All the pho tai locations have gone down hill over the last 5 years. I was very hesitant when my friend wanted to dine here. To my surprise, the pho at this location was good. The broth was perfect. They also had chilli oil, jalapeños and regular fish sauce. Service is okay, but at a pho establishment I never expect good service. Overall, I would eat here again if I was conveniently in the area. I like the pickle veggie, bbq pork was good, the egg roll was big but I don't like the filling. The service was not great for not being that busy. Another review for our go-to Phó restaurant. After a busy day, we decided to stop in and enjoy a bowl of Ox Tail Phó and a couple of fresh Spring Rolls with a great peanut dipping sauce. There were about two dozen diners when we dropped in around 5:00 PM. The restaurant is located west off PAC Hwy in a strip mall. Next door there's a Korean Bakery & Pastry shop (85°), which has some of the most delectable treats. Back to Phó Tai. The Oxtail was delicious, as usual, but the oxtail could've been cooked just a bit longer to make the meat fall-off-the-bone, but the broth is the best in town. The fresh Spring Rolls are savory and tasty, especially when dipped in the Peanut Dipping Sauce with freshly ground peanuts. Not every restaurant labels these rolls the same so if you want the soft rice paper wraps (not deep fried) make sure you clarify with waitstaff. Deep fried rolls are also available. The young man serving our table was pleasant, timely and provided great service. Highly recommended restaurant. So, if you're in the Federal Way area, drop into Phó Tai for a tasty and filling bowl of soup. By the way, the restaurant does offer other dishes and plates besides soups. read more

A solid late-night pho spot that's open until 11 PM. This is my partner and I's go-to spot when craving hot soup at night, and our food always gets served pretty quick! Their frozen yogurt is really good, it's sour and comes in a pretty good amount. Their Thai Tea is also yummy and comes in a bigger cup compared to other Thai teas that I order at restaurants. As a regular, I enjoy coming to this place, and is very much a comfort spot for me. :) Overall, the ambiance in this place gives a warm and welcoming vibe and it's always decently busy when we go so it goes to show how many other people also enjoy this place as well. We walked in around 7pm on a Friday night. We weren't seated or acknowledged for about 10 minutes. They were busy, so not a big deal. We sat down and waited 10 minutes before a server came. He was quick and efficient. Our food came pretty quickly after. The food was good, but not great. I know a few places with more flavor in the broth. The servers never came by once to check on refills or anything else needed, but yet we had an automatic $17 tip. There's only 5 of us. For $17, you'd think I'd get a refill or a napkin even lmao and then we finished and we're waiting for a box so we can leave and pay their expensive tip, and no one approaches even once. Pho Thai: I ordered the #15 Pho to go. This comes with rib eye steak, fatty flank, tendon and tripe. I received no tendon, beans sprout bag with the jalapeños was slimy. The broth was luke warm and tasted like straight watered down beef broth. I order here cause it's simple to order from. But definitely have to rethink it. This place has gone down hill when it comes to their pho. The broth does not have a rich flavor to it, like I'm use to from other places. I don't know if they were running out of pho broth or what. The Asian lady with the short black hair (she wouldn't give me her name) that is up front behind the desk most of the time has always had the WORST attitude. I'm done with the terrible service, when I order Togo or through DoorDash when I'm not feeling well and they think they are slick by putting the bad parts of the steak for the Togo and they always miss something in your order. The meat from the steak pho when dining in is NOT the same meat as if you were going to order one Togo the Togo "steak" looks like ground chicken. That's wrong! Because they know people won't say as much or go through all the trouble to get money back for a Togo order. I'm tired of most of the workers having such bad attitude and being rude. The only person who is genuinely nice is the shorter Hispanic young lady. She is the SWEETEST! It suck how a spot that is a go to for the community has to be vainly disgusting. It's time something is done about this place. There are better and more genuine pho places near by. You have lost a good customer, a customers friends, family, and their community. I called ahead to put in a order of a chicken fried rice and one chicken teriyaki. When starting to eat my chicken fried rice I saw a piece of shrimp. I'm deadly allergic to shellfish. I called to see if they have known and they asked if I order the combo fried rice. But there was only one piece and the rest chicken. It gets me questioning, do they always just use the same frying pan for all fried rice orderes? The health department should look into this restaurant. It's completely disgusting and awful and I don't wish this on anybody. Im currently heading to the emergency room to get treated. Haven't been here in yeeeaaarsss!! Literally. Was waiting for some pastries at 85 so we decided