You had to have been Pho kidding me. This place was nothing at all pho mazing or anything close to amazing. Before I mention the bad experience I had with the food at this establishment, I do want to call out a few important things that were good for the establishment. The chef and waitress are quick with food, the waitress is very prompt and quick with taking orders, and the restaurant is clean. Now here's the problems, while the establishment may keep their tables clean, they are NOT cleaning their shrimps!!! Nothing is worse than biting into a shrimp roll and there's a whole line of the vein/feces falling out of your appetizer. They charge $2 extra for shrimp in Pad Thai and the shrimp in the pad Thai isn't clean. I find that absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention the water that they give you tastes pretty close to tap water which is also not good at all. Let's start with the food. Pho Tai, really is amazing. I was not disappointed. I've eaten at most of the local area Pho places, and this place hit the spot. This place serves Pho with the broth seasoned nicely, the flavor lingers all the way down to the last spoonful. I've had places where the broth was off, bland, but not this place. Family owned, and the flavors on this bowl of noodle soup felt like the most heartfelt family meal. Next, we tried their beef fried rice, the shaken beef with rice dish, and noodle with beef. Each dish is good, and as didn't disappoint. The shaken beef dish came with a side salad and tender pieces of cubed beef, cooked medium well. I was pretty happy that the kids didn't finish their meals, we were able to take the dishes home, and I was able to gobble it up the next day. Other side info. It's just a perfect place to go for rainy days. My husband ordered BYOB = build your own bowl with rare steak, and my son and I shared the filet mignon pho with extra back rib + egg noodles instead *for $1 extra. We really enjoyed our pho, I can taste the clove just enough of it. The meat was also tender. We ordered some egg rolls for appetizers, and it was very good. The skin was super crunchy, and the filling was tasteful. They may use spring roll wrap for it that made it a little different look than typical Vietnamese eggroll. There was only one waitress who served about 12 tables. She was able to serve us in a timely manner and also checked on us a couple of times. She's definitely a hard-working person. Craving satisfied Fiancé and I were craving some tasty broth so we decided to give Pho Mazing a try and we were very please with this hidden gem. The crazy thing was in the morning I had seen a post on the Placentia buzz about a giant sign being knocked over due to high winds and little did I know it was the sign for this specific plaza. We arrived about 8;30, last seating 9pm, and were greeted by the nicest person ever! The food was amazing, we had the veggie rolls and two pho's and the service was just as spectacular. It was a little slow when we got there, but I'd like to think that positive energies attract positivity and surely a little rush came in after we sat down. It's a small, family-owned establishment so please be patient if there's a little bit of wait to be seated. Fortunately for us, we got a table right away. The girl who greeted us was the hostess with the mostest! She literally does everything except cook the food. She will seat you, take your drink and food orders, serve you and buss your table. Hell, she'll even provide you with some funny conversation. We ordered egg rolls, spring rolls and their shaken beef dish. They had a nice little spin on those items. Not traditional from my experience but just as good! However I'm from the Bay Area where we have so many great Vietnamese restaurants. And this by far was the bottom of my list. Ordered takeout from Pho Mazing and it was definitely amazing! We ordered the BBQ Pork Banh Mi, BBQ Chicken Vermicelli, and Pork Fried Rice which totaled about $28 post tax. My favorite dish was the BBQ Chicken Vermicelli - flavorful chicken, crisp carrots and daikon, crushed peanuts and crunchy onions all atop a bed of shredded lettuce and vermicelli. The crunchy onions really took it to the next level! This was definitely one of the better vermicelli dishes I've had in North Orange County. The BBQ Pork Banh Mi was also really good, although I will say the bread was a bit on the hard side. After calling in, our food was ready in about 20 minutes. While we only did takeout, they do offer dine-in seating. Seating at the restaurant is limited though (only a few small tables). I definitely will be back to try more items on their menu! read more

