Overall the quality has deteriorated and this establishment is heading in the wrong direction. There are a few more pho establishments competing within a drivable distance that may have attributed to this decision. It's a business losing sight of authenticity and cutting back aggressively. Competition seems to have made the pho establishments worse versus better in the area. The loss of the only Vietnamese grocery may be a reason as well. The Gỏi cuốn rolls were bland while the peanut sauce was very watery and lack depth of flavors (thankfully the different spices and sauces were available on the table). No more crushed peanuts too. Pho now comes with bean lime, sprouts, basil, and jalapeño. No other herbs throughout the dinner. It was quite noticeable with the Cha Gio served with two small romaine leaves. It was an eating experience that I would never desire to repeat. Hopeful, the owners will turn the place around and offer the variety and authenticity from years ago.

Authentic Vietnamese spot! This does the job, good prices. I've had better vegetarian broth but I don't blame them. I do wish it had tofu in it. Pho is originally with beef broth. Going here is like going to eat pho at your auntys house it's so cute. Their cha gio is good

I'm so happy to finally find an authentic Vietnamese place in CT, so I don't have to go to NYC for a good bowl of pho. The pho is really delicious and VERY cheap. $8 for medium, $9 for large. The owners are super nice. They do close early though. We went on a Sunday and it's closed by 7pm.

Enjoyed a delicious lunch here. The pho soup was spectacular . Summer rolls are tasty and fresh. A nice selection of condiments too. Service is excellent and very friendly. Restaurant is very clean. I had the soup twice this week!

Went to this Restaurant for the first time last week and was blown away! The food was so delicious, it truly is a hole in the wall of amazing Pho. All of the people who work there are so friendly and kindhearted and you can taste that in the food! Can't wait to go again soon!

Small little restaurant on the corner of wood ave. I love Pho so much my friend recommended me to come here. Food was amazing, they already had so many great reviews I had to see for myself and they did not disappoint. Very casual place, I got the chicken Pho. This dish was packed with flavor and tasted amazing with every bite. When talking to the owners they say they don't fry any of their food so this also offers a healthy option for places to go. Food was awesome, if you like Pho this is a must visit.

So frickin' good! My friend had a craving for pho and I figured I'd tag along....and down he brought me to my high school roots. Hello, Bridgeport. Just like everyone else...tiny little hole in the wall and located pretty much in someone's house. But the pho...the pho is delicious. My friend stuck with the traditional pho on this trip and I opted for tofu in a peanut sauce. His pho was perfect-great beef and very flavorful! Loved my peanut sauce...had just enough heat. I will definitely be heading back here. For those of you who think it's in a "shady" neighborhood...it's really not that bad. The food is so worth it.

Great food at a very affordable price. I don't normally enjoy vietnamese food, but this place always leaves me feeling satisfied.

I could eat here everyday. I love the soup #1 and beef cubes #18. The owners and staff are great too.

Now our favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Fairfield County and there is no #2…read more Cozy little clean sit down and it smells great inside. Wait staff were very friendly and food was prompt. Had Bun Xao and Pho Ga, and my son meant to order rare beef pho but accidentally ordered beef stew, but he had zero regrets it was delicious with huge chunks of beef. I've never had Vietnamese beef stew before but it was very much like American except with vermicelli noodles. My Pho was excellent, but I would have appreciated a bit more protein and it seemed to be lacking a little in saltiness could have been light on salt, soy or fish sauce. Easily remedied at the table. The bun xao also would have appreciated a bit more protein. I cant emphasize enough these were minor issues. Pricing was very good, no complaints.

Service was friendly and helpful and the establishment was very clean including the restrooms. We started out with a pot of hot tea which was so welcomed. The beef stew pho was excellent, warming, and fresh. The fried rice was delicious. Parking can be challenging to find, but other than that we would highly recommend. We are looking forward to trying many more dishes here.

There's a new(ish) Vietnamese restaurant in town and it's well worth a try. VanDo Pho is owned by…read morethe guy who also owns Yankee Discount Muffler, which is right next store, and yes, he's the guy who stars in his own TV commercial with his grandkids. Anyway, he was there last night and is a really nice person. He told us that he wants everyone to be able to enjoy delicious Vietnamese food that's also healthy -- and everything we ate last night really was delicious and felt healthy. We started off with his homemade limeade and that was very tasty. The tart and the sweet flavors had a perfect balance. We ordered what they called eggrolls but to me were really friend spring rolls. They were crispy, flavorful and not a bit greasy. We then had the grilled pork chops over rice and the shrimp pho. The pork chop had a good flavor and the pho broth was really nice, as were the shrimp. The restaurant was not that busy so we hope that more people discover and try it. They have a parking lot and the restaurant is right on Boston Avenue so the next time you're thinking of going out for Vietnamese please give VanDo Pho a try.

Their menu choices probably need to be expanded to attract high school students (and others) who might otherwise go out of their way for bánh mì sandwiches or creative Thai cooking rather than their meager main course choice of soup, a pork chop or a chicken leg. I had the beef pho and ordered the chicken wings and egg rolls to go - which were a replacement for the spring rolls which I'd gone there to try, but were not available. The blonde wood tables and freshly painted walls created a clean environment, supplemented with a shining new stainless steel kitchen. There's a traffic light to help your exit onto busy Boston Ave., and it has its own parking lot. Service was prompt and polite. The waiter and chef weren't wearing masks. I should have left at that point. The pho was sub par; the beef was very chewy, the broth lacking that sweet/hot ginger beef bone punch. The mandatory accompaniment of cilantro, bean sprouts and mint or Thai basil was MIA. Hubs declared the chicken wings to be very tough, and the egg rolls looked and tasted like the generic-probably-purchased-frozen-in-bulk type. Wish I could be more pro-pho about this place, but here's to hoping things will improve.

I had the following and do recommend each of them: -Bahn mi: authentic ingredients, only negative is there's no clean way to eat it but the bread is perfectly toasted, the pickled veggies are crunchy and refreshing. -Grapefruit tea -Pork belly buns, I was so pleased at the quality of the meat. You could practically drink it. The flavor overall was fantastic -Simple Pho: broth is very pleasant and reminiscent of my favorite pho place so this really stood out to me. Added an egg which was perfectly soft boiled. The ambiance was bar-like on one end, and had a separate nice dining area with Interesting light fixtures and decor. Wait staff was very kind!

The broth was nice--if you're used to Japanese ramen or Taiwanese beef noodle soup, you might expect something richer, but this is exactly how pho should taste. By pho standards, it's a solid dish, though the beef ball could be better. The pork belly bao was excellent and full of flavor. My wife ordered salmon with ramen noodles and said the salmon was perfectly seared; she loved it. We also tried a few boba teas, and they were all tasty. Our total was just over $90, which felt fair. This is a great spot worth supporting--a unique and satisfying meal. Great service and ambience.
