Beautiful interior and very spacious. The service was fast but I feel like they need to work on timing of when the food comes out. Our table ordered two phos and two rice dishes. By the time the rice dishes came out the people with the pho already finished their food. Now the food. The meats for the phos are great! The soups are a bit more savory than what I am use to for pho but still really good! The galbi short rib is ok. The meat was a bit tough. The pork chop was great! 5/5. A lot of Vietnamese people were here as we walked in so that was a good sign. Indeed the soup was very good, and the topping was fresh and ample. I did not even have to drink lots of water after my pho meal, which I usually do in other places because of whatever is put in the soup. We were also pleasantly surprised by the quality and portion of the kids meal (grilled chicken rice dish) - way way way better than those generic "chicken tenders" and "mac and cheese" options! Here the kids meals are real, healthy choices, which actually cultivate a good palate in kids. In fact we would go back just for the kids meal, if not for the delicious pho itself. I've been to a few of their NJ locations and they really excel in their non-pho dishes. I got the B2 and the meat was perfectly seasoned and tender, the veggies were fresh and crunchy. The che thai had the perfect amount of sweetness there was a nice variety of fruit and I love any jelly dessert and this did not fall short. Honestly the food was very good but the service was nonexistent. We weren't checked up once which is something I would expect from a no frills mom and pop shop but there were barely any customers and the workers were just talking amongst themselves. I love that there are more Vietnamese restaurants in the area. Pho Today recently opened up in South Philadelphia and now in Montgomeryville. I'm super excited. Their pho is good. I love that they have my two favorites, lotus root and papaya salad. They also have salted lemon drink and durian smoothie which I also really like. I will have to come back for the bun bo hue and banh mi. P.S. Make your own pho is really nice to have as well. P.S.S. Maybe it's grand opening weeks, the service could be better. Pho Today (or, PhoTo Day) is a local chain of Vietnamese restaurants located in eastern Pennsylvania and north Jersey specializing in traditional street food from that southeast Asian nation. This new shop is on the periphery of a large mall in Montgomeryville, and is a little tricky to navigate to because of its odd entrance driveway and lack of direct access to public roads. Still, it is worth finding your way to its front door if you like pho (noodle soup), com (rice dishes), bahn mi (sandwiches) and other wonderful VN cuisine. When I walked in late on a Saturday afternoon, the floor was lightly populated, and I had a table to myself. A server approached quickly, handed me a menu and welcomed me. The menu had all the customary offerings, and I chose Pho with Special Mushrooms, a side Grilled Pork Chop, and. Grilled Beef Banh Mi (to go). My meal arrived minutes later. The bowl was a decent size, full of steaming light brown clear beef consommé, a nest of noodles beneath the surface and plenty of mushrooms, sliced onion, and scallion. I added fresh bamboo sprouts, Thai Basil leaves, thin sliced jalapeño, and a long squeeze of the lime wedge to give it that extra acidic kick. First slurp from the flat bottomed spoon was hot and tasted of a properly spiced and long simmered stock. It wasn't perfect, but it was quite good. With my additions, it was totally satisfying. I went with the mushroom option to reduce the oil and fat rendering of the meat alternatives. Thus, the pho was light and tasty without the tax on the digestive system. The noodles were medium soft and folded easily into my spoon. The Pork Chop was thin and well grilled, with appropriate char and well chopped chive decoration. Long squirts of Hoisin and Sriracha alongside and the supplement to my meal was exactly right. Liked it a lot, and picked up the bone to capture all I could of the tender meat. Later that evening, I shared the Banh Mi with my better half. This was a beautiful sandwich, full of thin sliced grilled beef, daikon, jalapeño, carrot, cilantro and light mayonnaise. It hit all the right notes, except for the roll, which was not a French baguette, but more a commercial grade Italian hoagie roll, soft and pliant, as opposed to crunchy crusted and well textured. Just the wrong choice for an otherwise very good sammy. Too bad, because it could have been a contender. Aside from a weird interaction when attempting to pay the bill, which was off putting, I enjoyed my Pho Today experience. I would certainly visit this or the other locations of this business when in the right neighborhood and desiring decent Vietnamese food. read more

