I have been coming to this restaurant for well over two decades. I have to say that I haven't been here in a year or two and wow it's really changed. My go to menu item has always been the vermicelli with chicken and in the last couple years I've been eating that dish around the corner and a very high rated place. Today was feeling nostalgic and wanted to go back for my bun/vermicelli with chicken that I loved endlessly at this location. However, I was sad to get the dish handed to me that didn't look normal. I was kind of excited about the amount of chicken that was on the dish, but I could tell that it wasn't the same, and then once I started eating it, I was sorely disappointed the flavor of the chicken was just so wrong. Nothing was the same. The noodles were overcooked. I didn't have any cucumbers. I was very sad to say that I will not be ordering this dish here again. This isn't the greatest restaurant to begin with because you have to trip over all of the homeless people just to get inside and there's potholes in the parking lot. The bathroom is disgustingly dirty there's dust all over the condiment containers have crust on them, but I would always be happy to come here for my old favorite or unfortunately, it's no longer here. I knew something had changed when I walked in normally, the place is pot for lunch and in the late hours. Of course I avoid this place like the plague in the late hours but today I came for lunch prime time 1230pm; Nobody was in here super sad.
Food and service: This is a solid choice for food and service. The food is always good and the service is top notch. You're always greeted and welcomed by the staff when you walk in. Ambiance: This is a great place for large and small groups.
We like pho xe lua (opposite restaurant) so much, but decided to try this restaurant since they're closer to each other and wanted to try something different. The service was great, staffs were helpful. I like their grilled pork and shrimp spring rolls, it's very flavorful, the dipping sauce was really matched well with the spring rolls. However the Saigon special beef pho was a bit bland, the soup was quite lacking in flavor.
Ample seating, huge menu with all your favorite Vietnamese dishes, and surprisingly they have Thai food as well. The pho is solid, as is the bun bo hue, served hot with all the fixings - and they do not skimp on ingredients at all. BUT, don't just hit it and quit it - get some appetizers too. My absolute favorite appetizer there are the Salt and Pepper Wings, they are fried to a crisp, so delicious and come with lightly stir-fried seasoned onions and bell peppers! I could seriously just get the S&P wings and a side of rice and be the happiest girl. We really like coming here because its one of the few Vietnamese spots that are open late until 10PM, and the service is great too! Let me tell you how good the service is, while I was eating there, a man that looked like he'd just gotten off work walked in at closing time, and asked for takeout, fried rice. They told him no, that they were done cooking and were cleaning the kitchen. Understandable. As he was walking out, they called him back and told him they'd cook for him. He was so happy to order his fried rice. This type of hospitality keeps us coming back.
I have been dinning at Pho Saigon for many years. Typically, the quality of the food is hit or miss. I ordered on Door Dash for the beef stew noodle soup and the crispy fried chicken. Surprisingly, everything was perfectly delicious. The broth was very flavorful. The chicken was tender and juicy. These 2 items will be my go to orders for future visits.
I only order vegan & vegetarian and they do a great job of accommodating if you just ask. The staff is very friendly as well. My only negative: the bathrooms don't look like they've had a real cleaning in years and it's needed.
If I could give this place 19377282 stars I would. Service was incredible. The older gentleman is hilarious. Pho came out SO fast and was absolutely delicious. My stepmom is Vietnamese so I grew up eating this stuff. The Salted Cream Coffee... chefs kiss. The outside is a little rough but the inside is so clean and beautiful. I will absolutely be back!
The food was pretty good! As a Viet person myself I thought the flavoring was very rich compared to other places I've been. The service was very nice and our server was very nice. The place itself was decorated very nicely, and with the fish tank it totally reminded me of being at the Asian market with my grandparents when I was little haha Would go again!

