The address listed is to her home and is rather easy to find. I arrived and she was outside and greeted me. I showed her the curtains and she took my name and number. She said she would call me when they were done and provide a cost at that time. The price for the alterations was very reasonable and made my West Elm purchase 100% worth it! It's wonderful to find a craftsman in a modern cobbler shop, using vintage equipment that is still…read moremaintained in immaculate condition, with an artist at the controls. The owner worked on my boots immediately, showing me what he planned to use before starting work, and did extras--like polishing the upper and the stacked leather part of the heels on my Stingray cowboy boots--and brushed each boot. I'm going back today with my 35-year-old Hornback Alligator boots that need a lot of work (soles, heels, and refinishing). They were a gift from someone I loved, and I'll wear them until I go into the ground; however, I'd only trust Doe River Leather Works to make this repair perfectly.

I discovered on Wednesday that a dry cleaner in JCity had (I thought) ruined a white stole I needed…read morethis Sunday for my first day in this parish. I hd taken it in to be cleaned w the sweat etc around the neck. I didn't look at it immediately because I was moving. I took it out of the bag Wednesday and panicked! They had-it looked like to me-gotten some kind of rusty stuff on it and pulled out the hem. I live now in Kingsport and looked for a new dry cleaners. Craig's was the closest to me with a 5 star rating. This morning I was checking to see if it was ready. This lady was very helpful and she explained what they must have done and how they could fix it. A very nice very young man was manning the desk this afternoon when I came back and he remembered me and courteously bagged it up. It was reasonable to for what they had to do to fix me for Sunday. I will bring all my cleaning the 17 miles--it was worth the trip!!! Thank you, folks! You saved my first Sunday!
