Came by here for dinner during an event we had at the great park. The pho was very satisfying with flavorful broth. However, The vermicelli was a bit off balance with a bit too much bean sprouts and pork was a bit dry. Come here for the pho and you won't be disappointed.

Super fast service but mediocre food. My combination pho was a bit bland and probably loaded with msg since I felt a bit nauseous right after eating it. The grilled pork was a bit on the dry side. The only decent dish was the egg rolls since it came out piping hot.

Got a list of suggested local restaurants via email by Yelp so decided to try Pho Lab out. Was so surprised how good it was. I got the combo pho and everything was delicious. The brisket was very lean and so tender. Meatballs were very good. Rare steak and tripe were also tender. Broth was good. So I took my husband, my sister and her husband back a week later. The three (3) of us ordered the same, combo pho, and my husband got the shaken beef with garlic noodles. Everything was good but the brisket in the pho was more fatty this second time around. Service was also better the first time. Second visit, service was slow. We sat and waited for a long while and no one came to take our orders. The owner came around and checked on us later when we were done eating. She's always so nice. Absolutely a great local pho restaurant to visit when we don't want to drive to the Little Saigon.

Yummy! So happy there is another good pho place in South OC! I don't have to drive all the way to garden grove. Price is reasonable, the bowl is big, however it could use more meat! The broth comes out piping hot, tastes great, authentic, and delicious. It did take a while for them to get our order (because the World Cup was one) and then the food did take a while to come out. But I would overall come back!

Came back to try the shrimp spring rolls - freshly made, light and delicious with the peanut sauce. Also got my usual pho combination - a solid choice with lots of meat and savory broth. Staff were welcoming and attentive. Ambiance is airy and casual.

Came across this spot one night while trying to figure out dinner and decided to check out Pho Lab for some pho. My husband and I both ordered the pho combination and added the rib bone. The broth itself was really good--flavorful and comforting--but the rib bone didn't quite hit for me. It wasn't as tender as I expected, and I think it could've been cooked a bit longer to get that fall-off-the-bone texture. We also ordered their fried chicken wings, which are a must every time we come here. They're perfectly fried and seasoned, and honestly delicious even on their own. The garlic butter dipping sauce is a great bonus, but not even necessary. Even our 3-year-old loves the wings. The restaurant itself is pretty spacious, and we've never had to wait for a table. They do seem to get a lot of to-go orders though. Overall, solid food and a place we'd come back to.

The good at Pho Lab is absolutely delicious. The meat is tender and the broth rich. The pho with beef bone is my favorite. The meat falls off the bone. The service is just ok. My biggest complaint is the cleanliness. The floors and booths are always dirty which can be off putting. FYI if you pay cash you get a discount.

One of my favorite Pho spots in OC. Broth is always so delicious and hot. Food comes out quickly and the meat is so tender. I love the crispy spring rolls here so much definitely a must try when you stop by. Staff is so kind and friendly and service is top tier. More like 3.5 stars. I came for lunch excited to try a new spot for Pho since I was in the area. Sadly it was just ok. The broth in the pho was too light in flavor which is more telling of a northern style pho. I prefer a southern style pho so please take that into consideration with my review. I also got the golden bao which was interesting. I never had a fried version of the bao. I'm glad I tried it because the texture of the crispy outside with a soft dough on the inside was nice. That being said, I wish it was more juicy. I was looking for the wonderful meat juices that normally come with a steamed bao. Vietnamese coffee was also just ok. I was looking for that bold coffee depth of flavor but it also seemed a little on the light side.

This neighborhood pho restaurant have a good selection of appetizers, pho, vermicelli noodles, and rice dishes. I ordered the garlic noodles with prawns and enjoyed it. Noodles are very tasty & prawns are cooked right & very flavorful. Staff are really friendly & attentive. Will definitely come back to try other dishes.

