My friend took me to this Vietnamese spot in Norristown while we were in the area, and I'm so glad we stopped! The food is authentic Northern Vietnamese cuisine, so good and comforting. We ordered the whole platter and the square egg rolls, and there was plenty of food. Everything tasted just like home. Pho Ngon sits in a midsized shopping center on Germantown Pike in East Norton, PA. It is a nicely decorated Vietnamese restaurant with standard menu of pho, com, apps, and vermicelli bowls. Our Summer Rolls were well made, fresh, with decent dipping sauce and ground peanuts. The Roast Pork Banh Mi was also okay, but would have been a big winner had they used a more baguette type roll with proper crisp and crunch. Service was the one area where they really fell short. Perhaps because of the hour 4:00 p.m., we were the only customers in the house. The wait person seemed less than enthused to have to wait on us. She never smiled, nor brought us place settings. We ate carefully to avoid dropping food on the table, floor and our clothing. The serving dishes were too small for that purpose. She never gave us lemon or lime slices for our drinking water as requested. The mamasan was more pleasant in taking out credit card payment, wishing for our return in the future. DELICIOUS. As someone who loves pho, tried all the great spots within Philly, and has been looking for a great place in the suburbs, this is it. Look no further! My husband and I LOVE this spot. The pho broth is so rich and clean, and it makes you want to go back for more! We also love their summer rolls (so refreshing), fried rice (absolutely delicious), and their iced viet coffee is perfection!! The owners are so sweet and kind! They even helped me carry my food out to my car. You can tell how much they care for their customers and how proud they are of their food! Interior was very neat and nicely decorated. Decent amount of seating. Service was great. My boyfriend mentioned they usually give you complimentary tea (?). We came right as they opened so they didn't make the tea yet. I got the pho deluxe. Overall okay, I was satisfied. The broth is too light for me but maybe that's just my personal preference. I got the lunch special pho. You get to choose any regular pho and it comes with choice of Tom yum or wonton soup and egg roll or summer roll and 2 dumplings. Thai iced tea was $2. I got the Tom yum soup which I actually thought was the best thing of the meal. It had a really good flavor that I feel like most Thai restaurants lack. The summer roll was fine but missing the peanut sauce. It only had the other sauce that you use for fried dumplings. The dumplings were okay. I got the beef ball pho. I know a lot of places generally don't give many beef balls but this bowl was so sad looking. I think it might have been 2 beef balls cut in half for 4 pieces. The soup flavor was a little off, tasted a little too sweet for me and didn't have the depth that I was looking for. I'll give them another chance and try of the rice dishes next time. read more

Pho Ngon is my go to pho places here in suburbs! I'm glad there's a pho place near my area that serves delicious food and provides amazing service! I highly recommend the Banh Mi and the Beef Pho. My friends had the pad thai. I had the sesame chicken wings before as well, and they are fire and I highly recommend. The pho broth was delicious and it doesn't leave an oily taste in your palette, unlike other places. I wanted to get some groceries at the nearby Asian grocery store, so decided to give Pho Ngon a try. Pho Ngon is beautifully decorated. The interior decorations are tastefully designed and it's very clean. It looks better than most Vietnamese places I've been to. Food is reasonably priced and tastes good. Service is friendly and efficient. Overall, I'm very satisfied with our lunch today. If there's anything that could have been better, I do wish they had a soda machine. I also find the canned soda price interesting: $2.06 per can. Also, if you pay by card, they automatically add 3% on your bill, which is a bit petty for a business. read more

Excellent option for classic Vietnamese in East Norriton with very solid executions and generous portions. The pho is the best in the area - light and flavorful without an overabundance of salt or MSG - and the grilled pork chop is tender and flavorful. They use jasmine vs broken rice, but the overall dish is very solid. We also tried the pad thai, which was surprisingly good with plenty of chicken and tender, flavorful noodles topped with egg. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu and yes, they do have bun bo hue as a special. Next time you are craving Vietnamese and want to save yourself the 2.5 hours roundtrip to South Philly, just drop by here. It will hit the spot! read more

This place has been opened for about a year and I recently got take-out a few times. Their Grilled Pork Banh-mi is really good and packed with flavor. The shaking beef I got was a bit chewy and not the best for take-out. Will give it another try while dining in next time. Looking forward to trying their Pho and other delicious items. I have been going to Pho Ngon for a while now with my family. Every single time, the service is friendly and fast. The food is also amazing with plenty of vegetarian options. My personal favorites include the tofu pad thai and Thai tea. The banh mi is very fresh as well! The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and is perfect for a family dinner as there is plenty of space. There's not a lot of Vietnamese restaurants around, so this place is definitely convenient. I ordered Pho Bo vien. The broth is decent but skimpy with meatballs. There was a total of 2 meatballs that were cut in half. $14 for a bowl of pho with 2 meatballs is pricey. read more

However toppings were lacking for a $18 bowl of pho. Pork chop with rice was good. It was tender and tasty. Spring rolls were good. It's on the sweeter side. It was $7.95 for three spring rolls, which is a bit expensive for three. Was expecting at least 4 spring rolls. The food was great! My father and I went in for lunch, ordered the appetizer sampler, Tom yum soup and my dad had some type of squid stir fry dish. I do NOT understand all the good reviews here! I went today for the 1st time and ordered the lunch special lemongrass chicken. I asked the waitress to make it VERY MILD, as I do not like spice. It came out so hot I took one bite and told her I could not eat it, it was SOOOO spicy! She RUDELY told me "We add no spice." They MUST have - it was SUPER hot and spicy! I cook with lemongrass often - it is NOT spicy. Then she REFUSED to take it off my bill!! They charge people for food that wasn't prepared properly then REFUSE to take it off the bill?? So...I told her fine - two can play that game - and to cancel my to-go order which was the much larger order. ONLY when I threatened to do that, did she take the UN-eaten food off my bill! I have had Pho all over the world and I was impressed with the brisket broth from Pho Ngon. My takeout food was very fresh and packaged nicely. The customer service was spot on and the food is reasonably priced. Most Pho restaurants will over salt Pho broths due to not making them from scratch.
