The place is small and gets pretty packed. The prices are reasonable and the serivce is good, but for me it's all about the food. When asked about a local place to find pho, I was directed here. I was very excited to try this place out, sadly I decided to do so on a very warm day and I'm going to blame my mediocre review on it not being a great pho day. The place is a small place and was not busy when I went. I ordered the shrimp pho...service was great and the staff attentive but when my bowl of shrimp pho arrived...it was warm. Because it wasn't piping hot, my noodles were kind of stuck together...it took a long time to soften them up. The flavor of the broth was good, just not hot enough. Now, because I've read so many good reviews and have heard from friends that "it's the best"... I'm going to give it another try. This time I'm not going to go on a hot CA day when I think they didn't expect heavy pho orders. Fingers crossed my next experience will be a "hot" one. read more

This is definitely my favorite pho place. I've been coming here with friends, colleagues and family for a couple years now and I've never had a bad experience. It's not a huge place so every now and then you'll see a big line outside during lunch time, but it's worth the wait. The food is amazing! The service is top notch. I luv this place. Just went yesterday for lunch, now I want to go back everyday. One of the reason I love it is because it's close to my work, well, it's the only pho place for miles. Not only that, the pho is great and I had a very pleasant experience. It's pretty small, but clean and has a health grade A. Woohoo. Even though it was a little warm inside, the fan was right on us, so it was perfect. Mmm, the pho broth is light and flavorful, and little sweet and tangy. The jasmine iced tea was really good (they filled it to the brim) and after my husband ordered a thai iced tea, they automatically brought out some water. Kudos Pho Mai for knowing the pho makes him extra thristy. We also ordered bbq beef rolls. The meat was very tasty, but a little on the skimpy side (more rice roll than stuffing), but was accompanied with a choice of peanut or fish sauce. Yum. It's was the perfect lunch for me, beacuse after I wasn't still starving or over-stuft to go back to work. In fact I have a date set for this Friday to go back. Pho Mai, I'll see you soon! read more

Great pho and noddles! Customer service kind of sucks because the waiters speak brokwn english so it is very important to order by the numbers in the menu. Dont tell them you want beef or elese they will pick for you. We made that mistake once but they gave us a great dish so we didnt make a big deal out of it. read more

Pho for Whittier is pretty good. Not like the places in Alhambra, but the owner is always super nice and gives the kids a treat at the end. Pho is decent enough and prices are good. Not much seating during rush hours but wait is usually not too long. read more

No complaints only praises. Small place, but excellent service. Food came out quick and they were very prompt with refills. I went to this place from your recommendations and man was I wrong to listen to non asians judge a pho place. Growing up in Monterey Park / Rosemead, I know what real pho tastes like. I came to this place with somewhat of an open mind, sore throat looking for warm soup to make me feel better. The soup was pretty tasteless, very small amounts of meat, too much onion chopped up into the soup. To top it off, the person behind the counter (I could hardly understand) said something about $6 something for the pho and $.25 cent charge for using my card. My bill came out to $7.92. I would like some type of breakdown of how I'm being charged, not just a receipt for $7.92. I probably would have graded this place a 2-2.5 except all the higher ratings needed to truly get balanced out. Would not come back, I would rather experiment with the next crappy close by pho place. read more

Love how if you order it to go, they give you a bowl with the noodles and RAW meat (this is how you know ts good pho) that's easy to eat out of, instead of the Styrofoam containers that don't fit all your ingredients. Not authentic Vietnamese food. Bland, no taste, took forever to get pho out to us. Not very clean either.

They actually open at 9:30 am even though Yelp states 9:00 am. I came here on a Thursday morning at 9:30 and ordered a small tai, gun and sac pho. It took 10 minutes for the one bowl of pho to arrive (which is very very rare for a Vietnamese restaurant). It's very warm in the restaurant, can't imagine how it would feel with a full house. They have a fan going, but it is still hot. They also have a large flat screen tv but it was off. The restaurant is clean, all utensils and condiments fully stocked and the bathroom is in the back. The pho broth was meh. To me, it didn't taste like they use real bones to make the broth, but maybe a seasoning mixture. You KNOW when you taste broth that has been brewing for hours. I added extra hoisin sauce, Siracha and extra limes to flavor it better. The vegetables are fresh: bean sprouts, jalapeno slices and basil. The two employees are very friendly and were busy getting the restaurant ready. I'm sorry I can't give a better feedback, but for a person who grew up with homemade Pho, I won't recommend or return. read more