Let me tell you it was definitely worth the stop, especially because we come from LA County. I had the Oxtail Pho and let me just say it was delicious. The broth was flavorful and the oxtail would just melt in your mouth. The service incredible and the restaurant itself was clean and beautifully decorated. Food was good, (at least one order) but the service totally sucked. I ordered Pho, while my wife ordered vermicelli, and we also ordered egg rolls as an appetizer. I got the Pho in 2 min. Now I realize that in some cultures it's ok to get food as it comes out, but 20 min later still no egg rolls or vermicelli for my wife. Went up and they haven't even started on the egg rolls or vermicelli. They were not busy at all. Their first offer was, "do you want to just cancel the order?" Place has gone down hill for sure. I told them to cancel the order and after some time the manager did come out to apologize and offered to comp her meal. I still had to pay for mine though. Whatever. read more

Tried the new Pho Lab in Lake Forest. I got the pho three-ways with meatball, brisket, and ribeye. All the meats were flavorful and tender. Broth was clean but still had depth, not oily, and didn't taste like someone just dumped salt in it. Good noodle-to-meat ratio too! Also grabbed the eggrolls which were crispy and hot. They actually tasted fresh, not frozen. The place is clean, modern, and service was fast even though they were clearly busy. You can tell they care about what they're doing. Overall, solid spot. I would say the food is very delicious. The tables are sticky and the floor were not cleaned after customers left. Service was really good but they need to clean tf up. Place is only good to go I wouldn't recommend eating inside. The pho bowls are chipped. The spoons and forks need to be deep cleaned for gods sake. Don't TIP if the bowls and utensils are dirty PERIOD. If you don't want to work then don't go to work with that lazy mentality. read more

My son brought me here for Mother's Day lunch. I had the shrimp and ribeye pho and my son had Garlic noodles with filet. Both were very tasty -especially the filet. My ribeye was sliced thin but stuck together with 4 other large slices (4"x4"). It tasted great but hard to un-stick and eat being so large. I recommend they cut them in strips vs large squares. This afternoon, I went to try out a new restaurant and I found out this Pho Lab on yelp and it showed great reviews. However, after being seated, the server and other employees forgot about me being there, and not taking an order or even beverages such as water or any other drinks. I felt like being neglected and anyone who working at this restaurant didn't seem to care about me as much as other customers. I felt disappointed and disrespected. What I loved most was that the spicy pho wasn't simply regular pho with extra chili oil. The spice had so much additional flavor, while the broth still maintained that rich beef flavor. It was the perfect balance of heat and flavor. I have an extremely high spice tolerance, so I was genuinely shocked that this was actually spicy for me! There are three spice levels for this pho: mild, spicy and extra spicy. I ordered the spicy level, and it was definitely hot! I also went on a Sunday, so I was able to take advantage of their daily special. You can choose from the specials they offer throughout the week, and I decided to get the free size upgrade, which gave me plenty of broth. I'm so glad Pho Lab has opened in South OC! I had tried their Huntington Beach location before and was really impressed with the quality of their pho, so I had to check out the new Lake Forest spot. A better choice was the Shanghai Pan-Fried Pork Buns ($13.90) which were moist and flavorful. The Shanghai Stir-Fried Rice Cakes ($13.90) was a good and tasty dish. We got the Salt & Pepper Fish Filet ($10.99) because it was on special and it ended up being one of the better dishes. A little salty but it was served hot and crispy. I'm all for supporting smaller local restaurants, but the food was hit or miss. We probably should've ordered noodles since it's in their name. Their prices are reasonable, so I might come back to try other things if in the area.

First of all, when trying to get the reservation, we were told we needed to put a 200$ deposit in person, and also were told that they may not have the day available if the boss had his own party there. A week later, my parents happened to be in the area and were told that a deposit was not needed. A little strange in my opinion! We had 14+ people in their biggest private room for my dad's birthday, and the AC just couldn't keep up. It was hot and humid the whole time, and the only backup was a single Dyson fan someone brought in. For a big traditional Chinese family dinner like ours, there's an expectation of how things should flow: cold dishes first, then the larger courses spaced out properly, consistent tea service throughout. None of that happened. The big dishes, lobster, whole fish, everything, came out all at once and way too fast, and even after we said something, it didn't change. We were kind of brushed off. Even simple things like getting high chairs or extra napkins for the kids were a struggle. The only reason the night wasn't a bust is that the food was still genuinely good, so my family let it slide since nobody wanted to make a thing of it on my dad's birthday. But they really need to fix how they handle large format dining, because right now it doesn't hold up. I'll keep coming back with my immediate family since we know the food is solid and honestly we're used to this kind of service at Chinese restaurants, it's just how it goes sometimes. But I'd imagine anyone less familiar with that dynamic would walk away with a much worse impression. If they can get their service up to par they will be great. Hoping for changes.