The staff is super welcoming from when you come in until the time you leave. I got the usual which is the number 13. It always comes out hot and delicious. This time I was craving rice so I got the barbecue pork fried rice. The portion size was huge! I've never had a bad experience here. If you do not want to dine in, they also have to go orders that you can place.
I have been coming to Pho Saigon since i was a teenager along with my Bff Sister Margarita, i have tried other Pho restaurants but nothing compares (Pho Sho) Pho Saigon is number one. And today i came with my Sister Cassandra we were greeted by Ahn she was very welcoming and showed us to our table she handed us a menu and Ahn came to take our order within 5 min that was just fine because i already know which Pho bowl i get the Pho is absolutely delicious perfect flavors fresh veggies i always get number 13 and pork bbq spring rolls and shrimp rolls they come with some bomb peanut sauce, I'm telling you this is fire!!!! Spacious floor plan was very clean , tables were clean and not sticky, good lighting and led lights around the front door made us feel happy! The bathroom has one stall but wow was it clean not even dust, smelled really good. Try them out if you haven't, if you have you already know !!!

My husband and I used to frequent Pho Saigon before we got married and had our daughter! It's been years since we visited, but while driving down Stockton Blvd last weekend, we drove by and it sounded good to all 3 of us for lunch! The inside was clean and just how I remembered it. They used to only have one size for their Pho, so I was happy to see that they now offer different sizes. We ordered the Egg Rolls, Chicken Noodle Soup, Beef Balls Noodle Soup and one of the Beef Soups. We also ordered a Bahn Mi to try, and my daughter got a Mango Smoothie with Popping Boba. Everything was so good, fresh and just how I remembered it from 10 years ago! They even had a "new arrivals" menu that is available after 11am everyday which consisted of a Crab and Pork Meatballs Tofu Noodle Soup, a Vietnamese Pancake and even a Sizzling Beef Hot Plate that looked delicious! I have also always been a fan of their Shrimp Spring Rolls and their Coconut Smoothies! Staff were very friendly and gracious - it was a breath of fresh air! Overall, Pho Saigon might not be the best Pho in Sacramento, but it is special to my husband and I - it brings back a lot of memories and holds a special place in our hearts. We will be back soon! This place is very large however the service was not good at all. They were rude and not very helpful when it came to questions. I ordered the egg rolls which were good. The pho was not good at all, it lacked flavor. The Vietnamese coffee was good as well! I will not be returning. read more

Generally speaking, when I'm in a different area from my usual haunts, I try to stick to places that are highly rated or that have been recommended to me. However, there are plenty of times where, for one reason or another, circumstances doesn't really allow for that. Sometimes it's because of the hour or what's going on, other times it's just because convenience had to be optimized. Or in the case with Pho Saigon, where it was getting relatively late on NYE and our options for dinner felt pretty limited. Not that I would ever really say "no" to checking out a new pho joint, especially on such a frigid night - who knew Sacramento could get so cold! Pulling up to Pho Saigon, it almost felt like seeing a beacon of light on an otherwise quiet and dark street (minus the illegal fireworks going off overhead). Inside, this place looks like just about every other pho joint, albeit with a lot more seating than you might expect (there even looked to be a side room with even more tables). Similarly, the menu is deceptively large - along your typical slate of starters, pho, bun, and rice plates, they also have a sizable collection of Chinese dishes too (think more like fried rice, Honey Walnut Prawns, Mongolian Beef, and Peking Spareribs than specialized dishes). They also technically have Thai dishes on the menu too, but it's really just limited to a few dishes, like Pad Thai and Pad Kee Mao. -- (#20) FRIED CALAMARI (Muc Lan Bot Chien)...$14 (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/pho-saigon-sacramento-3?select=3JFowuF-JpkkyweJ1iVv8g) On the one hand, the portion was generous and the calamari was crispy. On the other, I'd be hard pressed to say they were any better than okay. The calamari needed some seasoning (it was flavorless on its own) and they were fairly oily/greasy. -- (#5) BEEF NOODLE SOUP with RARE STEAK, WELL DONE FLANK, TENDON (Pho Bo Tai, Nam, Gan)...$14 Large (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/pho-saigon-sacramento-3?select=Vw891jH3A1kTXPSDdxtr2g) As with the Fried Calamari, the portion for this was huge. Like, HUGE - it's far bigger than most large portions I've had. However, aside from being loaded with meat and noodles, this was just okay. The tendon was great and I liked the flank (though a few pieces were fatty), but the broth was fairly generic. Given how mediocre the food was, it's tough to get too excited about their large portions and service here was pretty uneventful, good or bad. As such, the best thing about Pho Saigon is really just how convenient they are - the to of seating for groups large or small, the wealth of spaces in their lot, and how they're open relatively late (until 10pm). In that regard, they're great if you're just looking for something easy and are okay with a no frills sort of experience. Otherwise, if you're looking to optimize for better tasting pho, I assume you can probably find better elsewhere. All in all, TWO AND A HALF STARS is about right for the food, but rounded up for everything else. read more