Been wanting to try this restaurant and I finally had the chance to today! The place is very big, lots of tables and seating and very spacious and clean. Parking lot has tons of spots to park at. For food, we ordered the rib pho and grilled pork banh mi. The pho was delicious but don't think I would order that again, just a one time try. Banh mi however, I would order that every-time I come here. We also ordered a grilled pork over rice and that was amazing. The grilled food here is absolutely delicious. We decided to give Pho Today a try today as we were in the area. Normally, we go to Vietnam Cafe in Telford, but decided to try Pho Today. Walking in, our hopes were high. We saw a few tables at 11:30am with Asian diners, the tables all had the required condiments..Fish Sauce, Hoisin sauce, hot sauce, etc. The menu is varied and descriptions led us to believe that the food would be good. I was very interested in trying their Banh Mi as the description led me to believe I would get a respectable sandwich. We ended up ordering the fried pork and shrimp spring rolls, pork and shrimp summer rolls, grilled pork chop with broken rice, Pho Today Pho (Filet, Oxtail, meatball), Mixed Meat (cold cut) Banh Mi, and an iced coffee. First the good...the portion sizes were nice. The Pho was a good sized with plenty of shaved filet, a couple ox tail sections, meatballs, and the included bean sprouts, and thai basil were plenty. The grilled pork chop was also a nice size with 2 medium sized chops, plenty of rice and a nice salad. The pickled vegetables that came with a few of our dishes were also tasty, a good combination of sweet and sour and generous in amount. Second...the average: The fried spring rolls were just ok. The wrapper was a bit thick but the filling was tasty. The flavor was there and the aforementioned pickled veggies were a good compliment. One big issue I had was that they cut the spring rolls in what I can only assume was to check if they were fried through. I mean, this is really not acceptable. If your staff isn't confident that the spring roll is cooked through...that's not good. The dipping sauce that they provide is also very lackluster. We ended up adding fish sauce and chili paste to make it better, but it really should already come mixed. This could be intentional so folks can mix their own...not a fan. The summer rolls were also just average. It was mostly just lettuce with very thin piece of steamed sliced pork and a skimpy shrimp. Whoever made our summer rolls did a poor job in distributing the protein as half of each summer roll did not have pork in it. Third...the bad: The banh mi was really poorly made. The bread was all wrong and was some sort of italian style bread that they tried to toast to make it seem like a baguette....which it did not. First, I'm just going to put it out there that if you make a banh mi with a hoagie roll or italian bread, you should be flogged. A french baguette is absolutely required for a banh mi. There are plenty of Panera's around where anyone can get baguettes. And yes, their menu specifically states that they use a baguette...I'm not just being over critical...Whoever made the banh mi also forgot to add cucumber and did not add enough pickled vegetables. As you can see in the picture...that's just not acceptable. I was able to flag down a staff member to bring me some cucumber...it took him 2 tries since I guess the Spanish speaking kitchen staff didnt understand him the first time. There was also no pate on the banh mi which is another fail. The grilled pork chop, while it looked like it would be good...was not. There was this weird glaze on it that tasted like a mix of hot dog and general tso chicken. Honestly, this was the least Vietnamese tasting thing we've had. Also, the service is not very attentive. The restaurant only had a few tables occupied, but I had to flag a guy down to fix my banh mi, and then had to flag another guy down when we wanted our check. They were friendly enough, so golf clap for that. Overall, our experience was very mediocre. We couldn't finish everything and the only thing I had wrapped up was the half banh mi so I could bring it home and let my son taste how terrible it was. The rest of it was not worth packing up. We're gonna try the Vietnamese place next to Volcano next...hopefully that wont be a disappointment. read more

The other table ate our food so they had put another order in. The host was also the waiter and completely clueless on how to service flow should go. Stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner on a recent weekday. Not very crowded, we received very attentive service. Inside ambiance is great, very clean eatery. We started off with an order of shrimp/pork summer rolls (excellent, nicely wrapped) and spring rolls (good). For mains, we ordered two Pho versions- the chicken and the filet mignon (both were awesome - big portions with lots of meat and tasty broth). Also ordered a vermicelli bowl with pork, beef and shrimp (think it was called the "Today Special") - this was a real winner!! Prices here are average but portions are large. Pho Today was special because they had ox-tail pho! That's pretty rare and so I was so excited so get it. Although the pho is pretty pricey, I still think it's pretty cool they have ox-tail. The pho was also very yummy, and authentic I felt, like the pho garnish also had another type of herb (idk what it was though). I had no idea about this chain and I'm glad my friends took me to it. It was like warm comfort soup and filling and it really made me feel a lot better. The drinks and dessert were also delectable! The interior is super wide and clean, I think mainly because the place is new.
