I did overhear one of the technicians I allowed in for a "free evaluation" on speakerphone with the plumber asking if a $2,000 finder's fee sounded reasonable. I kept my mouth shut but it definitely raised some red flags. I listened to all three companies separately and then decided to do some serious research online. While some companies have plenty of glowing Google reviews, once you start looking at other sources like Yelp, the Arizona ROC, and the BBB, the picture can look very different. Consider this a friendly warning to homeowners: do your homework. After digging deeper, I was fortunate to find ASAP Restoration. One thing that immediately stood out is that they do not work referral deals with plumbers, do not pay kickbacks, and do not play games with deductibles. They simply focus on doing the job correctly. The team was extremely professional. The mitigation/demo crew handled the water damage quickly and thoroughly, and the reconstruction team has been excellent. We're now about 90% finished with the rebuild and everything is coming together great. I just felt the need to share my experience before heading out for spring break. The worker having known the streaks it left still continued with the whole home even after I brought the streaks to his attention in the entrance to my wash room. After he was "done" with the entire home floors it was discussed that I had a "wax" coating that left streak marks from their machine. And I would need a chemical peel/removal of wax buildup? This business I consider as "professionals"? Not after the mess that was left. They also discussed that the condition of my tile (due to age) needed a whole home regrouting.
