This place is very authentic. It is quite easy to park and usually not too busy. The interior mainly consists of booths but there are some tables. There is also a fish tank near the back so it is quite a calm place to dine at. I got the grilled porkchop dish and it is always cooked fantastic. I like how the seasonings are light and the portions are perfect to fill you up without feeling gross after. I didn't get it this time around but I would recommend the summer roll as well because the shrimp wrapped in rice paper dipped into the peanut sauce is delectable!! I thought my bowl of pho was on the bland side. I don't usually like to add anything to the broth but I kept adding jalapeno, hoisin sauce, hoping I could spice it up a bit. Good portion but was hoping for a more flavorful bowl. The egg roll tasted amazing! Menu was surprisingly small but had a lot of the popular dishes you would see at other viet restaurants. Extremely worthwhile and underrated! A friend brought me to this small restaurant promising rich and "hits the spot" Pho and it was just that. It's easy to miss when driving by but the food is truly something worth stopping for. Right when you walk in, staff makes it easy to order or pickup takeout and you're more than welcome to take a seat at one of the booths or tables. Our waitress who I believe might also be the owner was kind and helpful when ordering as well! I even brought my mother and few months later who is often not fond of new foods and she finished the whole bowl better than me! Our Pho came with a small plate full of bean sprouts, mint leaves, cilantro, and limes on the side to add as you please. A bowl alone is enough to fill you up for a while but the appetizers shouldn't be forgotten either. My mom who makes good salsa/chile and sauce at home was a big fan of the chili oil they had too! This place is a little taste of home. Born and raised in SF, having access to good Vietnamese food was never an issue. Fortunately, whenever I'm missing home, I come here to get some pho or a rice plate, the pork chop and fried chicken are good. The portion sizes aren't as big as I'm use to. While I mostly order from here for pick-up, I have eaten inside a few times. They don't always have everything on the menu so haven't gotten to try all the things I want but the service is good considering they only seem to have one server at all times. First time for Vietnamese food so I may not know what I'm talking about. So let's start with the restaurant. Right between Le Andros (a favorite breakfast place) and Buffalo pizza and wings (Buffalo NY style pizza that is OMG good) in a low traffic strip mall. Inside is nice, the waitress was a sweet you lady that struggles with English. The food was bland. My uncle had Vietnamese food before and said there was a powder you sprinkled on the food to spice it up but this place did not have it. The April rolls were fantastic. Today was pretty chilly and I was in the mood for some pho. I actually haven't had pho since I moved to Michigan from Washington, DC three years ago. I was thankful to find a pho place close to my house that had good reviews! I went ahead and drove over and I was really glad I did! The space is new and it was really nice inside. I was greeted and seated right away. It was pretty busy for a Monday night, but the weather is bleh so everyone had my same idea. Standard Vietnamese pho menu, so I opted for the spring rolls and summer rolls, shrimp fried rice for the kiddo and I got the beef pho #4. Our small plates came out fast, and were really delicious. But the main star is the pho. The broth is really flavorful. That's the sign of a good pho, when you don't have to add anything to it, it's just made really well. Alton Brown said it's a sin to put sriracha in anything, guess I'll take my chances! I heaped some sriracha, hoisin and chili into my pho along with the bean sprouts, Thai basil and peppers. This was a really delicious bowl of pho, I will probably dream about it tonight and be happy I have some left over for lunch tomorrow. Definitely a great find, good food, good prices, great service! This is more a 3.5 for me but i rounded up to 4 because they are very nice people that are working their butts off. If you dont want to drive all the way to Madison Heights, this is a decent pho spot. It fell a little short for me because on a busy Sunday night, they only had 1 person working the front and I swear i didnt see her stop moving for even a second while we were there. Very busy taking phone orders and preparing carry outs, all while waiting on our table and the 4 others. So once we were seated, it took her a long time to come back and get our order. They have a very limited menu, so if you're looking for a larger more authentic vietnamese dining experience, this is not the place. My husband wanted a smoothie as well and she informed us they do not make any smoothies at this time. Finally, a pho place on Hall Rd. We needed one, don't you think? It really makes some good comfort food on a gray, freezing cold Michigan day! It's cute inside, with bamboo walls. On a Saturday around 1:30 it was pretty busy, but we were able to get a table with no problem. The menu has quite a few things on it that looked pretty tempting (it helps that they have pictures of some of the entrees, since I'm not all that familiar with Vietnamese food). But we knew we were going there for pho, so that helped make the decision pretty easy! I had the chicken, and my daughter had the beef. The bowls were huge. I really enjoyed mine a lot. The broth was flavorful, and I almost felt like I didn't really even need the chicken. There's a lot of chicken in the bowl, they don't skimp. I tried my daughter's beef and it was really tender. We both enjoyed our bowls of pho. I sprinkled a generous amount of bean sprouts on mine for some crunch! Service was friendly and efficient. I took a coffee to go. I thought it would be hot, but it was cold. Although I hadn't really counted on a cold coffee, it was so good! If you like coffee strong and sweet, try it. I'm confused on the good reviews here. We dined in recently, and didn't get any water. When asked about it, they said it was because of the boil water advisory. It was lifted a while back but ok? She said soda was available for