Until Sept 2012 the principals in this organization were volunteers for Project Reboot's computer recycling efforts. That is until they decided to stage a coup and take over Project Reboot. They opened a company called Project Reboot, Inc. with themselves listed as the owners. They converted Project Reboot's bank account for their own use by fraudulently asserting that they were officers of Project Reboot's parent non-profit organization when they weren't even members of the organization (just volunteers).
After they were caught and thrown out, they tried to arrange with a moving company to empty out Project Reboot and move the inventory to their new location. Fortunately, we had changed the locks the same day the Police escorted them off our property.
The real Project Reboot sued these guys for the following:
1) Stop using the Project Reboot name as their own
2) Return all of the money taken ($138,000)
3) Pay Project Reboot's parent company $30,000 towards the legal fees it incurred chasing these thieves.
The principals at Phoenix Computers settled before we went to Court giving us everything we sued for - they were made to realize that their actions were indefensible and there was no way they could prevail against the suit.
As a parting act, they stole all of our electronic data (customer lists, referring agents list, etc.) and sent emails out telling all of Project Reboot's customers and agents that Project Reboot was defunct and that Phoenix Computers was where they should refer clients.
Unfortunately, for Phoenix Computers, when they settled the lawsuit against them they forgot to ask for a gag order so their story can be freely told.
