Are you picking up some at the phoenix airport and arrived to early. Well don't sit in traffic or pull off the side of the road to wait, making more traffic. Check out this underutilized hidden gem, one of the best places in the entire airport and there for the entire world. It's called the Sky Harbor's free 24-hour Cell Phone Lot. This place has it all a great safe place to wait for someone's flight to arrive or depart, a live feed of all the flights arriving soon, restrooms, plenty of parking, and its free. The best part is there is No stress, No worries, No bathroom lines, No fees and No issues because you are the only person there. I call this place the Sky Harbor's VIFree Lot and would recommend to anyone in the area even if you don't have to go the the airport. I could not give this free underutilized hidden gem 5 stars because I feel like I am steeling from the airport every time I go here, and that doesn't sit well with me. 4 stars.

Handy map of all the cell phone lots! From the Sky Harbor website (9-2018)

Picking up someone from the airport makes me anxious. Maybe it's because I don't trust anyone on the road lol. Driving to the airport, trying to navigate around the sometimes confusing signs to where you are supposed to meet while dodging the already crazy and frantic drivers, especially during rush hour argh! I'm glad that there are cell phone lots to make it a little easier to wait for your person's flight to arrive, and 3 of them too! I meant to go to the closest lot from 24th Street but I accidentally made a wrong turn when the road forked so I ended up at the more centrally located one which was alright in the end. There were plenty of spots and the screens showing the flight times is a nice little perk. Getting out of the lot was easy and while it was still a bit stressful getting to the right gate, with enough careful driving and some accompanying occasional but rapid cursing my passenger was picked up safe and sound, we were on our way out of Sky Harbor and onto better and brighter things!

This is a great parking lot while you wait wait for guests to arrive at airport. There is even a Few Porta potties! Super easy access in and out of lot and conscientious sis gave everywhere on and off the highway to get here.

Close to the terminal 4 departure and arrival lanes and it's free. Large sign with flight information. Great place to watch the sunset when waiting.

Cell phone parking lot - equipped with and arrivals board and list of phone numbers for the airlines!

I've been in and out of many airports over the years and this is one of my favorites for sure. I mean don't get me wrong, an airport is still in the airport... Busy, highly secured, and packed with our favorite people the TSA agents. The reason I like Phoenix Sky Harbor is because it's usually pretty well organized to where it's not a complete disaster if you don't get here hours and hours ahead of time. They have all of the standard stores, shops and restaurants that you would associate with an airport. One of the cool things that I have noticed here at Sky Harbor is the "cell" parking lot - this is where you can go, park for free and wait for someone to arrive. Once they have landed and gathered their baggage, they can call or text to let you know they're ready to be met by the curb. CIRCLING THE AIRPORT IS NOT NECESSARY!!

Long line to get out. Horrible!

Oh my god, talk about a NIGHTMARE! My husband was flying into Sky Harbor to meet me in Phoenix and when I read about a cell phone lot I was initially excited. I left my hotel early to get a spot in the lot. Everything was fine when I arrived and secured a spot. The lot was very crowded and I took one of two parking spots left. The cell phone lot is difficult to get to but is very close to the pick-up terminal. This is where the issue is -- it's steps away from the pick-up area but that means there are HUGE bottlenecks of traffic coming both from inside the cell phone lot and on the exterior roads. This means when everybody arrives at the same time, there is a huge backup of cars. Even though I was parked close by, it took me over THIRTY MINUTES to get OUT of the cell phone lot to pick up my husband! I was trapped! You can't back out of your spot or even MOVE in the traffic. I was in tears. NEVER again. It's better to circle than to park here. Trust me!

For a cell phone lot, it's a cell phone lot. Not far from the terminals (thankfully) and easy in/out. Didn't have any trouble.

Plenty of parking and a large electrical board with flight info. Parking is free and there's also porta potties on site.

I've always used the west lot with no issues. I really wish there was wifi available, but at least I don't have to pay to park and wait.

However, as I arrived to park my truck the people greeted me and ask if I was new to the parking area. They gave me clear directions and the shuttles picked me up within 5 minutes after parking. I checked in on Yelp and they gave me a $2 off coupon (which I totally forgot to use when check out!). When I got back from my trip, they give you a card with where to get picked up. Depending on your terminal, the directions were pretty easy. I got picked up within 20 minutes and back to my truck with 10. I checked out and they gave me a free car wash coupon at Cobble Stone. I think that's why I forgot to show them my $2 off coupon. I got too excited for a free car wash! Thank you to the staff for making an easy in and out trip!

