Bún đu mm tôm

When I travel often seek out for most authentic Vietnamese food and this place leave everlasting taste in my mouth and mind. It was the highlight of my trip to Montreal. It was an hour drive from Old town but we found it and it so worth every minute of it. Too bad I found it on our last day there and have to make our way to Lake Placid. Oh how I wish I have more time. Stumbled upon this by Yelp and the bun cha ca ( fish cake noodles soup) and bun dai mam tom was to die for. It's an acquired taste since the sauce is made with shrimp paste but it was so well balanced and flavorful that it was a party in the mouth. I still reminiscing the hot crunchy yet sold and juicy tofu and the fried fish cake with dill balance with the shrimp sauce and the herbs it was heaven. The fish soup was delicious, delicate and clean it's actually inspired me to cook it when I return to the state since no one else made it that good here. Thanks god I can cook too. The Pho was good but the highlight like I said was those two dishes and it will a good enough reason for me to come back to Montreal just so I could go eat it once more.

This was a pretty large and clean restaurant located in a large plaza with plenty of parking. They had lots of tables and also a pretty robust takeout service. It was very family friendly and they accommodated our large group with attentive service. They had lots of good options on the menu and the pho dac biet was pretty decent.

Bun Bo Hue - 10/10 Super flavorful broth and a perfect super mild spicy! I personally don't like all the pork feet and bones in my noodle soup but authentically I think it should come with it and other people prefer it. But I liked that it only came with the regular viet ham and beef bc I don't like the other things. #44 Pork Chop Rice Plate - 10/10 It may look small on camera but this portion was HUGE. Lots of rice! But the pork chop was decent regular size. Pork chop was perfectly marinated and I love the glaze that comes with it. Cooked perfectly as well not too dry and not tough. Also the fried egg was perfect! A little soft fried sunny side egg yolk! Overall I loved all elements of this place and I had so much rice left over but I was FULL for the whole day. Banh Xeo - 10/10 HUGE portion as well! It's super stuffed with lots of filling and the crepe was cooked soft and crispy! I like this style of appetizer because it's super hands on and you get to wrap it like a little roll. Super fun and yummy appetizer! ALSO pleaseee try the sugar cane drink! It's so refreshing and it's real authentic sugar cane and it literally soothes your soul. The ambience was super welcoming and the restaurant was super big and spacious. Overall, I liked every single dish and everything was super flavorful and made me feel good eating it! Best bun Bo hue I had!

I love this because I was worried they would shoo me away and tell me they were not taking anymore customers since it was almost closing time but this was not the case. Thank you guys for the awesome service! Also it was really clean in here and nice and warm and quiet. A small escape from the cold night that was going on in Montreal. I ordered my two orders of dumplings, one pork and coriander and the other beef and onions. They were very good! I was more than satisfied with what I was given and especially enjoyed the portion size. It was very generous. My experience here was a great one. Just one of those visits where everything goes really well and I have nothing to complain about and nothing went wrong.

The peanut butter dumplings were a little interesting to me and could've been a little bit more savory, but we're still very tasty and the shrimp was the biggest surprise because I'm not a huge fan of mayonnaise, but that's what came with the shrimp and the combination was surprisingly tasty. I did pick up and did not eat in, but the staff seemed friendly when I stopped by.

Whatever it was Pho Saigon Viet-Nam served me up the best Satay Beef Pho I ever tasted. I started my lunch meal with spring rolls ($5,00). They were good but not the best spring rolls I ever had. The roll I thought was a bit chewy. Next came the Satay Beef ($12) which totally flavored the Pho. It was the best Pho I ever had but mind you I am no expert. They have a strange business model in that a small bowl is $11 and a large bowl is $12. It came out piping hot. I had to let it sit, as well as, blow on the broth to cool it down. The staff was tri-lingual. Imagine that! The food came out quick. It seems a lot of locals dine here. The restaurant is located in Chinatown. The street entrance is below ground level. The restaurant is somewhat dated and upkeep could be improved. The food is a 5 STAR in my opinion.

The restaurant was relatively empty. Tabletops had a bit of a stench to it and the menus handed to us were sticky. Not one to judge a book by its cover and these conditions are fairly common in Chinatown. The menu was pretty extensive with all the common dishes. I really wanted some banh cuon or banh uot, but on a frigid night, I felt like some pho would hit the spot instead. The bun bo hue and banh canh were very enticing to me; those would've been great options on a cold night as well. Prices were reasonable ranging from 12-16$ based on size. We ordered a small and medium; instantly regretted not getting a bigger size though because I def could have eaten more. Broth was darker than normal. Nothing stood out about the broth, but it was pretty spice-forward and still very much hit the spot. They surprisingly loaded up on the meat; I've never had this much meat in my bowl of pho at any other restaurants. The noodles were also cooked perfectly! Realistically I probably wouldn't come back here as often if my other usual spots were open, but I'm especially grateful they were welcoming during holiday hours. I noticed that the banh xeo and some other dishes were cheaper than other places though, so maybe I'll return for that. CASH ONLY.
