are excessive, which is not the case; our rates are egulared by the cities and counties we serve an are calculated to provide us with enough revenue to fund the "cost of readiness" in case you need us emergently." Take this as a warning not to use this company if possible. I will make sure he is no longer transported with this company. In fact, I use MTS Transport to take him to doctor's appointments -- a 20 mile round trip transport is $194. PTR makes sure they in "out of network" for all insurances no matter which one you have. Someone at this company is making a lot of money, and I'm pretty sure it's not the workers. read more

I work for an advocacy company that assists with health insurance issues and medical billing issues. We managed to get Cigna to pay the ambulance balance in full. The subscriber was making monthly payment. The payment posted. The subscriber is due a refund. We have been calling for 90-days. No refund! Called corporate office NO RETURN CALL. Emailed corporate billing office someone named Diedre. NO RESPONSE. THIER BUISNESS OFFICE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS SUBSTANDARD AND USELESS. If you are not paying them, they simply do not care. NOONE should have to wait 90 + days for a refund read more

Hospital hurried me to get ready for transport. Was to pick me up at 3:30. Showed up at 9 p.m. Had to keep calling them for updates. Always an excuse! Do not use them! read more

CONSUMER BEWARE!!!!!! This company does NOT provide cost information at the request of the consumer. This company billed my insurance company $61 per mile driven and did not tell me what the costs would be when I asked for them because I could have driven myself instead of taking transport. When I brought this up to them - all they did was HIDE behind how my dispute should be with my insurance company - NOT WITH THEM. That is INCORRECT! I specifically asked how much it would cost me, and I was told "Don't worry about it, insurance covers it...." Insurance did cover 80% of it, but with my bill, they still left me with a huge out of pocket expense. They charged $1313.87 to be driven a whopping 21 miles. The total trip took just about 35 minutes - so in reality, their services cost around $2500 PER HOUR! That's nice work if you can bill an insurance company for it huh! I believe it's FRAUDULENT! In my case, they took a route that was 25% longer and charged additional mileage fees of approximately $61/mile. The ride was not smooth, the gurney bounced up and down the ENTIRE TRIP hurting my back. They purposely took a longer distance to accumulate more fees and when I approached them about this, they provided NO JUSTIFICATION for their actions. This company is part of the reason why health care costs are astronomical. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS TYPE OF BEHAVIOR OR THIS COMPANY - you will be screwed just as I was. I also have filed a complaint with the BBB. The BBB Decision validated my complaint and they have posted it on the Physician's Transport Service listing for the next 3 years! read more

They say they sent this to my insurance and that the final cost of 495.79 dollars was applied to my deductible. I can tell you deductible was met long before this! I went 12 miles for 191.64 dollars in "Mileage"! the other 294.15 was for me to be in the back of their transport vehicle with out needing anything other than a cot to lay on. I could have called a friend for this! THEY ARE HORRIBLE...IF YOU GET A CHANCE TO READ THIS AND SOMEONE OFFERS THEIR SERVICES...DON'T USE THEM! Call a friend...then buy them a nice dinner or 10! it's still cheaper! read more

I have never had to deal with such a poorly run billing office. They made an error in my address and instead of calling me and getting needed info they sent the account to collections. I thought I had it straightened out but they still sent the bill for our out of pocket portion to the wrong address. Luckily I got that one. I paid it. Over a week after I mailed it in I got another bill (wrong address again). I checked that my check cleared and I called them. They had no record of payment. Guy was rude but I wasn't exactly friendly. Now almost a month later I'm getting collection calls again. Called PTS and "oops we found the check. Our mistake." I guess we will see what happens. It has been 7 months of this BS. Almost $1700 to drive from Gainesville to Fairfax. Thank goodness for insurance. read more

A ridiculous charge for the service involved. Luckily my health insurance covered nearly all of their massive bill. But their billing department is absolutely the worst. They never answer the phone, hardly ever answer emails, and provide you no means to pay online. Just horrible service. read more

They are useless and abuse the system. sounds to me like I had the same experience as many others. The hospitals in the area should stop calling these idiots I was charged $1600 to go 26 miles! Of course I know it was 26 miles since it was stated on the bill. My insurance laughed at it as they should, and paid the bill for transport no insurance company in their right minds are going to pay for MILEAGE!!! I didn't receive treatment at Fairfax hospital until the next day big emergency I was also told in the ER in Haymarket they accept my insurance! seriously,.... my husband was in the ER with me and could have driven me The Prince William EMS that brought me to the first hospital did so much more for me then Physicians Transport . EMS placed my IV and gave me pain meds PTS did nothing but drive! Read the reviews of those who work there. it explains a lot. hopefully the BBB will shut them down! read more

They are terrible to deal with!!!!!!!!! Overpriced and horrible to work with while I am working with my insurance company. The owners should be ashamed of themselves! read more

This company is one of the biggest scams I have ever endured. I injured myself pretty badly and required me to use this service and they send me a bill (for a ride that takes no less than 30 minutes) close to $1000!!! They then send a claim to my insurance company and then send me a bill THAT IS TWICE THE AMOUNT! When I inquired about this the customer service agent (her name is Diane) tells me "we don't have to go to your insurance company first." UM THE HELL YOU DO!! I finally pay off this balance and then no less than a week later you send me another bill stating that I haven't paid when IT HAS ALREADY CLEARED MY ACCOUNT!!!! This company robs people out of their hard earned money when they are at their lowest and then they will treat you like you owe them.....IF I KNEW IT WAS GOING TO COST THIS MUCH TO BE IN AN AMBULANCE I WOULD HAVE HAD A FRIEND STRAP ME INTO HIS CAR AND HAD THAT PERSON DRIVE ME TO THE HOSPITAL!!! I will never ride in one of their ambulances again and I will spread the word that if there is an ambulance with "Physicians Transport Service" do not get in it because the could care less about your self preservation; they only care if they get paid! read more