Nope. Not for me. I came here and gave it a try since it opens until 10pm. The server took one my orders wrong. I ordered spring rolls, roasted duck rice plate, bbq pork and wontons noodle soup. The spring rolls were decent and sauce was on point. The bbq pork and wonton soup though, nope. There's pork and mushroom inside the wontons, not typical shrimps and pork. The ratio of pork and mushrooms were not right, the BBQ pork was dry and tasteless, broth was full of MSG. The roasted duck was not roasted, more like fried duck, not great. No next time! read more

I had been craving Pho and wanted try a new place. My family and I ordered the charbroiled pork, prawn, and egg roll with vermicelli. The prawn and pork were not seasoned well and the shrimp had a weird taste. Also, ordered the pho with beef noodle soup with rare steak, flank, tendon, and tripe. The pho had a flavorful taste and good portion of meat. Ordered the bbq fried rice which had no flavor but good amount. Lastly, ordered the Peking pork, good flavor and there was a good amount. I did call in my order it took 20 minutes for it to be done. I paid in total $58. read more

I've been this place few times and it never disappoints me. Hubby and I came here early dinner before it gets bz, ordered some Pho and combo plate. We also ordered fried rice and bake mussels , everything taste good and fried rice have alot of chicken and flavorful . I love this place. Everything about is amazing. The food is amazing. The service is amazing. The people remember who you are when you come in they know what you want. The atmosphere is great. It's a real family oriented place like I said the people remember who you are they remember what you want I love this place so much. The food is so great. This is our favorite Vietnamese cuisine by far! We always order the crispy Egg Rolls with fish sauce and Shrimp & Tofu Spring Rolls with extra Peanut sauce. In colder weather, we always order the Pho soups and in warmer weather James orders the Chicken with Black Bean Sauce which looked scrumptious and I order the Shrimp with Mixed Greens (Bok Choy, Broccoli, Baby Corn and Mushrooms!!) The last time Joe K and I had eaten here was when we went to a Yelp event in which there was a Pho eating contest, but this was several years ago. We remembered that the Pho was very good and a popular dish with our fellow Yelpers. This time we met a relative / friend here to catch up and also have a leisurely lunch together. The menu offers a nice variety of different options from Vietnamese to Chinese dishes. I especially appreciated the vegetarian selections. We started off with a Fried Calamari appetizer. Which was OK but the batter was excessively greasy. I ordered the Vegetarian Special Dish that had a delicious mixture of Asian style veggies, along with fried tofu. It included white rice. I really enjoyed my food. Joe and his cousin ordered the Saigon Special Beef Noodle soup that comes with a side of bean sprouts, basil leaves, hot pepper and a wedge of lime. You add as much or as little as you want to flavor and customize your Pho. They serve large portions of food, so we ended up taking left overs home. Service was friendly and prompt in the beginning, but once you are served, they kind of left us alone, until we waved at someone to get attention at the end of our meal. Apparently, they don't bring a bill to your table. You have to pay at the register and remind them of what you ordered! We had a nice and relaxing lunch. I've been coming here since 2015 and not once have I been disappointed. I admit the place and location could be better but the pho is what keeps me and my family going to this place. The broth is flavorful and meat tender and my favorite thing is the eggrolls! The service is fast and kind read more
