Came for a long overdue 90 min.gift card & called in last minute. Karen, the manager/owner made special arrangements for me to come at 11:30am instead of the initial 12:45pm time frame. I was so happy she values her customer's needs. When I mentioned I had a gift card, she made sure it was something she honored before she made any promises(which I really appreciated). As I entered the small waiting area, I noticed a change in the decor, it was simple & welcoming. What was also nice was the prompt & professional service of having me in the room at 11:30am & not waiting. My masseur was Jimmy, he had a gentle yet effective technique. I didn't realize how tight & tense my shoulders were until he worked on my joints & muscles. Jimmy also listened when my right shoulder was more sensitive, he took a quick break from working on that side but then tried a different technique to get that knot out. I couldn't be happier but realized I need more massages so I booked another appt. w/Jimmy. We called the day of to book an appointment for three of us (me, my sister, my mom) We got the 5 pm slot as we requested and were excited for an over due massage. Massage was great, and it was very relaxing. The part that turned me off was when it came to pay they didn't appreciate my tip which was 14 % and insisted I pay 17% tip as listed on their tip suggestion list that they have printed on a wall. It became a bit awkward and we did pay the suggested amount but don't think I would return based on that. read more

I booked a 90-minute massage here and honestly, the whole experience was just okay. When I showed up, there was no one around--no staff in sight. I waited outside for a bit until the masseuse finally arrived and opened the door for me. She let me in but didn't really explain anything, just kind of led me to the room. I had to ask what I was supposed to do next. Once I got on the table, she took a while getting herself ready, so it didn't start off very smoothly. The massage itself wasn't relaxing, but she did find the tight spots and worked on the knots pretty well. She never asked where my problem areas were, but somehow managed to hit most of them anyway. Overall, if you just need help loosening up muscle tension, this place might do the job. But if you're looking for a relaxing spa experience or good customer service, I'd look somewhere else. read more

One of the best massages I've had in a while, all pleasure no pain, with excellent deep tissue pressure the entire time by my awesome masseuse Jenny. She found and worked on all the knots in my back, shoulders, neck, arms, shins, and more. Wow, so much relief from my muscle tension and stress, and she was thorough which I appreciated. Hot stones were included in the hour-long session. The couples room had inviting decor and lovely paintings on the walls. Staff was friendly and professional, and they had our room ready even before our appointment time on a Saturday afternoon (as we arrived early). Cons: - I've noticed this is something more common these days, but they asked for a tip up front and there's a sign that shows tip rate depending on how you liked the massage. So I always find it strange to give a tip based on performance before I even get the massage. - When we had our couples massage the music was low, door was open and masseuses were chatting a bit which took me out of a meditative state. It's not the end of the world but I like a quiet and calm environment during my massages. - The towel they used to wipe off the excess oil was very coarse and scratched my skin. - My partner wanted a section of her body avoided and there was a bit of confusion to the request that might have been rooted in a language barrier. - Complementary candy was either old or melted in the lobby. I had an amazing experience at Amador Spa (as always), and I have to give a huge shout-out to Nancy. She's new and was incredible--professional, strong, and really knew what she was doing. She found all of my knots and worked them out, and she seemed to know exactly which areas were tight without me even having to say. Not sure if the management changed again, but I usually go here once a month. My past appointment, a week ago, I paid cash for 75 minutes and the masseuse only provided the massage for 65 minutes and I mentioned it to the gentleman at the front desk. He tried to tell me that it was for 75 minutes and when I showed him the timer on my phone, he sort of just laughed it off and said they'll take care of me next time. This is my go-to place and when I'm paying you in cash for 75 minutes, I expect to receive the service I'm paying for. I'd highly recommend setting up a timer on your phone to see if you're actually receiving the service you pay for. read more

