The caregivers were fine, considering the state my parents were in, and the only reason they're not getting 1 star. The company itself was very unorganized. I had to call multiple times to talk to someone, and even then, got her voicemail more than I actually talked to her. They also changed the daily rate, based on memory. I told them it was $100 less than what they had said, and she said "Mmmmmm no...." When one caregiver left, there was no follow-up, no bringing in someone else to replace her. Just. Sadly we only benefited from the wonderful aides at NurtureCare for a month until my father's passing. But we were very pleased with the quality of care they provided in his final days. A special shout-out to Veronica and Jemileh, two women who provided round-the-clock care until his death. They taught us many good tips for his care (bathing, transfer, etc.) and were very patient with him and his memory loss. Dad had a terminal condition and wanted to die peacefully at home. NurtureCare helped us do that. Veronica stayed with my father until his final breath, telling us what to expect next with Dad and with the funeral home and EMS. She was more helpful than any of medical care organizations we were dealing with. We will miss seeing them on a daily basis. read more

The carer was supposed to drive my husband in our car but it turned out he did not drive and we ended up paying for Ubers. The carer also spent most of the time talking on his cell phone. I was out of the country when this happened so could do nothing about the bad service. read more

My elderly mother had Nurturecare aides for 20 months, 24/7. Two of the aides managed 12-hour shifts for almost all of those months, and the care they gave my mother undoubtedly extended her life and improved her quality of life more than I would ever have dreamed. We occasionally also used substitute caregivers from Nurturecare and found them to be well screened and competent. My mother had Parkinson's disease, among other things, and was 92 when she died, so caring for her was quite a challenge. Thanks to these amazing caregivers, my mother never had a bad fall, and she was clean and safe to the end. Most importantly, she was happy. The Nurturecare aides were her best buddies, day in and day out, helping her with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) as well as special things like choosing a wardrobe and accessories each day, and getting her hair and nails done. My mom looked BETTER her last couple of years than she had earlier because she had forgotten to do these little things, or was no longer able to. With her aides' help, she could return to her normal, younger standards for her appearance. Most importantly, Nurturecare made it possible for ME to have a life. I slept better knowing my mom was so well cared for, and that I didn't have to run over to see her and be sure she was OK. Our Nurturecare aides were with us to the very end -- and they also came to my mom's funeral events, all three of them. They're family now, and we will never forget that they made my mother's last months safe, clean, and happy. read more

Thank you for providing the best staff for my mother's care. The CNAs that came were especially perfect for my mom. They kept her safe and clean and comfortable. They understood her weird sense of sarcasm and joking right away and went along with it to make her feel at ease. They both communicated very well with me and other members of my family giving us reassurance that mom was being looked after well and correctly. They were both sweet, loving, caring and very competent. I could not recommend them more highly. We actually will miss them but we know their new clients will be getting the best of care. It is not easy to find decent "at home" senior care. Before finding NurtureCare, we had some truly awful experiences with other supposedly reputable companies. Let me tell you that NurtureCare was outstanding from the minute I contacted them on an emergency basis for overnight care for my very ill elderly mother. When I called NurtureCare I was quite frantic but the office manager calmed me down and had a caregiver on the way within a few hours. The office staff is respectful, caring, understanding and supportive. I think they really "get" that they must earn the trust of their clients. Additionally, they go above and beyond to find the right fit for your family's specific needs and personality...if an aid for some reason does not meet ALL expectations, they will find another aid immediately. They seem to have a large roster of caregivers so the odds are you will certainly find the right fit. Overall, the quality of the NurtureCare aides is way above the other senior care companies I've tried in the past. We have an outstanding regular caregiver now without whom, we simply could not function. She has become like a family member to us. I feel absolutely safe leaving both my parents in her capable and experienced hands. Our substitutes and weekend aids have also been excellent. As an added bonus, there are no contracts or minimum hours with NurtureCare. You determine the schedule and you can increase or reduce it at any time as your needs change. This company is the best there is in my opinion. I am so glad I found them!! I can finally sleep at night knowing my elderly parents are well taken care of, and that is truly priceless. read more

The team at NutureCare is the best you can get for a loved one that needs a bit of extra help or assistance. My elderly aunt was cared for by members of the NutureCare team for over two years on a round the clock schedule. One of the many special processes are that NurtureCare ensures that the care givers remain the same so that your loved one gets used to the personality and mannerisms of each care giver to make their care just that more special and help ensure your love one gets use to a normal type rhythm of daily life. They offer many levels of care to help you with your needs. Her care givers would call me periodically if I had not stopped by to keep me informed of any news or how her days were going. Each care giver was kind-thoughtful-concerned-and gave her everything she needed when she needed it. I need not write the level of trust that is needed to have a loved one cared for by someone other than yourself or another family member ----I quickly developed and learned to appreciate the trust I had with the NutureCare Staff -- I was totally comfortable with knowing they were there with her and she was in the best hands and level of care possible. Their front office is wonderful - billing is smooth and quite easy to navigate - I strongly suggest that you give them a call if you are in need of or considering extra care for a loved one --- Ms. Julie Black (front office) is wonderful to talk to and will help you through the process and the services that are available to you.
