Phyllis is wonderful. I purchased some amazing heavy-duty curtains at the West Elm Outlet, unfortunately they were not the same size. I called Phyllis and asked her to hem them to the same length. She said she could and to drop them off. As other reviewers noted, Phyllis works out of a studio next to her home. The address listed is to her home and is rather easy to find. I arrived and she was outside and greeted me. I showed her the curtains and she took my name and number. She said she would call me when they were done and provide a cost at that time. The price for the alterations was very reasonable and made my West Elm purchase 100% worth it! The curtains are hanging in my office and they are just the right length. After reading reviews on Yelp, I decided to choose Phyllis's Alterations to tailor my suit for my wedding. A lady pinned my pants to my liking and I left with confidence that I would have perfectly tailored pants when I picked them up. Much to my dismay, I went to pick them up and whoever tailored them messed up the crease of the pants completely, cut up parts of the inseam, didn't clean up the hem at all, and left me with what I would describe as "Parachute Pants." With a month left before my wedding, I had to drive two hours to find someone to clean up the atrocity of a tailoring job that Phyllis' Alterations left me with. I needed a couple dresses altered since I'm a shortie and wanted to look fabulous for my graduation ceremony. Out of the three places in the area I called, she was the only one who was willing to nice enough to give me a good breakdown of the cost and the options I had. The place was a little hard to find, and I accidentally drove past it. She works at a small office next to her home, so you're basically in the residential area with a lot of greenery and trees between each house. I don't think there were any signs either. Just a lot of pretty flowery windmills in the front. But for two formal dresses, (and I had them both shortened and the straps taken in), cost me only $52. Crazy good deal, considering all the other tailors in the area quoted me at least twice the price! Highly recommend her. She accepts cash only. read more

This woman was a godsend! I am getting married in December and I had purchased my dress from a clearance sale at David's Bridal. When I talked to them about alterations, the woman in the store quoted me between $250 - $400. WHAT?!? I only paid $200 for the dress and all I wanted was the train removed and the dress shortened. I walked out so defeated. But then came Phyllis. She shortened the straps (which were gauze type material with embroidery!!! Not easy!!), removed the 2ft train, and shortened the dress. She also clipped the underneath poof stuff that scratched my legs. IT WAS PERFECT! She works out of her home so don't expect a retail store front. BUT, she charged me $210 for everything. And her work is just... you can't even tell she changed the straps. She's just amazing. read more

She was very nice and great price. Thanks to a previous review I was able to find the location; it is in a building/ small trailer next to her house. The house has a front porch and lots of landscaping. I had one maxi dress to be shortened in length and she only charged me $12! I will definitely be going back next time I need another alteration. read more