to walk down to Pho Thai. Because I'm plant based now there aren't many options for me, but my sister insisted on having a chicken banh mi. She spent her entire 20's in Seattle where she would get a banh mi every single week from the small shops in Burien and downtown. So her standards were very very high. When we looked at the options we noticed that all of the banh mi options said BBQ. We were a bit reluctant on that knowing it could be mean either bbq sauce, or just grilled meat. We placed the order and waited. No bad or rude service, kind and helpful with the order. When the sandwich was done it smelt soooooo delicious, so so so delicious. We unwrapped it to strategically placed jalapeños on top lol the first bite was good but something was missing. IT WAS THE CILANTRO!! There was literally none in there. We went back inside and asked about it. She said they put some on and we did check. There was one stem, they did not hesitate to provide us with some more cilantro. All in all, the banh mi turned out to be great! Could've used a bit more seasoning but it was good none the less. And bbq means grilled meat in this case! Still recommend! Hands down my favorite pho place! The chicken is delicious & cut perfectly, it is real chicken. (Some places have rubbery chicken & it's gross, not here). Their fried rice is also amazing, very flavorful I could eat it every day. The egg rolls are always my go to appetizers, the pot stickers aren't anything special they're okay though. They have good Thai tea & bubble tea as well. The service isn't always the best they don't really check on you to see how your food is or if you need anything, but I promise the delicious food makes up for that. Beware of this place. My wife purchased a BBQ pork Vietnamese sandwich this evening around 6pm. Four hours later, she is vomiting has stomach pain and diarrhea. All the food poisoning symptoms. Out of curiosity I searched Pho Tai's health inspection reports with KC Public Health. Pho Tai has a history of violations pertaining to possible food contamination, the lack of clean/ sanitized food surfaces and failure to store food at proper temperatures. All of which lead to food contamination and is the reason why my wife has been on/ off the toilet for 5 hours. We will be filing a complaint with KC Health Board first thing in the morning. We will never go back here again. The Fife location is much better and the floors aren't all greasy and slippery. (Which should have been our first clue). You have been warned. read more

I'm quite disappointed for such a bad service and dirty dish and food :( . We waited almost 30 minutes just to finally get our orders in, not including the time we waited to be sat down so maybe all together 1 hour . I usually like this place because it is our to go to late dinner with my family and friends. I remember calling my brother to ask what he wanted to go, so I knew the time we ordered. 30 minutes later......... we noticed everyone else got their order that was after us and so we asked what's going on. Then the server then proceed to ask if we are ready to order and I had to explain that we have already ordered 30 mins ago. We were quite patient because we know their busy , but the fact that the server name starting with the letter "N and ends with an N" just ignored the fact that his forgotten our order and instead of apologizing he just walked away and started punching in our orders in the computer and started talking in different language (I'm right by the cash register so I saw and heard everything). 10+ minutes later equaling to 40+ minutes our order finally came in slowly. I even had to reach out to them to ask if they could make my bubble tea because even that we didn't get. The only thing that was on my table was the dirty water cups with something kind of white stuff in it. I tried to talked to them nicely about what happened and about our order but they all walked away from me and ignored our concern. Although, the lady just left to make the drink I feel like they were just avoiding us because it so hard to get their attention even though we're right in front of them. We respect the covid guidelines that's why we always ask for help in order to get utensils and other things needed per their sign. However, it seems like people were so close to each other and we were sat down close to another table who is just a chair away and that's not 6 feet away. We even had to ask if we can move because we were so close to everyone else. I couldn't even eat the food that was served because it tasted very chalky the meat was dry even though it's pho ;(. It's hard to explain the texture because if you were to pick it up it broke to tiny little pieces that is even hard to swallow. Even though after everything , we just tried to enjoy each other's company and just ate peacefully and still paid everything even with extra tip. We truly understand it's a tough time , but I hope their attitude and their service gets better because even in the end they continued to ignored us and we had to catch their attention all the time in order to get helped (it's not even busy anymore). The Pho I've had here in Washington is missing some characteristic spice in the broth. That said, Pho Tai serves up pretty good soup. I ordered ribeye and brisket w vegetables to add.
