After reading different reviews and based on our location, we decided on Pho Kim Long. Little place right on the corner. When we walked in, place was busy... Noon on a Saturday but we were seated right away. The wait staff was super friendly. We ordered an order of Crab Ragoons and each of us ordered a bowl of Pho. The Crab Ragoons were very good sin size and portion of cream cheese to wrapper. Freshly fried.. Crispy on the outside and soft warm in the inside. I got the combination Pho with Brisket, Rare Steak and Meatballs. Good portion of each type of meat. Broth was hot and so very comforting. Great sense of complex of spices in the broth. Nice portion of the traditional garnishes that comes with Pho. All of us were able to equally share them. Prices very reasonable and all of us left with our tummies full. Not from the San Antonio area but if I was, I'll be making this a regularPhod spot!

I love this restaurant a lot, I used to talk to the Grandpa way back in the day. He let me put some of my art up in his space next door long time ago. Today I went again and had some really good Grilled Chicken Lemongrass Vermicelli, I also had some Thai Tea which is so good and I wanted the Boba with it. They have so many kinds of foods of all kinds of tastiness, they are expert at Pho. I go here every season, crunch time is in the winter with Pho's but they are amazing year round with so much variety in the menu. I highly recommend them because they are the best. This Family business is beautiful, they take the time to care for customers, I am always greeted with smiles and courtesy. It has been over two decades of me loving this place. Take your friends! Take your Family! Take your Beloved! You will be pleasantly surprised :)

When I was pregnant, I would go there and dine alone to satisfy cravings and literally spoon up their chili paste. I order the same thing every single time. So I know exactly what it should taste like. This is my first time back there since their remodel. The remodel is beautiful. The staff was not impressive. They were unattentive. Dismissive, even. And the dish was... I don't know how to describe. There were obviously corners cut. I was frustrated because I had been specifically craving this. I had even bragged about it to my partner the day before and how I wanted to take him there to try it. I had probably three bites of it and then paid out and left, abandoning my food completely. In retrospect, they didn't even ask why I was closing out with an essentially untouched meal. I've never done anything like that before. I'm hoping I can return and have my favorite again but I'm not sure why the quality changed so drastically. There was zero flavor to the broth, which has always been so rich and aromatic.

Although delicious pho and rolls are absolutely perfect during the rainy and wet season, they are great meal options during any time of the year ;) ! We also received great warm tapioca dessert at the conclusion of dinner :) ! The employees were very friendly and courteous and super prompt with our orders :) ! Perhaps it helped that we didn't come in at the peak times on a Saturday and could be served right away. It's very casual and absolutely perfect for both small and large groups of friends or family members :) ! But they also have smaller tables for solo eaters who might just want to enjoy a great meal on their own time, or for twosomes who don't need a large space :) ! We would certainly come back :D ! This is one of the best pho restaurants we have been to in San Antonio :D !

I'll share photos of why I was not pleased with this experience…read more First off, I don't like giving small local businesses a bad name, but I'm writing this review in the hopes of pushing the establishment towards improvement. Our visit was about an hour to an hour & a half before closing time. Service: It seemed like there were only two people operating at the time of our visit. One person was taking orders, working the register and bussing the tables. Then, another person came out from the kitchen to help clean out right before closing. I believe that it is for this reason some of our orders came out incomplete including a Spring Roll to-go order without the peanut sauce. This place should have two working the entire floor at all times to provide sufficient service. Food: I go to Pho restaurants often and the servings at Berni--well, you get less than what you pay for. The broth of my soup noticeably topped off a lot lower than usual. The amount of meat and noodles was not near generous either. You can also see the contents of the Spring Roll after a bite (photo). The taste is typical Vietnamese as it should. No complaints on that. Cleanliness: I noticed the outer side of one bowl was still dirty (photo). Dear Berni, Your food is not bad but I think there are changes that need to be made. Honestly, I don't think I'll be coming back but improve for the sake of future customers. You have upside potential.

The menu has a lot of options but I decided on the chargrilled pork w/vermicelli noodles. On the standard menu its a Bun. The lunch specials come with choice of soup and a spring roll. Since I didnt want soup, the kind server gave me an extra spring roll. Im calling the roll a spring roll but it is slightly bigger than a spring roll and smaller than an egg roll. My food was very, very good. The grilled pork was the perfect toasty on the outside but tender enough to cut with my fork. The spring/egg roll was perfect. Finally an egg roll that is not greasy. I cant wait to go back and try other entrees.

FIRST TIME VISIT!…read more Stopped by on a whim and glad I did! It's a cold winter afternoon in San Antonio and I was craving some hot tea and Asian food. This place is just 7 mins away from my office, so it was a perfect time to try them out. Parking is easy in this large shopping center and they are in a spot that is easy to locate them once you turn off De Zavala and into the shopping center. I ordered the #105- charcoal grilled pork chop chunks w/rice and pickled veggies, fresh cucumber and I added a fried egg. It came with a spicy, sweet sauce that is likely fish sauce based. The food is really good quality! The pork was very tender and the marinade is a bit sweet, classic Vietnamese. I would def recommend this dish with the egg. There are no TVs but they do have music playing overhead, sounds like modern pop music. I had to Shazam a few songs, though. Yes, I am THAT out of touch with current pop culture. See photos for those songs.
