The lacrosse ball exercise he gave me for my back that I followed to a tee, caused me devastating harm and injuries. Since that day, 15 months ago, my back is in excruciating pain and can't heal. Also, after that exercise, I have difficulty standing and sitting. There is no more such a thing as a good night sleep in my vocabulary because laying down hurts - hurts a lot. I feel like I am half-human now. I have been seeing many Alberta Health practitioners since and no one can understand what is happening and how to help me recover. The one message that I received from Alberta Health rehabilitation professionals is clear - first of all, I should've never been given such an exercise considering my condition and secondly, if given such an exercise, it should be started in standing by the wall position and just for some 20 seconds. Pain clinic's Kinesiologist couldn't believe what happened. He said that everything over a minute of lacrosse ball is for professional athletes, who compete, in the best shape of heir lives and with years of practice. Another spine doctor, with 44 years of experience, said that considering my condition, this would be 'the worst idea he can imagine to be suggested.' When I came back to Peak Health & Performance to address this with Logan Gerwing, while I was waiting in a hallway, he passed me multiple times as I don't exist and am a piece of furniture. It looked that he knew, from my message left for him with a front desk, that he caused me harm and tried to completely ignore my presence while I was waiting, until I just had no choice as to step in front of him to make my appearance as obvious as it couldn't as it can be. Team leader, Evan Durnin was present that day also, and didn't make any effort to step in. I was shocked! During my long career in management, as soon as there was a customer service concern, I would always jump in to help assist my staff member and make sure that I have the issue resolved. The worst part is that I already was legs-down paralyzed once in my lifetime and fought back to a complete recovery. Since then, I valued my health so much that I had no bad habits and no contact sports, and my family and my community is shocked that my life was ruined by medical professional! My father requires a heart surgery and my mother-in-law needs treatment for her not to lose her legs. I was up for a promotion after working hard for last 16 years and, now instead of having a chance to save my relatives lives, being able to support their treatments, I am off-work, at my worst health and financial situation ever, after stepping into Logan Gerwing's office. It looks that the only help I can get now is from a place like a Mayo clinic that I can't afford and will have to launch a GodFundMe campaign to support my trip. In this case I will have to let millions of my social media viewers aware of my situation and this experience. My family and community is shocked from seeing how harmful chiropractic can be and how one visit can ruin lives of the whole family! They don't try and hook you into as many appointments as possible like some practices do. They want to make you better, not make you spend stupid amounts of money. I was told by my friend that it was tough to get into see her, but when I called it was only a week wait. So that seemed like a good start to me! The receptionist sent me a 16 page client information form to fill out. It felt like I was writing a book about my life, everything from dental work to what my fears are! It was definitely the most in depth form I have or probably will ever fill out! I faxed it back to the office so that the Dr. had time to review it before our appointment. Finding the office was a bit difficult, the sign is hard to see. So I ended up parking a couple blocks away and walking to find it. There is a parking lot for the building, which I recommend using. The office is nice and dim, I felt very relaxed sitting in the waiting room. They have a little play area for kids. There is also lots of information around about the therapies they do at the clinic. You can even sign out some of the books they have. It was very quiet when I was there, I'm pretty sure I was the only patient. Dr. Gaul is very friendly, she introduced herself and we went into her office to chat. We talked for about an hour, going over my forms. At the end she seemed pretty confident she knew what the issues where and explained to me what she thought. She took me into another room to do an autonomic response test, which I can't really explain. She was testing the response of my organs, pretty much. After the test she talked with me about the recommended treatment and plan for the next 4 months. I can not say enough about how nice it was to have someone listen to me, I didn't feel like I was crazy for not having a physical illness causing my problems! I felt so comfortable with Dr. Gaul, she was very conversational! As a follow up I returned after my 4 months and my fatigue was still an issue. I had improvement in other areas of my health so I knew something was working. She did another test on me, this time related to emotional storage. She told me that she had never seen so many conflicting issues on all levels as I had. That kinda threw me for a loop! She chatted with me a bit, explaining what that meant and perhaps why I would have that going on. It began to make sense to me. She started me on a homeopathic treatment, layer by layer. She again seemed confident that we would sort things out soon. I have started the treatment and have been on it for 2.5 months now. It was a rough start, I was an emotional wreck for a few weeks, but I can honestly say that I feel better! I do really feel that after 4 years I am on the right track! All thanks to Dr. Gaul! The appointments are quite pricey, almost $300 for the initial visit, so this is an investment in ones health. Its not like you go back every month, so in retrospect it isn't bad. The supplements and homeopathic remedies are another expense, approx $50-75 a month for me, which I know could be worse.
