Still enjoying my (nearly) weekly visit to Kim's. Still enjoy discussing the universe and cosmology with Dan. Still love the A4 and A10 appetizers. Still enjoy meeting and chatting with people who just discovered this gem. First class, caring service. A great vibe of take-outs and eat-ins coming and going. A highlight of my week. Pork chops (so tasty!), grilled shrimp and rice (C13) was my feast tonight (always ask for cilantro). Along with Kim's Special Shrimp Fried Egg Rolls (A4). Worth it! Always a treat. read more

One of my favorite places for Pho. The broth isn't too salty and is very flavorful. Service is quick and the restaurant feels like eating with family. The restaurant is very casual. read more

This place is a hidden gem the service is amazing very friendly and food comes out at amazing speed. I ordered the pho chicken beef broth soup with all the veggies on the menu and a secret spicy sauce they give you on the side fair warning it's extremely spicy so add sparingly lol really enjoyed the environment and the cleanliness of the place it looks like a shady choice from the outside but believe me when I tell you it's one of those "don't judge a restaurant by the outside appearance"type of place you will find all kind of different ethnicities eating here and was very surprised to see Caucasians actually enjoying a meal here if you've been in the Harrisburg area you'll know what I'm talking about!. This place is what America is all about acceptance and tolerance to all walks of life! read more

I rarely give out 5 star reviews. This place though, 10/10. Came here for lunch and service was quick, food was fresh, and it was one of the best pho broths I've ever had. Can't forget about the chicken fried rice. The fried garlic crunch on top and whatever magic seasoning is in this was absolutely delicious. Definitely a must try! read more

Service was excellent! They were very welcoming and let us stay to finish eating, even after the restaurant had closed. Food was presented and tasted incredibly, and we were very appreciative of the vegan, gluten free, and vegetarian options. read more

When passing through a town not known for diverse eating options, I believe it's important to employ the sliding scale when it comes to ratings. This would easily be at least a 7.5/10 Vietnamese restaurant in any major US metropolitan city. All the classic fare is presented authentically and flavors are on point with a wider selection of options than expected. They have weathered the pandemic having been in business for 13 years run by a second generation owner who clearly knows what he's doing. The fact that there was a group of college aged Asian kids juxtaposed next to a a large group of middle-aged Caucasians celebrating a birthday was not only surreal but also inspiring. Anthony Bourdain once said "Barbeque may not be the road to world peace, but it's a start." I am reminded of this quote since this was a scenario I never imagined during my formative years so I would like to think the current normalization of various cuisines amongst the masses is a harbinger towards finding common ground and mutual understanding. read more

Got takeout from here and was impressed by the food. First off, they packed the pho correctly. The broth was packed separately from the noodles and toppings. Second, the portions were huge. Thirdly, the taste was just right. Other than the pho, I also got some spring rolls, summer rolls, a vermicelli combo, and a sautéed beef entree. They were all pretty good. If you are in the area and looking for good Vietnamese food, I would recommend this place. read more

It is with the heaviest heart that I even have to leave this review right now, but I have to be honest. Pho Kim's had always been one of my absolute favorite places to get pho especially on a cold day like it was the most recent time I had visited. I haven't been visiting as often as before for I have left the area, but I have popped in a few times within the last year and each time unfortunately the pho has just been off. I don't know if ingredients have changed or the recipe but its now genuinely lacking flavor! The broth has been cloudy, and kinda seems watered down. The service is always amazing because the owner is truly the freaking best! Ambiance is always quiet and relaxing. I really hope things change here because I would love to continue to support this establishment. read more

Just an amazing Vietnamese restaurant in Harrisburg. Pho, bun, egg rolls, summer rolls, boba were delicious and super high quality. Everyone working there were all just super friendly and very accommodating. The owner couldn't have been more kind. Great food, great service, super friendly. I was craving pork chops for dinner one night. But I specifically wanted Vietnamese style pork chops so I decided to give Pho Kim's a try. I can't speak to the ambience of the restaurant because I ordered my food via DoorDash. But I will say everything I wanted was in the bag and my food came nicely packed with utensils included. I ordered C4. Com Tam Suon Trung which is Grilled pork chop, fried egg with steamed rice topped with green onions and served with special fish sauce. It also came with pickled carrots, daikon radish and tomatoes on a leaf of Romaine. I was beyond happy with my choice. The food was amazing and I highly recommend. If you don't eat pork I feel bad for you cause this is delectable to say the least. I will for sure be ordering from here more often. read more

Amazing takeout! I used DoorDash. The food shrimp fried rice, pork dumplings, spring rolls were great.

My sister and I went here to share order #1, combination beef noodle pho soup. We also ordered a Vietnamese drip coffee to share as well. The noodle soup is the best pho soup in the area, and the drip coffee is a popular order among my close friends. The waitress was really frendly, and she even gave us extra onions and clantro. Overall great experience! read more

Was craving some pho and this didn't disappoint. Very savory broth, lots of fresh toppings, good portion sizes.

