We stopped here on a whim and it was truly a delight ! We had Tom Kha soup it was very good and full of chicken. The rice soup it was so good lots of rice and chicken with a mild flavor soup " rice " flavor. The chicken and cashews had peppers and carrots with small corn. Flavor was delicate with a nice spice . Perfect for a light lunch. The curry was very good tasted creamy with a lot of delicious veggies. We ordered a bag of shrimp chips to go and a fried ice cream to top it off ( and then, not a light lunch anymore but so worth it !) if your driving by I will tell you stopping in for a little snack will delight you as well! My friend and I do lunch on a regular basis and try to mix up where we go. We decided on Chinese food, but after hitting up two different Chinese food places that weren't open for dine in (and carry out only) we ended up here on my friends suggestion. I do love me some Thai food and I forget how good it is when done correctly. This place seems to do it right! Walking in, we were greeted and sat ourselves at a little table off to the side and were given menus to review. I started out with Crab Rangoon since it's one of my favorites. I docked a star for this because when it came out, it looked like an egg roll, and they were very very small. I got a total of 5 "sticks" and even though I ate every single one, I didn't find them to be as good as if they were to come out in their traditional looking way. Makes me think they are either, at the very least NOT made on site, and *gasp* from Gordon Food Service! Anyway, I went with Pad Thai and got the Mild + spice. Not to hot, not to bland. Maybe I can step it up next time around! My friend got the drunken noodles, but remember, she has literally no tolerance for spice, so she thought it was too hot. It wasn't. She just doesn't have a good tolerance for much of anything spicier than water. (don't tell her I said that.) Thai Delight in Utica was okay -- not the best Thai food I've had, but not the worst either. The food was average overall. It seems to be more of a carryout spot, though they do have a decent dine-in setup. Service was fine, nothing to complain about. I've heard their Troy location offers more authentic Thai flavors, so that might be worth checking out next time. read more

The last time i tried to call in a pickup order, the first guy didn't understand what I wanted OR the sauce, so he handed over the phone, and the next woman said she was cancelling my order and Id have to come in to place it cuz if she got the sauce wrong, I'd complain to her. Best Thai food we have found in the area! Their flavors and spicy levels are accurate. The restaurant is a nice size. It is very welcoming and clean. The ambiance is more of a sit-down lunch or take out. It is nicely decorated and the lady that runs the front/ waiters is super nice and friendly. We decided to stop by for lunch. This place was recommended by a colleague of my husband. We ordered 1 curry, a pad Thai, a Thai basil fried rice, and a fried fish dish. We were hungry and curious about the dishes they had to offer. Most likely we were going to have leftovers, but that was okay with us. Our food came out quickly except for the fish because it was made to order. I was automatically attracted to the curry dish. It was so good, and the flavor was great. We ordered medium spicy and IMO it was the perfect level. My husband ordered fried rice at the spiciest level, and it was delicious. By the time the fish dish came out, we were both hungry and only tasted a little bit of it. The fish was fried perfectly but we did wish the sauce wasn't too sweet. AND IT'S WONDERFUL!!!! I ordered the Pad Thai Curry with chicken. I would like to point out that this is different than a traditional Pad Thai. It includes coconut milk and red curry sauce. Does that sound absolutely decadent? Damn right it is. I'm sure it was 2000 calories all in itself and it was worth over new fat cell I grew. The flavors, oh so many flavors and I ordered it medium heat and it was absolutely perfect. It gave it kick without overpowering the flavor. I have an absolutely favorite dish to go to now and I couldn't be happier. The portions are immense and cost around $13-17 (dinner size). The interior is very simple, like I said, much better suited for carryout or quick meal. I haven't stopped in here to eat at Thai Delight in about 10 years honestly. I was in the area and had to see if they still had the great service and food that I remembered. The answer was yes they do and then some. WOW! It was like going home for the holidays. Maybe not that extreme but close. I ordered the Pad Thai chicken cashew dinner and a side of spring rolls. The portions on the dinner are big enough for 2. The dinner and spring rolls are fresh and filled with flavor. When ordering you have a choice of mild, medium and hot. I chose hot and it was perfect. I like the location even though it's in a strip mall it still has plenty of parking and isn't really busy. The also keep the lot clean. The restaurant is clean as can be and I like that when you order at the counter the kitchen is right there so you can see the order being made. They're very talented and love the show. I ordered Gang Tua, which clearly states it has peppers, eggplant and basil. I was given a completely different meal, which had just pork and green beans. Only reason I even received pork was because I paid an addional charge for it, therefore I would have just gotten a meal of sauce and green beans? I came here with coworkers for lunch. One of my coworkers is a regular. The food comes out exactly as you order it. Which is always a key when ordering Thai dishes. The one coworker who is a regular did say that their mild is not so spicy. A different coworker took them at their word and ordered a spicier dish then he would normally and yet he did say that it had it had a good flavor. This restaurant is across from Target on M59. It is relatively easy to find and get in and out given that there is a light right in front of it. The food was quite filling. It was also very helpful to note that this is not a restaurant that caters to only American Thai tastes as there were other customers in the restaurant that were Thai. I also ordered A7 Curry puff which was ok. The cucumber sauce that came with it was kind of sweet and not something I would want to dip the puff in so I ate it alone. My boyfriend is a huge fan of thai food, and sadly I do not eat it. He decided he didnt want to try it, even though it was near us, because he wanted to eat with me. Today, I decided to look up thai food near me. I saw the menu and my boyfriend mentioned loving Pad Woon Seen. There was too different kinds, so I could not surprise him. I called him and asked what type of meat he wanted, and discovered they had seafood options. The meal comes with a large side of white rice. The dinner options are normally $10.95 and only a dollar more for seafood. I chose squid and asked the lady if I could add shrimp as well. She said it would be $3, which was fine by me. They also have peanut sauce on the side for $1.50. When he picked up the food and opened it, he was surprised by the amount of rice and the food itself. He couldn't even finish, and he was starving. This could fill up two people for sure. My boyfriend had this in the past as noodles, but this version was soupy version. He said it had a sweet taste with a tang to it, and it was all very smooth. The flavors blended together well. The noodles tasted delicious. The squid with shrimp added to it was amazing. The peanut sauce was poured on top and added an excellent touch to the meal. There wasn't a single bite that did not burst with flavor. He was excited to have so much leftover for work tomorrow. He was super surprised to see the large amount of rice that was leftover as well. First, let's talk about spice. I ordered medium level, which for me is sufficient at Bangkok, but here I could have upped it to hot. But I usually play it safe my first time at a Thai place. Now I know. The potstickers, while tasty, were small and a little dry. Wouldn't order again. The basil fried rice was one of the best I've ever had, though! It was loaded with medium sized shrimp, and kudos to this place for removing the shells and tails - I hate when restaurants serve shrimp that way. And the basil was plentiful and super fresh. Loved it. The pad ped was good, nice blend of red curry and coconut milk, but I would prefer green peppers only - I'm not a fan of red and yellow peppers. The chicken was very tender.