After having bad lower back pain and neck soreness from sitting like a shrimp in my work chair all day hunched over, I decided it was about time I get a massage. I opted to get the yelp special massage for 1 hour with hot stones which was $60. The massage was good but not great and parts were quite strange and unprofessional. What I liked about the massage was that the massager was proactive about asking what pressure I prefer and making sure I was comfortable, however, during the massage a random person barged into the room to ask if a lost phone was mine, and the massager forgot to use hot stones until the last 2 minutes of the massage after I reminded her to do so. This was upsetting since what I had paid for was a 60 minute massage with hot stones not a 2 minute hot stone massage after a regular massage. There were also parts of the massage where the massager started lifting my legs and swirling them around and smacking them on the massage bed, as well as a part where the massager randomly grabbed my face and started massaging my cheeks with massage oil. Both of these, while feeling relaxing were random and strange. Another thing to note is that my back was quite sore after the massage for 2 days, even though the pressure was not hard but only medium. All in all however, Amador Spa is a good massage place to stop by to get a decent massage and relieve some stress. read more

I wanted to make use of my day off from work. I called that morning and was able to make an appointment for 12 noon that day. Amador Spa is clean and observes covid-19 cleanliness guidelines - hand sanitizer, masking for both massage therapist and customer, and sanitizing between customers. Sophia worked out knots I didn't even realize I had. Her pressure is on the medium to heavy spectrum which is exactly how I like it, and you walk out of there feeling like every single bone and tissue has been worked through. I felt sore for a couple of days after, but I felt amazing and relaxed afterwards. I just left establishment, Let me start off with the positive. The location has convenient parking, the place was clean, and my massage while it lasted was great. Now for improvements. I booked an appointment two days in advance for a 60 minute body massage +30 minute foot massage a total of 90 minutes. Upon my arrival there was slight confusion with my appointment, they had not seen the appointment on the schedule the night before. I booked an appointment for 10 AM and after everything was sorted out my massage started at 10:15 AM. Not a big deal . However, after my foot massage and body massage was over I anticipated that it would be around 11:45 AM since it was supposed to be 90 minutes. However, I was done at 11:20 AM. They undercut my massage by 25 minutes. this was a treat for my birthday, I was definitely in no mood to make that part of the experience worse and argue about it. Like I said, the massage itself was great, I just wish it would've lasted the entire 90 minutes that I booked. I should still be getting a massage as I write this review. I expected a bit of consultation, but due to language barriers, I understood. Over the course of the hour, I constantly explained that I only came for my neck and upper back, but she insisted on massaging my arms, hands, feet, legs, about every other part of my body except the most stiff, my neck and upper back. After the massage was over, I was about to walk out, and she asked me how I was paying. I told her that I already paid and tried to walk out but she started pointing at the gratuity recommendation sheet, asking for $10, $15, $20 dollars. I asked her if tipping was required, and she said yes, which I obviously knew was a lie, and she told me to wait, while calling the owner on her phone. I used chatgpt real time translation and heard all the nasty things she was saying, which I won't include. I really don't mind tipping, but yelling at me and telling me its required after not even giving me the massage I needed was ludicrous. You might as well make payments only digital so you can have the tip popup on the screen, or have a tip jar somewhere, or don't give me back my change in 20 dollar bills. I saw this place won an award, so this could just be my subjective negative experience, but at the end while cussing me out, she did tell me to never come again, so I guess I'll respect my elders!! My husband said he was being massaged with the woman wearing a ring and scraping it across his foot. My massage was painful most of the time. It wasn't horrible but it was painful. After the massage she charged me $180, I told her she told me $120 on the phone. She told me she just told me $120 because that's for 60mins. I don't know what her point was because I didn't ask her the price for a 60 min massage I asked her the price of my 90 min massage, so I only came because I thought the massage was $120. After this she was really rude to me and dismissed me after I paid. No thank you or anything, she was clearly mad. I highly recommend making a reservation even though today we called at 11:50am for a 12 o'clock massage...they are so accommodating and professional. This is why we'll be coming back. Love how they ask if there's somewhere on your body that's need more attention. It's up to you if you say whole body but I needed my neck, back and legs focused on more and I still got a full body massage.