I love this place. I was craving pho after my hangover today and looked up pho places near me. This place looked like the spot; authentic Pho, a nice and small ambience, and good drinks! I ordered the beef pho aka the pho-amazing bowl. They have great portions and the first sip was so good! The broth isn't that salty, there's enough toppings for the pho and you have napkins, chopsticks, and condiments on the table. The meat was great. I love the meatballs and meat was fresh. I don't know why but I am in love with the interior and the ambience. It's a small restaurant but the seating is great, the place is welcoming and friendly. Cute place to eat. Holy smokes! I am so happy that we visited this restaurant! It's a cozy little spot and the hostess/waitress is so warm & welcoming that it feels like we were visiting a family friend and she chatted with us at length once the restaurant was empty before their mid-day break. I love pho without noodles, but also love tons of veggies so I ordered the vegetarian pho without noodles and added meat to it. Sounds complicated, but it arrived to the table as ordered. Their broth is soooo good!! I can't figure out just what that extra special something is that's in the broth, but it's incredible. We also ordered the crispy pork egg rolls and the shrimp & pork spring rolls. The egg rolls were wrapped in a different paper than I expected and they were amazing! It was a chewy and dense wrapper and was also super crispy. The dipping sauce was delicious, too. The spring rolls were presented in a cute fashion with a frilly tail of lettuce and were so tasty. This is a family owned and operated restaurant. Mom is cooking food, daughter is in charge of the service. The ambiance of the restaurant is unassuming, causal, friendly, yet distinctly Vietnamese. We were starving for authentic, delicious pho. This place came up on my Yelp as I was in the nearby area, and it has such excellent reviews we had to try it!! Surely I was not going to be disappointed after reading such high reviews, but I was disappointed. The kids enjoyed their chicken pho as they are not too picky! If I seem too harsh in my judgment, it's only because I've been eating Pho for over 25 years. And my Vietnamese friends taught me the tricks and ends & the ways to eat this delicious soup! Let me start by saying that they're vegetarian egg-rolls, Thai iced tea and spring rolls were all pretty good, but the main entrées weren't as five-star as they should be. My husband's beef Báhn mì sandwich was dry and not the best quality meat! I took a bite & I can tell they use lemon grass, which is one of my favorite Vietnamese flavors to put on the meat, but it was definitely lacking the mayo; which we brought to their attention, and they later confirmed that they ran out of their special sauce mayo( we ended up waiting for them to make fresh mayo sauce to add to the second half of the sandwich) If you notice in the picture of the sandwich not only was it dry, but you can tell that the beef wasn't the best and it was covered with extra cilantro, which I didn't mind eating and taking off hubby's sandwich. Despite hubby not being very picky; he did not enjoy his sandwich. Next please refer to my pho beef in my bowl picture with that yellow dry beef brisket!! I swear I tried to keep eating and I kept reaching for more beef in my soup but almost every single bite was chewy, no matter which piece I reach for! The broth itself wasn't that wow either. (I always take a sip before I add my sauces, at least that's what I was taught) I tried the kids chicken pho & it wasn't anything crazy bad or crazy amazing. So maybe today was not a good day for their beef!! But at this point we feel like we over paid for bad quality beef!! Unfortunately I don't think will be back. The most interesting part is that I always let the waiter or who ever is serving us know that I'm a YELPER; you would think they would inform the chef telling him "at least make sure that the main dishes are made better than basic!" ‍ I am not there to surprise or sneak up on these family owned business but come on guys!!! The food was great! We got in town after around 9:30 pm and this was the only pho place open past 9pm. We ordered 3 phomazing pho bowls, lemongrass chicken, and chicken spring rolls. The pho bowls were great, lots of meats and great broth. They didn't have chili oil, fish sauce, or soy sauce on the table so you have to ask for it. Grilled chicken spring rolls were okay. They were nicely rolled and tight but I didn't like the seasoning of the grilled chicken. My opinion, I thought it was too salty. Came after the lunch hour so there were no patrons. Lucky for me! Ordered a small brisket pho and chicken chow fun. The pho was pretty good but what I really enjoyed was the chow fun. The vegetables were not limp or soggy but crunchy. I didn't finish it and even when I took it home to reheat the vegetables were still crunchy. The noodles were a bit mushy but chewy enough. The amount of seasoning was good but the dish was a bit oily as expected for a stir fried dish. Fortunately the pho broth helped it go down. Aahhh... I got the pho mazing togo and it was so good. The broth is so flavorful and looks clear. My only iffy thought is how much msg they put into it, but the taste is great, all of the spices were woven into the broth well. The meat was soft and fell off the bone when you tore at it, also very flavorful. Only thing about food was the bean spouts they gave us looked aged tho, they were browned/yellowish, but the crunchy texture was still a bit there.