purchase. Hrm. Honestly, Meijer is adjacent to this business. Would of been nice if they supplied water bottles for the mean time. The food is mediocre at its best. Love this place! They are a little pricier but comes with quality. Finally there is a vietnamese restaurant on the north west side of everything! I've actually checked in a few times but it didn't save. As I write this review, I've probably been here 6 or 7 times this year. Everytime I come I order something different. I like trying new things, yes I'm not afraid. I've liked every dish that I had. This particular time I ordered the chicken pho (pho ga). Instead of the beefy pho that I've had before here, itself made with chicken broth. Super delicious and very satisfying. Much better than the pho places in Madison Heights, but the broth had a bit of grease floating on the top, and the depth of flavor was a close second to my favourite Vietnamese restaurant in Clinton Township. I really enjoyed the pho, and will be back when near Hall Rd. I especially LOVED the hot ginger tea. I suspect there was sweetener in it, although the waitress indicated they do not add sugar, but that it was a powder. But, it was very comforting. I look forward to trying some other dishes as well. They are always closed at the weirdest times, the food is ok but I'm always worried about the cleanliness of the place. If you go into the restroom just look at how filthy the mirror is, or look at the front door looks like it's never been cleaned. However I will say that the people are friendly, the food is passable but not the best Vietnamese around to be had. The prices are way over priced there compared to before but I guess that's the Covid price increase bandwagon at work. So in a pinch it will do, but the cleanliness of the front of the house makes you wonder about the back of the house. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by Pho Special. When I think of Vietnamese I generally think Madison Heights, not Macomb. I ended up here as a result of the restaurant I was planning on for late lunch being closed. The atmosphere is pleasant, the interior nicer than many of its southern counterparts. The service was excellent as well, and fast! Granted I ate during a very slow time of the day, but it seemed like the food was ready immediately. The menu, at least for lunch, is simple, all the mains are there, but there is not a huge selection. I ordered some fresh rolls and their classic pho without tripe (I've tried but just not a fan). Their classic also includes thinly sliced beef, meatballs and brisket. It comes in a giant bowl, hot!, with all the expected sides to add in as desired. Awesome pho, will be back! read more

Clean and cozy environment with friendly service. Since it's cold outside and I'm under the weather, I figured some hot tea and pho would fix me right up! The service was very friendly and was very prompt, especially since he was the only person working it seemed - he did the register, bus tables, and serve tables. I had the ginger tea - sipping on it is one thing. But the aftertaste? Spicy and strange. I couldn't finish it, it was so strong. I also ordered the Vietnamese spring rolls (#2), which were ok, not my favorite. The texture of the outside layer was too chewy for my liking. I wouldn't order them again. But I would try the other roll appetizer next time! Lastly, the chicken pho (#5) was so heavenly and perfect on a cold day! It is sure to clean your sinuses away. Went on opening day of the restaurant. Clean, comfortable, modern interior. The menu is not too big or intimidating, but we were here for the pho. Although we did get a couple of apps which were nice. We ordered the house pho special and the kitchen happily omitted a few items for a nine year old. The pho stock was clean, clear, and not too aggressive. Of course there are plenty of options to doctor it up if you like. The meats in the pho were very tender. I love love love this place. Out on my side of town, there really are no Vietnamese restaurants. The only place that sells pho is a Chinese restaurant on Hayes, which isn't comparable. I didn't have the pho here, because it's been too hot to have soup, both times I've been here I've had their grilled pork chops to go. The staff is very friendly from the time I call in the order to when I pick up my order. The menu is quite small but they have all the familiar Vietnamese dishes you can ask for. The grilled pork chops are always marinated perfectly, and you get two pork chops. The portion sizes are always huge too. It comes with a green onion soup which sounds plain but actually has a lot of flavor. It is my first time trying a Vietnamese restaurant. And I am not disappointed at all. The restaurant is very clean. The soup tastes good. Everything is fresh, especially the veggies. Very crunchy, as if they just take it from their own garden. The minced shrimp is very good. And there's lots of food for the pho. I only able to eat 1/4 of it and bring home the rest. Enough for my lunch next day. At the next visit, I tried fried rice with half fried chicken. The chicken is delicious! With savory and a little bit sweet taste, sprinkled with sauteed green onions which has sweet taste. The fried rice is also abundant. I ended up bring home the rest too. Oh, don't forget to try the condiments. There are two types. One with garlic and jalapeno slices, and the other one is red and oily with some anchovies I think. The red one is recommended, it's spicy! When you eat at a Vietnamese restaurant, it is normal to feel full soon. Because you also consume lots of fresh veggies. First time coming in today. It's nice having a Vietnamese restaurant near by so I don't have to drive all the way down to Madison Heights. The restaurant atmosphere was clean and comfortable to dine in and the service was great. I asked for water but the sweet lady also gave me some hot tea because it was cold outside today. I ordered bún bò hu (Spicy Beef Noodle Soup). The broth had so much flavor. The texture of the rice vermicelli was just right. I've never had bún bò hu this good at any other restaurant. They bring out the food really fast too and they give a good portion of the meal too. One bowl was enough to fill me up. I will definitely be coming back. :) read more
