I hired this taxi to take me For a two and a half mile ride. in that first got in the car. I noticed it was dirty. The seats were shredded and lousy and uncomfortable. I noticed that the driver didn't have any kind of professional equipment. He had a little cell phone, which he kept neatly tucked away on the left side of his body, where I couldn't see it. I noticed he wanted $6 just to enter the cab. as I leaned forward and look this. see what the cell phone said. The guy was nasty,barely speak English. and smelled of B. O. and Bad Cologne. Every time I tried to look at his. cell phone, which he used as a Cash box. He kept moving the phone where I couldn't see it When I asked him what was going on, also, and he could not speak a word of English. but I, but he knew I was going so he could speak English. He tried to charge me $25. But when I got to my destination. he's. phone /cash box didn't work. After haggling with him, I gave him like $16 which was more than enough. and walked away that. ended one of the worst business experiences I've ever had and I'm 68 years old. I wouldn't recommend this lousy outfit to my Worst. enemy.These dudes are snakes. I just wish I could rate it minus 5 stars. read more

Ugh. Taxi Taxi serves as the dispatcher for cab companies in Prince George's County, such as Silver Cab of P.G. I recently went online to make a reservation for a pick up about an hour later. The form was simple enough and I received a confirmation email stating that my reservation had been received and that a representative would call to confirm shortly. Never received a call and of course, no taxi showed up. I ended up hiking to the nearest metro station, heavy bag and all, instead of dealing with the hassle of trying to get a taxi from these clowns. read more

I would NEVER use them again. They use contractor taxi cab drivers and there is absolutely no accountability. I accidentally left my wallet on the back seat. When I called, driver was not working so they couldn't reach him. I called back next day same time as driver pickup as recommended.... put on terminal hold then it disconnected me. Called back, after a long wait, they gave me to a manager who said she would call him and she would call me right back. She never called me back (it is now 6 hours later). Called back after 2 hours, took a long time to finally get someone to connect me to a manager "who would help"... all I got was a voice mail message... I left a message. No answer an hour later, so I called again, and again just got a voice mail. I called again, begged to talk to a person... manager told me the driver was not working and they had no idea when he would work again since he is a contractor. He recommended that I just keep calling back. I'll call again tomorrow, but dread the run around and expect to never get back my wallet. read more

I've used them twice. Excellent service - believe it or not! I was put off by all the negative views but didn't find any taxi service that covered Hyattsville. I travel a lot overseas for work and don't like to leave my car at the airport or pay the big parking bill. So, I winged it and tried Taxi Taxi in January 2016. And, then I tried them again in February. Excellent. Everything went off well without a hitch. Well... I do have to agree with the other reviewers that the dispatchers are horrible. Those women have bad attitudes. They don't want to answer your questions and snap at you when you call back to get an updated ITA. And the cabs are a little run down. But, the drivers are courteous, polite, careful, and great drivers. I've enjoyed both trips to the airport (Dulles) with them. P.S. They are completely unaware of their bad reviews on Yelp read more

Stick with Uber. Called the night before for a cab to the airport and five minutes after they were supposed to arrive, I call and find out no one had even been dispatched. Who requests a specific time ahead of time for the uncertainty of maybe having a cab and maybe not? I will never call again. If there are no Uber cars available I'll drive myself. I guess you need to reserve a pickup time a half hour before you need to actually leave but that shouldn't be the case. Now I'm going to be late to the airport. No, just no. read more

It's been well over an hour, and I'm still waiting on a taxi. I've called three times, and Taxi Taxi is aware of my calls (they remembered my address). The dispatcher that answered the phone said that another taxi would be sent out twice, and quoted a 15 minute wait both times. I'm still here in the snow waiting for a cab. read more

