Came for a long overdue 90 min.gift card & called in last minute. Karen, the manager/owner made…read morespecial arrangements for me to come at 11:30am instead of the initial 12:45pm time frame. I was so happy she values her customer's needs. When I mentioned I had a gift card, she made sure it was something she honored before she made any promises(which I really appreciated). As I entered the small waiting area, I noticed a change in the decor, it was simple & welcoming. What was also nice was the prompt & professional service of having me in the room at 11:30am & not waiting. My masseur was Jimmy, he had a gentle yet effective technique. I didn't realize how tight & tense my shoulders were until he worked on my joints & muscles. Jimmy also listened when my right shoulder was more sensitive, he took a quick break from working on that side but then tried a different technique to get that knot out. I couldn't be happier but realized I need more massages so I booked another appt. w/Jimmy. Thanks Amador Spa for realizing self care is so important & for helping me release the tension on my shoulders.

If you're looking to just relax this may not be the best place. I was looking for a local spot to…read moretry since the gem I found in Palo Alto was kinda far, so I stumbled on this place after a quick google search. They are very courteous people, but I just wanted to relax and enjoy the massage and calming sounds they put on. Nope, constantly asking questions I felt like it was more of an interrogation. It was questions about my personal life and work. I do not want to talk about that as this is my time . And I don't know how you tell someone that nicely, so I just rolled with it. I do not like to share certain personal things with people I do not know. I tried to be short in my answers in hopes he would figure out that I didn't want to talk, but nope it kept coming. And it is hard to talk with those covers they have on the pillow you rest your face on. The overall massage was okay. I didn't care for it .i think I would've had a better massage at Massage Envy. The mobility movements were good. But I didn't leave feeling like wow I feel so good and relaxed...that's how I felt when I left the Palo Alto spot, so I guess the hunt for a local spot continues.

She also always seems to have availability when I need a massage, which is such a gift when life gets busy or I'm feeling especially tense. She truly isn't like any other massage place I've been to. This is the worst massage I've ever had. I've never once walked out in the middle of a massage…read morebefore but here I did. I originally requested 90 mins deep tissue. The lady agrees then, when I'm face down on the bed she asks me it vitiligo was infectious? I tell her no, but I would have understood if she wasn't comfortable continuing. But she agrees to continue, and legit for 20-30 mins just very lightly moves her hand around my back on top of the blanket. I'm already getting annoyed then but I figured I can hold off to see if it'll get better. It doesn't. She then puts on gloves (which whatever, I get it.) But when she does she starts putting oil on, and its literally so uncomfortable, as its like zero pressure, and for some unknown reason, feels the need to put oil near my stomach and underarm area? Okay, at that point I'm getting mad but I asked her to please do it harder. She agrees and again literally just touches my sides, lower back with oil doing nothing. At that point, I just stopped her at 1 hour mark. She gets the hot towel and wipes my back down and she tries to continue, I tell her to stop again, this time I'm propped up already on my elbows and told her to stop. She stops but then asks if Im really angry at her. Well yeah. Then she offers to remove her gloves and continue the next 30 minutes. Seriously? I didnt care about the gloves its the not doing what was asked for. I told her that im just done i dont like anything about this. When I get up and leave I paid her $70. $60 for the worst hour of massage ive ever had the displeasure of paying for and $10 to at least acknowledge that she did... something? I didnt want me not tipping is just me being cheap, its me being pissed the fuck off that im still in pain and I wasted money and time being there.