Until now. Returning from a trip recently, I started my vehicle and immediately got a warning from the vehicle 's annunciator: two tires with extremely low pressure, and a third with a pressure too low for driving. That's three tires with low pressure. Did I run over something causing three tires to lose pressure? No. The one tire with normal pressure was the only one in view of the administrative building: that tire was the only one with its valve stem cover still in place. The other three had been removed. Luckily, I had an electric air pump that plugs into the 12-volt receptacle and inflated the other three adequately so that the tires wouldn't be ruined if the car was moved. At a service station, I brought all tires up to pressure, and the pressure remained stable afterward. Conclusion: the absence of valve stem covers and no indication of leaks are ample evidence that this was done deliberately. But by whom? Someone deflated the tires. Why our vehicle? I don't know and can't imagine a reason why we were singled out. The only stickers on the vehicle are (1) parking pass for the university I attended, and (2) a PHI Cares (airlift notification). Nothing even remotely offensive about our license plate frame. Fortunately, our vehicle is equipped with 4K resolution dash cams, one in the front windshield, one in the back: as an anti-theft measure, the cameras record anyone close aboard who approaches the vehicle when it is not moving -- and the cameras aren't very noticeable from outside the car: crystal-clear imaging, day and night. I'm having the memory cards downloaded to disc to determine who was responsible for this sabotage.

Enter PreFlight Airport Parking. After reading such great reviews, I had to try it. Paid about $31.50 with a coupon code I found online. This was from a Friday until Sunday night at 9:30. Everything was great until I picked up my car. That was not the best moment. Read on... Pulling up to the property was easy enough. Google maps took me right to the entrance. Pay attention to the signs because there are different levels and you have to remember which floor you reserved. I chose the ground level. The website stated some of the spots are covered, and when I arrived, most were actually covered. I was glad about that! My flight was actually delayed about an hour, so I called to find out if it was okay for me to arrive a bit later than I had reserved. The person on the phone didn't sound like they knew what they were talking about (maybe they were new, idk). I heard them ask someone else my same question. She then came back on and said, yes that's fine, but if you arrive past 3 pm, you have to pay. I asked how much and she asked the other person again. "The same amount you paid when you made the reservation." Uhhh.. okay. I made sure I arrived before 3 pm. Pushed the button at the machine, it spit out a ticket and the arm swung open for me to drive through. I found a spot immediately and locked up my car. Upon my return Sunday night, my flight ended up coming in later. This meant I ended up picking up my ride almost an hour later due to delays BEYOND MY CONTROL. As I drove to the exit, I was anticipating paying a little extra since I did stay a little after my reservation of 9:30 pm. No one was at the booth, I had to scan my ticket at least 2 times before it told me I had to pay $64 and some change!! I was SHOOK to say the least!! WHAT?!?! By that time, close to 10:30 pm, there were 2 or 3 cars behind me also waiting to exit. I was livid, but I swiped my card to pay so that the arm would swing up to let me out. WOW. I was dumbfounded and annoyed af to be honest. What kind of highway robbery is this operation?! They will charge you twice what you paid if you leave past whatever time you said you would arrive, even if it's not your fault!! Like I mentioned earlier, they didn't have anyone to ask anything (at the booths to come in or leave the premises). It's like a trap so whoever falls into it has no choice but to pay whatever amount pops up on the screen. I didn't bother to call because they probably would have given some lame speech about how it's their policy and that's how they operate. I was happy with where my car was parked, though. It was well lit when I arrived at night and the shuttle driver was quick and friendly. My car was in the same condition I left it. Would I use this place again?! Maybe. If I do, I'll make my return time 2 hours after my scheduled arrival to avoid the upcharge hassle. You've been warned!

They make everything really easy, and they are now fully shaded!!! So awesome! Reservations can be made online through the app. Upon arrival, you can scan the QR code that is created when you make the reservation, and the workers will tell you which aisle to go down. Once you've unpacked the vehicle of your belongings and locked up, a bus will usually be ready to pick you up at your car! The seating is nice and there's racks for your suitcases while you travel to the airport. They'll ask which airline you're going to and take you directly there. You'll also receive a card to give back them when you pick up your car, so they'll know where to drop you off. When you've come back and are ready to pick up your car, the buses will be located down in courtesy vehicles of the arrivals area. I think when you make the reservations you'll put in information about your flight too, so they'll have a general idea of when to pick you up. But make sure you get on the right bus, as there are three different locations. Once you're dropped off at your car, you'll drive back to the gates and scan your QR code again and pay. They offer complimentary water bottles too when you exit! I love The Parking Spot and recommend it to everyone!

It's also monitored parking with cameras all over the place and I've not heard of any car thefts or incidents happening here, which is also a huge plus!!! 3 days of parking for $47 isn't bad!
