On a whim, my wife and I decided to stop by this place, and I am glad we did! We got the fresh spring rolls, a yellow curry, and a pad kee mao. The flavor and heat level in these dishes is unmatched by any restaurant we have tried since moving to eastern NC. Everything was so good that we got an order of pad thai to go, which was also delicious. The owners are extremely friendly, and they provide excellent service. My daughter and I had Veggie Spring Rolls and Pot and Pot Stickers as Appetizers and the Tom Yum Vegetable Soup with rice and Pad See-Eu with Chicken and a side of Kimchi. All the items were delicious and the service was excellent! Forgot to take pictures of food too busy enjoying it all. We will go back soon and try other items on the menu like the Pho Chicken Noodle Soup and Pho Beef Noodle plus I want to try the Chicken Red Curry. We love going to Mon Asian on Glenburnie but have to wait a bit for our food didn't have that problem here. read more

What a difference new ownership makes! Same name as before but now a lovely couple are running the place. Our lunch yesterday was perfect. A friendly greeting, quick and nice service--and the food! Our Spring rolls with the peanut and sweet and sour dipping sauces were spot on! Hub had Penang red curry and coconut milk sauce with mixed tofu and beef and he was mighty pleased. Me? I had my fav order of Pad Thai. I admit I'm a bit of a stickler for a good one and this one more than passed muster. Fresh noodles? Check. Chopped peanuts? Check. A segment of fresh lime for squeezing? Check. Crunch tofu with a creamy center? Check. And the crucial spice level? I asked for medium plus a bit. And it was perfect. A nice level of heat but not over much. As we left, I asked another table if they'd had the pork belly before--my second choice. I'd heard them order it. The man said it was really, really good here. So I know what I'll be ordering next time. Another table was making happy noises over their big bowls of Pho, so that's on my list, too. I hope they'll add a great Vietnamese dish: Bun. The restaurant was extremely clean and the staff was very friendly! Decor made me feel as if I was in Asia. I ordered the chicken pho, my companion ordered the pho special- and we both shared the summer rolls. The broth could have been a little lighter, the chicken was a little dry, but with the mixture of everything else inside the pho, you really couldn't tell. The sauce for the summer roll was 5/5. It was sweet and tasted like peanuts! I also ordered a Thai tea with boba- I loved the Thai tea but the boba wasn't up my ally. It was a the pink gush tapioca pearls instead of the regular black tapioca pearls. Overall- the service was fast, the restaurant was beautiful, and the food was good. The pho was terrible. It was extremely sweet. Felt like they just dropped in 80 packets of Splenda. And the eye round had fat on it which is unheard of for eye round... I tried to like it but couldn't finish it. Makes me sad because the nem cuon and Thai tea boba was so good. read more

It's a pretty empty spot but aside from the place looking like a ghost town, the food is really really good. They didn't have that many options but it was alright since more does not always equal better. I had com suong and it was probably the best com suong I ever had. The pork was perfectly cooked and it was sooo good. The nouc mam was sweet and complimented with the pork and rice really well. The pho is alright. I'm not too much of a pho guy but it did taste pretty good. For drinks, I had the lychee boba drink and it was REALLY good. It didn't taste fake like every other boba place that I've tried. Literally BAD. Got my bowl of beef pho. Had one bite and then tried to save it with siracha and anything available on the table. Nothing worked. The broth was like flavored of spoiled meat. Please please please, save yourself. read more

I thought the previous owners were good. The new owners are even better! Instead of my usual cold noodle salad I tried Hu Tieu with seafood. Oh! A new favorite . Rich pork broth and perfect noodles with a satisfying load of seafood. I have alway avoided anything with fish balls and man! have I been missing out. I have now enjoyed crispy spring rolls with a perfect sweet and sour sauce, summer rolls with terrific peanut sauce, mouth watering Pho', cold noodle salad (Bun'), and now Hu Tieu. My friend, a black coffee drinker, loved the Vietnamese coffee (rich dark coffee served with condensed milk). Next time I'll try to remember to take pictures even though this is one of those times a picture can't capture how delicious the food is. read more

First visit........not impressed. Wife ordered green curry and was specifically asked how spicy (scale of one to 10). She said one. Curry arrived looking more like soup than curry and was at least a 6 in spiciness. I ordered Pad Thai with a spiciness of 4. It arrived with almost no heat. It's possible she got my spice and I got hers. Couldn't find host/waiter to tell him my wife's curry was almost inedible. Found staff in kitchen who told us that green curry is always spicy and that they would make her yellow curry with no spice, as this they had control over. Kudo's to kitchen staff for explanation and providing another meal for my wife, but again, arrived more like soup than curry. Host/waiter re-appeared to cash us out, but made no mention of issues we had. Would have been the perfect opportunity to say "sorry" and I hope you'll try us again. Just tried this new Vietnamese restaurant in Havelock and it was so good! It's same location as old Vietnamese place, but food looks better and now they have Bun!(Rice vermicelli) which is my favorite Vietnamese food. I loved the flavor of bbq pork! Ordered the spring roll and B3. Everything was good and good presentation. My husband didn't like the spring roll as much maybe has something to do with the wrapper they used but I liked it. Definitely will coming back. Server was helpful too even though it's a to go order with the whole coronavirus situation. Hope they get more customer. Me and my husband love pho, our favorite place closed down so we decided to try this place out. First off, the had horrible air flow, i was sweating just sitting at the table. Now i usually don't write bad reviews but this really put me off; our waiter, a young teen guy, every time he approached our table he brought a nasty, musty smell with him. I soon realized it was his feet/fliplops. The pho was not great, tasted like noodles you buy at the store, kinda like ramen. And when we were ready to leave, it took forever for our waiter to return, well we could clearly see had left the restaurant outside the window to put fluids in his car.. very unprofessional. The whole time me and my husband were just ready to leave and forget this horrible restaurant. Never again. read more
