If you don't mind poor service while eating tasty food, this place is for you. My Viet father would've lost his damn mind had he been eating lunch with me, my kids, and my brother. We asked for appetizers to be served before pho, the waiter repeated the request back to us, but it all the food came out at once so they table became crowded. We weren't given napkins until I had to get up and ask for them. We had to ask for missing items. The Thai tea tasted like the tea was burnt-it had a chemical taste. However, the pho tai, eggs rolls, and spring rolls were A-OK as usual. I just don't want to be made to feel like a barn animal having food tossed at it, or sense annoyance when I politely request the things I paid for. Also, the two black flies that buzzed around our booth were gross. Because Pho Pasteur has the best Viet food in Lancaster, I'll only order take out from here forward. read more

One of my go to places to get pho. Great food, nice restaurant and great waitstaff. I usually get a large P17 (Pho), and the B1 (Bahn mi). They definitely have one of the better Vietnamese hoagies around, I just wish they still made the bread for the rolls in house. The only downside to this place is the wait at times, and the cleanliness. But other than that it's a great place to eat, and I highly recommend! read more

Ordered pho tai sach (steak and tripe) with the beef on the side (to prevent the beef being too well done). Charge $1 for having the beef on the side (no where on the menu was this listed). $1 DOLLAR! also came with 4 pieces of thinly sliced tripe. Ordered Bun Bo Hue, asked for shrimp sauce to enhance the flavor. The waiter asked the cook, the cook asked "why?" The waiter explained that the customer had requested it. Didn't get the shrimp sauce until after the table was cleaned and delivered with the check. Spring rolls lacked pork. read more

I have gotten takeout from this place about a half-dozen times. I'd hoped it would be a great place, as I love Vietnamese food... but it's steadily gone downhill. I note fewer and fewer cars in their parking lot each time I pass by; obviously, the bloom is off this rose. Atmosphere: Lousy, which is why I have only gotten take out. Old Denny's, bright lights, no music--i.e. no atmosphere. Staff: I called in my order on my last visit, and arrived about 15 minutes later. The young guy that "greeted" me was befuddled when I noted there was a mistake with my order: he had me down for 5 orders of fried eggrolls. (I think he misheard my request for "fried" as "five" somehow.) He then acted like it was my fault. He scribbled on his little note pad, crossed things off, recalculated--a couple of times! I suggested he might use a fresh page in his pad as he continued scribbling... Finally, he got it right, put through the charge, and I signed the slip. I did not leave a tip--why would I???? The kicker for me was, after the order was fixed, I stood at the counter waiting. And waited. And waited. Having called 15 minutes earlier, I waited at the counter for nearly 1/2 hour. I was given NO indication that I'd have a long wait for my simple order. Had I been placed in the "penalty box?," I wondered. Ridiculous. As I waited, a young women came in who had also called in an order. She was given her receipt, and added a tip. The surly young man suddenly mustered his customer service skills, and thanked her profusely. He then, with fawning deference, directed her to take a seat and be comfortable while her order was being prepared. So much for being respectful to one's elders--courtesy will cost you $5 in this situation. I won't be back. Food: The broth in their signature Pho is flavorful but too GREASY. It is very HOT and melts its plastic take-out containers, which then leak into their cheap plastic takeout bags. What has totally grossed me out recently is their mushy shrimp in their Shrimp Pho. I don't know WHAT they do... My imagination paints a picture of a big awful tub of waterlogged shrimp and unsafe food handling. It was truly revolting and was promptly transferred into my kitchen trashcan. Another peeve, they are tight with their "peanut sauce" for spring rolls. I've certainly had better than this odd, watery/grainy concoction, unlike what is served at other Vietnamese restaurants. I'm convinced they mix the "good stuff' with water and/or other mystery ingredients. But just TRY to get an extra to go with your order of two spring rolls-- it will NEVER be included unless you ask again at pick-up. When I asked last time, I was told when I checked that, "If you asked for it, I'm sure it is there." Guess what? It wasn't. Overall: Sometimes their phone does not work (happened twice) and you will not be able to call. And sometimes is cash only (happened once). Are they paying their bills? I suggest scrutinizing your receipt carefully (I have a nagging feeling I should have more diligent about this.) If they intend to stay in business, I recommend they hire a mature, non-family member who is skilled in restaurant management and customer service, and is fluent in English. read more

This place never disappoints me. I can only speak for the pho as that's all I've ever ordered from here. The helpings are generous and always taste delicious! Their are a few pho places within walking distance from my house, but I will drive here over them any day. Lots of fresh toppings and the meat and broth is high quality. I was in this restaurant on Saturday January 19, 2019, I spent $ 27.56, I used my debit card, I signed a coupon for the amount of $ 27.56, I did not authorize that any tip be taken from the card, when I review my charges with the bank the following Monday(today), They had charged $ 32.56, they are a pickpocket, be very careful when you pay with you cards, they are robbing their customers in this way. Talk to the supposed manager and he is a rude man who never wanted to admit it and did not want to look for the receipt that I signed in his business, with the excuse that they had thousands of receipts, which I doubt. Be careful, do not let yourselves be robbed. I have proof the paid receipt and my bank statement. read more

This was my first time eating Vietnamese food. I am 32 yrs retired Army and have eaten most every food in the world. However, I had no idea how good Vietnamese food was. The cuisine masters dazzling the taste buds with fresh flavors that do not overpower the food. I am usually sensitive to spicy foods, but this type of cuisine is delightfully digestible. My suggestion to the Master Chef is to continue the fresh leafy spices and vegetables you use because that is the way of future cuisine. My Filipino in-laws have a bee farm restaurant in Bohol Philippines (Wallace) that grow similar spices and vegetables right outside the restaurant. Freshness of the food, especially produce is what is making money in the food industry these days. Keep up the good work. read more

