I have called no less than four times requesting to have my name removed from their call list. Yet they continue to harass me with weekly mailers insisting they send someone to inspect my roof. I received a phone call last week from someone identifying themselves as being from TPA, informing me that an inspector would be coming to my home tomorrow at noon and that I don't need to be home if I just give them my homeowners insurance information over the phone to start a claim. I told the man on the phone that I never requested any such service, in fact I had requested the opposite - to stop soliciting me for unwanted services - and that it was creepy to tell someone that you'll just show up to their home when they're not there. The man on the phone then very rudely stated that "women homeowners often don't know there's damage so we want to come check that out for you." Aside from the fact I'm not a woman, that comment was sexist and unprofessional. TPA behaves in the same way ambulance-chasing lawyers do business. It's companies like this that drive up the costs of homeowners insurance by opening claims for unnecessary repairs just to line their own pockets.
