C11 Vermicelli Noodles With Grilled Chicken & Egg Rolls - Bun Cha Gio & Ga Nuong

I ordered C11 takeout, the vermicelli salad with grilled chicken and egg rolls, it was delicious and exactly what I wanted. I have gotten it several times since and the Pho is very good as well

My husband came here for a work lunch and loved it so much, he brought the whole family back for dinner. So delicious! We shared the spring rolls, pho with sliced steak & brisket, a banh mi sandwich, and vermicelli with grilled chicken. Generous portions, tender meats, and jam-packed with flavor. So, so, so good. Plenty of parking, clean, and great service. This is definitely our new spot every time we come through Lancaster!

Tripe soup- broth, scallion, onion, cilantro, rice noodles

Located in a plaza, Pho Lotus looks small from the outside but there are a good number of tables. You can sit down or take out. Delivery and online ordering are available too. My husband and I opted for sit down in the restaurant. The menu is thorough- appetizers, soups, noodle dishes, rice dishes, bahn mi sandwiches, drinks such as Thai tea or Vietnamese coffee. Honestly I didn't notice much of the other selections though because I saw tripe soup and was instantly sold. My soup, brought out in a big bowl, was just the thing I wanted - flavorful, brothy, homey. Served alongside the soup was a big pile of beans sprouts, herbs, limes, and jalapenos, and then the table condiments of soy sauce, hoisin, ketchup, and a chili sauce. I absolutely loved being able to "customize" my soup with all of the table options. For an app my husband and I ordered fried tofu (we try it everywhere) and it was good, although the pickled veg with it was even better. Service was pleasant - they brought the food to us but payment was at the counter. The music level was just right. Car parking it out front in the plaza lot. This restaurant was conveniently located just down the road from The Lancaster Inn, and after a loooong day at the PA Renaissance Faire it was perfect. If I'm in the area again I would definitely go back.

This is the "meatball" pho, had look and texture of kielbasa

Trying Pho was something I had long wanted to do, but could never find the time to do. Recently, while suffering from a nasty stomach bug my daughter suggested the perfect remedy: pho. She said the broth, with it's ginger undertones would fix me right up. Off to Pho Lotus we go. It's located in a small, newer, shopping center right across from the Manheim Auto Auction and is very easy to find. The inside is clean but alittle generic, some artwork but remiscent of a nail salon. Since neither one of us was here before and saw a counter/cooler but no menu we weren't sure how to order. However we were promptly greeted with menus. They had an assortment of rice bowls, pho with different proteins, and spring rolls. The "waiter" brought over our water (forgot my lemon which I requested) and took our orders. A short while later he brought out our meals, generously sized bowls of a hot broth, and a plate of toppings to share. Hoisin, soy, srachara, and chili paste condiments were already on the table. The smell was quite tantalizing - the lemongrass was very potent in smell, but not taste, and the aroma of all the ingrediants was comforting. The toppings plate contained bean sprouts, cilantro, and another herb which I suspect was Thai basil. They were all very fresh. We were also given chop sticks and a special ladle like spoon for the broth. My daughter choose bisket for her protein, and myself the meatballs. I did ask before I ordered what kind of meatballs and he said beef. What I got was not meatballs at all but a kielbasa looking in sight and texture protein of unknown origin. I didn't care for it at all and was disappointed, as I was looking forward to having meatballs. I have no idea what kind of processed meat it was but it didn't taste like beef, pork, or chicken and one was enough as I left the other slices behind. The broth contained a thick noodle. I added the toppings, spritz of lime, and a light dose of the srachara since I was still recovering and didn't want to overdue the heat. While the broth had a nice multi layered flavor to it, I found the noodles bland as they did not absorb any of the broth's flavor. The herbs and spouts added a much needed crunch and freshness. The broth did provide comfort, and was warming but without having the protein, I didn't find the dish especially delicious or satisfying. The staff however was really nice and appeared to be a young couple, with their son who played at a table nearby. They even made a small order of fried rice for my young grandson. It was not on the menu, and we had no idea how much it was. It ended up being $7, which I thought was high for the portion size, but still a very nice gesture. What I didn't like, was it didn't have the feel of a proper restaurant, more like a take out joint, yet had table service somewhat, as we still had to go to the counter and pay. Either do it completely or not at all is my feeling. Why should a tip be expected for half service? I also thought at $12.95, it was pricey for what the dish was, and of course that very questionable "meatball", which I swear was sliced kielbasa of some sort. Just thinking about it and it's texture makes my stomach churn.

House Special Pho

First time at Pho Lotus, and I was not disappointed! I've been looking for a new Lancaster spot for some good pho, and this is definitely going to be my new go to spot! It was delicious! We got spring rolls to start with peanut sauce and they were yummy. I then got the E1 Vietnamese hoagie which was delicious. Then to top it off, of course I had a big bowl of the house special pho. I had to make sure that they got me the big bowl out of the kitchen to make sure that I had a full stomach. The pho was awesome, and of course what makes a good pho is the broth. And the broth was very flavorful! Overall, had a good experience here and I'll definitely be coming back!

Noodle Shack is located in a shopping center so there is ample parking available. During my first visit, I had the pleasure to try takoyaki for the first time. These soft, pillowy octopus fritters garnished with sauce and bonito flakes that danced as they reacted to the heat we're as exciting to try as they were delicious. Upon entry today I was quickly seated and was one of two occupied tables in the dining room. The waiter came over and took my order of Zhanjiangmian. My previewed the menu online beforehand so I already knew what I was going to order. The interior of the restaurant is spacious, clean and cozy. Not long after I place my order I got my food. Zhanjiang is a fermented soybean paste and to make the dish pork and mushrooms are added to make the sauce. To my delight, I was welcomed with a warm and savory noodle dish packed with umami that just seemed perfect for this cold weather. The dish itself does not come spicy so I requested a side of chili oil which I used had some heat and this just amplified how tasty this dish was. I was pleased with my order and would definitely eat this dish again. My only complaint about today's experience, which is a pet peeve of mine, is when the server places the check on the table before I am finished eating. Fortunately, most establishments don't follow this protocol. And although it is my only complaint I do not feel this would prevent me from going back try more of their menu.

Outside its easy to mistake this place as a flower or gardening shop but that's just a credit to the owner's wife's passion for gardening and fresh ingredients. Inside is very simple and no frills but thats not a bad thing! We were greeted by the owners wife and seated by their son. I ordered the Pho rib eye and spring rolls and husband got the spring rolls as well and a rice dish. The flavors were so vibrant and fresh! Pho came with the usual cilantro, bean sprouts, etc to customize to your liking. There was nothing left by the time I was done, even drank all the broth. The wife checked on us a few times and graciously bid us fairwell, saying to please come again soon. We saw the owner and his son in the parking lot and chatted with them and another patron who finished before us. Very down to earth family with so many stories to tell. I could talk to them all day.