First and foremost, the Pho was very good/excellent. The spring roll was good, but wow, can ya spare a bit of peanut sauce. Very skimpy there. With the converted Denny, the atmosphere is very open so you are at mercy of the loudness of other tables. Very good, but Saigon Cafe is still my go to for Vietnamese. read more

This place is by far my favorite for Vietnamese cuisine. This was our first time (first of many to come) visiting this location. Hands down the best around!! Our daughter is half Vietnamese. She loved it! They treated her just like one of their own. Being our first time there. The waiter took the time to explain the meals and ask us what we liked and then suggested meals for us. Pretty furious with this restaurant Pho Pasteur 3 at this point! I have eaten there twice and ordered the vegetarian pho with tofu both times. Before ordering I confirmed with several people that the pho was indeed vegetarian and they didn't use beef, chicken, or fish broth. However, another vegan friend went there to eat today and upon ordering the vegetarian pho with tofu the waitress informed her immediately that they use beef broth for the pho and only have one type of broth they use for all the pho. GUESS WHAT PHO PASTEUR?!?! BEEF IS NOT VEGETARIAN & IT SURE AS HELL ISN'T VEGAN!!!!!! I will never trust this restaurant again or eat there! I will continue to spread the word in the vegetarian and vegan community not to EVER eat there! This should be a crime. read more

We went here during July 4th weekend. It was one of the few open for indoor dining. It has a pretty extensive menu for a typical pho spot. The jack fruit shake was a nice surprise. The pho was good and there are lots of options for the meat combo you prefer. The crispy pan-fried noodles were good. The grilled pork chops are better than the grilled pork. Kids portions for the pho or a rice dish were nice options. Space was super clean and spacious. read more

Opening day. Very busy with a lot of customers dining. I was admittedly curious if a restaurant this size would fill but they are pretty close. As with many launches the front of house is scrambling and disorganized. I sat nearly 15 minutes before being greeted by my waitress to order water. My order did not take long to prepare but was initially sent to the wrong table. Timing could have been better as my appetizer arrived after my entree. I ordered egg rolls (cha gio) and spicy soyp (bun bo hue). The Cha Gio's filling was nice but I thought they could have fried an additional minute to develop a nicer color. The soup was good. It was certainly meatier than many of the local competitors, which was nice. I also liked that the garnishes included shredded red cabbage and culantro (not cilantro), something else the lical competitors don't provide. On the table you will find the ubiquitous sriracha and hoisin but they also have a nice looking chili oil that I would like to try in the future. They use plastic chopsticks which were very slippery and not the easiest to use. I even overheard two other nearby tables making similar comments about the chopsticks. It is opening day and I expected some delays with the front of house but they seemed numerous. I waited 15 minutes at my table before being approached. I waited another 10 minutes for a water refill after waving down a waitress to still not get it. I literally had to stand near the pass at the kitchen for the manager to see me and get me my refill. I was never once asked how my meal was or if I needed anything. My order was delivered to a different table. My entree came before my appetizer. The waitress who brought my appetizer did not know if she brought the right appetizer when I tried to confirm what I ordered. I never saw the same person twice at my table. The food was goid and I plan on returning to compare my favorite Vietnamese dishes from here with other local favorite Vietnamese restaurants. I hope they work out their front of house operations. My rating is based on the food and not service. Service at opening may be a 2 at most. read more

Granted, this is the 4th day they've been open, but this also is the third location for the business. - the place is incredibly understaffed. If you just opened, you shouldn't have to be hiring when you open. - the staff is also not well trained. There's no sections, no dedicated servers, and when you do get service, it's abysmally slow and they didn't clear anything off the table until we're were finished and ready to pay. We had to ask for a refill on our waters too. The server actually didn't know the menu and argued with me a little bit about what I was trying to order. - they were straight up not serving Banh mi sandwiches, which is like a sixth of the menu. Also, they were out of desserts, which I heard multiple other guests ask about. - After a long wait, we finally got our food. Well, most of it. We got the appetizers, which we started to eat, and then the pho came out a minute later. Then the stirfry came out another five after that. Seriously in need of understanding courses and staggering them. - for the most part, the food was unimpressive. Generally on the bland side, and the stir fry had an ungodly amount of noodles to the actual stir fry (which I had to get egg noodles, they wouldn't sub rice noodles). - if anything at all, the pho is a saving grace here. I wanted the pho to be bad do I could just write this place off. Unfortunately, it was really good. Healthy servings, all the right flavors, and it was robust and replete with flavor. That's the only reason this is not a 1-2 star review. I'll be back for the pho, but that's literally I'll ever eat here. read more

The pho fixings of herbs, bean sprouts and jalepenos are always fresh and tasty. I also love the shrimp appetizer that comes on the sugar cane. Soooooo good. Then for my meal I got the "small" combination pho. Meatballs, brisket, tendons, tripe.... You get meat in every bite. I tried eating around the meat but could not. The service is awesome. I ordered, went to the bathroom,for a minute, and the appetizer was waiting at the table.started the appetizer and the soap came out. Incredible. A definite must. First off, pho isn't meant to be a take-out item unless you want to go home to your lonely existence with rapidly cooling soup in melted plastic containers. This place is always DELICIOUS and HOT just like it's supposed to be. The broth is savory and full of flavor, perhaps better than any I've had in lancaster.