Worst taxi service ever. Called for a taxi for 5. First off, the dispatcher kept cutting me off on the phone. Then he finally said someone would be on their way. 30 min later I called back and the dispatcher never put in the system that we needed a taxi. The new dispatcher was just as rude and didn't annunciate. Said I can call back in 10 min to find out how long it will be. This is not the right way to run a business. Steer clear of Independent PG taxi 1045. There is no place to yelp about independent taxis, but because taxi_taxi is a general dispatcher and could conceivably send this scammer to your house, I'm leaving this review here. Yesterday I took an Independent P.G. taxi from DCA to downtown Silver Spring. We went via 495. I travel once a month for work so I go to/from DCA very frequently. I have never ever paid more than $45 one WAY, MAXIMUM. Yesterday, Independent P.G. taxi 1045 charged me $73. This is outrageous. I told this to the driver and he claimed it was because we took 495. I explained that we either go through Rock Creek if traveling during hours of heavy traffic or via 495 during light traffic hours and the price difference has always been negligible. I am very disappointed in this experience and in the future, I will avoid taking any P.G. taxi from DCA. read more

Not horrible, but not what I expect. I scheduled an early morning pick-up the night before, and the driver was 5 minutes late. When I got in the car, he told me that his credit card machine was broken, and that I needed to pay cash (even though I confirmed when booking that I would be paying with credit). He offered to drive me to an ATM, which I refused--way too pushy about a woman taking out cash at an ATM in the dark at 4 am. He then relented and said that credit card would be accepted. The drive itself was fine; I got to my destination faster than expected. Then, when it came time to pay, he tacked on an additional few dollars (approx 10%) saying that the company passed the fee on to him, and so he passed it on to his fares. I had already read the reviews of this company but i was desperate and the other company i called was also a FAIL . I called and the woman who answered .... you could tell just didn't care . She seemed like i was bothering her , trying to get me off the phone as quick as she could . She said it would take 10-20 minutes by the 25th , i just went ahead and got on the metro and just ate the being a hour a half late . I really doubt they showed up honestly . read more

Horrible service. I called the day before and reserved a taxi for 0130. At 0115, I called to make sure that my reservation was booked and I was told it was there. When I didn't see anyone at 0137, I called and was told that they were looking for a driver. The dispatcher then yelled at me and told me that I should have given adequate notice so they could have plenty of time. This was a military flight and if I didn't get on it I would have been stuck here for 4 more days. I'll never use this service again. read more

Had to get a taxi yesterday to take my elderly Aunt to a doctors appt.Called taxi taxi ,college park which I have useful previously and all was good.This time was awful.He watched me struggle to get her in the backseat .She just has a knee replacement.Finally go in and he never greeted us.I told him where to go and for the first half of the ride he was talking and listening to either a friend or girlfriend on his phone on speaker.All in another language.Then finally when he hung up he said he forgot to turn on the meter.So he insisted on $20.00.Very unprofessional and feeling uncomfortable for the ride.I don't think it's the company but that employee was awful.I will be thinking twice before calling taxi taxi again. read more

Can I give a half star? I called this company to inquire about how the taxi service operates. I didn't know that Taxi Taxi, Inc. is basically a designated business that dispatches most of the cab franchises (Silver, Diamond, Yellow & V.I.P) in Prince George's County, Maryland. In my communication with this company, the dispatchers and the supervisor were very crass in their tone and responses. They gave me one-word, flat answers, were rude, impatient, and presumptuous in addressing my questions and concerns. The dispatchers and the supervisor lack etiquette in how to appropriately communicate with customers on varying levels and under different circumstances. Having a big service account with PG County has apparently placed this business in the position of really not having to care (one way or the other) about proper customer service -- and it shows! Very, very disappointing experience. I would refrain from using this service, if at all possible. Taxi Taxi -- Please review your approach to customer service -- a little bit of courtesy, helpfulness, and diplomacy can go a long, long way -- customers simply want to be ensured that their concerns are being heard and that their problems are being properly addressed. read more

Horrible, rude service. We have scheduled a pickup for a visitor to the University of Maryland. They showed up 1 hour late and the visitor missed her train. When the company was contacted about the issue and asked that we be reimbursed the manager said that it was not his problem and hung up. Lastly the driver was not informed about the prepaid arrangement and he refused to contact Taxi, Taxi for the information we provided them. read more