Update since my last review I've been there about 2 more times since and this place deserves the 5 stars. The owner is great and last time I went we were a party of 14 and we showed up 45 mins before close and they were amazing to us considering they were probably trying to go home. The food as always was delicious. I got the shaken beef this time and it was equally as tasty. I bought a sweater this time and even tho I live 3 hours away I'll wear it well. Cheers! read more

Love their pho, and it was packed with meat. It is higher in price but for something to really enjoy once in a while is a good thing to have. Their summer roll (rice paper wrap) was tightly wrapped with a really good peanut sauce. Overall enjoyed this very very much! I was greeted warmly. The place was spacious and clean. On the eastern outskirts of Harrisburg, PA, sits a very good Vietnamese restaurant, Pho Kim's. Although they offer a touch of Thai and other southeast Asian cuisine, it is owned and operated by a Vietnamese family. I dropped in for dinner on my way to a law conference at the Hilton Harrisburg the other night. I was impressed with the depth of the menu offerings, which seemed as comprehensive as any to be found in any VN enclave on the East Coast. I ordered their Pho Tai noodle soup and the Banh Mi roast pork, just to have a sampling of the dishes I like most. They were both quite good. Their small bowl of Pho was actually large enough to fill me. The broth was well seasoned and aged with nice rich flavor in the northern VN style of dark muddy beef extract. The side of accessories were ample and fresh (Thai basil, sprouts, sliced jalapeños and lime wedges). More than I could use. A large nest of noodles sat beneath the surface waiting to be pulled and separated with chopsticks and spoon. The lean thin sliced steak was simmering in the bowl at delivery to my table. A mix of hoisin sauce and sriracha was squirted into the side plate for steak dipping. I slurped and noodled as best I could, but the volume was too great, especially if I wanted to go after that Banh Mi. I did lift the bowl to my lips to drain as much of that delicious broth as I could. The sandwich was also excellent. Decent French baguette style roll, with well braised pork, daikon, carrot and cilantro. Crusty shell made way for lean bbq pork and crisp veggies for a great textural chew. The dining room was large, but a tad past its prime, and in need of fresh paint and some TLC. Service was friendly and efficient. My water glass was refilled several times. Prices were reasonable. Don't let the fact that Pho Kim's is a little out of the way deter you from a very enjoyable excursion to the suburbs of Hanoi. read more

Pho goodness is often in short supply in some of the areas around here but right in the middle of it all you will find Kim's where there is a selection for everyone! Coming here was something that was very needed as it was just the day for it as you can't ever go wrong with any type of Asian food. We ordered some spring rolls they had pork inside and it was served with some peanut sauce which just made for a yummy roll from start to finish. For my main dish I went with one of the various been pho's while it wasn't super flavorful it was good abs definitely very average when I compare it to others I've had but either way it was still good for the day the chili sauce was a real saver when it came to this as it added that much needed kick I didn't already find making it better. Overall this is a decent place to grab some pho I just hold my standards really high as I've grown up going to places like this wile it was yummy I just feel it didn't have enough of a kick for me with that said I wouldn't over look coming here again but I definitely wouldn't seek it out either way you so need some pho in your life! read more

We were passing through the area and randomly stopped at Pho Kim's. So glad we did, as we found our dishes to be delicious. I got the deluxe Pho with , tripe, beef tendons, flank and rare steak and more . The broth was flavorful and I scarfed down this bowl of aromatic goodness quickly. This placed came highly recommended for their Pho. During these covid times I order pick-up to give it a try. Started with the Pho Chay which is the vegetarian pho. I was given some very simple instructions on how to prepare it when I got home. I must say it was excellent!!!!! Flavor was amazing, I drank it down until nothing was left in my bowel. Plenty of food for one person. The wait time was about 10 min which I spent next door in the Asian market , walked out with a few items. read more

So this is one of the best Vietnamese stops we have made in awhile and I'm going to be finding excuses to go to Harrisburg to go back. I picked this place because they have some slightly different things on their menu including bao buns. These were different from what I normally see at a dim sum place. The bun was the same, if biggie sized, and inside was some ground pork, sausage, hard boiled egg and some other goodness. Normally I hate hard boiled eggs, but the texture and flavor of everything else was so good, it got lost. We also enjoyed the pork spring rolls. They were full of bbq pork, herbs and noodles. The better half raved about the peanut sauce, but I only had the Nuoc Cham and the chili garlic/ Sambal stuff on the table. We also had the papaya salad with shrimp. The salad was good and their Nuoc Cham is very flavorful. Then we moved into the banh xeo, one of the best we've had in awhile, maybe ever. It was crispy, flavorful and appropriately oily and filled with shrimp and bean sprouts. If you've read any of my other reviews on Vietnamese food you will know that the plate of herbs is very important to the better half and I and while ecstatic maybe bombastic, we were very happy with the huge pile of basil, cilantro and romaine to pick it up with. We had a good chat with the Owner about several topics and he took the time to ask about our favorite dishes and to recommend a few places near Philly to try. I thought it was funny when Jana mentioned one of her fave's is pho ap chow. His response was classic "how did that happen" I ended up taking a bon bo hue home for the better half and I to share later on. Oh, so good. BBH is a complex flavor, spicy, meaty and some funk from the shrimp paste, and Pho Kim nailed it. Sooo good, and they gave me a little tub of funky oily heat to mix in, so I could kick mine up a bit. The better half and I loved it, and even though it was a bit spicy for her tolerance she was looking for more. If you're in the Harrisburg area looking for some solid Vietnamese, with fun service (we describe the Owner as a Vietnamese White Water guide, which is a rare compliment) try this place out. Cheers read more
