Been coming here for years! The owner is so humble and sweet and has the best smile on his face all the time. I try to call to place takeout orders, I always get the shrimp pho with a Thai tea boba. They are very generous with the broth, and add in veggies and I appreciate it. This is my go-to for comfort meal or when I'm feeling under the weather. I'll never stop speaking up about how delicious this place is!!! Support family owner business very spacious inside, and perfect for first date or family meal

Honestly the only place I'll get Vietnamese food! I decided to try this place because it's the only one I can find that has Bo kho and isn't pho but you can have it either with the pho noodles or bread (banh mi) We ordered the Beef Stew with bread and a Rice Beef Dish, plus a side of egg rolls to share. The Beef Stew (Bò Kho) - the broth was flavorful, the beef was tender, and the bread was the best. Rice Beef Dish (Cơm Thịt Nướng) - the dish was also delicious and very juicy. My favorite appetizer was the egg rolls and it goes perfect wrapped with lettuce then dipped in their fish sauce! The service was quick and all the uncles were friendly. The restaurant was clean and inviting. We will absolutely be back to try the pho next time, but it's going to be hard to resist ordering the beef stew again! Highly recommend.

Came here on Monday dinner after a few delays getting into Burbank airport. The parking lot is one way just as a heads up! Food came out fast and the broth hit the spot. Not too greasy or salty. We got the house pho and we silently ate since we here hungry. The servers seemed like family and they were so attentive and nice. Just remember to head to the counter to pay. They take card here just so you know.

Best pho I've ever had. The broth was amazing, so tasty and flavorful. Eggs rolls were great as well. Vietnamese coffee was incredible just the right about of sweetness and strong coffee flavor. The service was quick and super friendly. I wish they were open during the weekend so I could make it out here more frequently.

The service here is great. The food is amazing. The ambience is not bad. I've been to other places that have fun, but I always seem to come back here. I would definitely recommend it if you enjoy eating pho.

Solid spot for Bahm mi's. For two sandwiches and fried egg rolls it was $26 before tip so a very affordable lunch The service is super fast too I saw some peoples pho's coming in within minutes

Came back here for the first time in a long time. They were busy for a Tuesday night but we got a table within moments. They turn tables around quickly. We got water and our order was taken within 5 minutes of being seated, if not less. The pictures show our steaming hot orders, the meat was perfectly cooked. We also got some fried egg rolls , not pictured, which were amazing and piping hot even after we'd let them sit for a few mins. I asked for extra lime when we ordered and as you can see they definitely delivered. All of the limes were juicy, never dry and pulpy. The place is clean and orderly.

Ask the Community - Pho Hot

Are you open on the weekends?

    They don't

I am allergic to nightshades including tomatoes potatoes, peppers, and eggplant. This includes seasonings such as chili powder, cayenne pepper, and paprika. Are the banh mi sandwiches or pho broth safe for my diet?

    It’s in your head

Since the recent openings for restaurants, are they offering sit down dining?

We will resume our normal business hours and indoor dining starting 06/21/2021. We are currently training our staff to meet safety measures recommended by LA County. Thank you.

My husband is allergic to seafood and seaweed, and doesn't eat beef or pork. Is the chicken pho or vegetarian pho good options?

    Yes

Does the beef broth use bouillon cubes? Does it contain wheat or soy?

It tasted pretty fresh as in no cubes...but of course calling them and finding out would be best

Does the pho contain MSG here?

There is no proof that MSG causes ill effects. That was a bunch of 70s racist lies. Please add MSG!

I usually don't leave negative reviews, but this experience deserves to be noted. We visited AJ…read moreNoodles last Saturday and ended up leaving after waiting an hour with no food because they were prioritizing online orders while we sat there. We arrived at 4:25. As soon as we were seated, I asked if I could place our order while we waited for the rest of our party, since I already knew what we wanted. The server said no--we had to wait until everyone arrived. Fair enough. Our friends arrived about five minutes later, but it still took about 15 minutes before anyone came over to take our order. The restaurant is small, and there were only about three other tables with customers, all of which were already eating. Thirty minutes after ordering, we still hadn't received a single item. My friend suspected they were fulfilling online orders first, so I went up to ask how much longer it would be. The response: another 30 minutes. At that point, after already waiting 45 minutes, we decided to leave. If the kitchen was that backed up, why not let us know? Why refuse to take the order when I first asked? Or at least warn us that the wait would be over 45 minutes? The food is good, but not worth that level of disregard for customers who are physically sitting in the restaurant. My friend later told me she's had issues with their customer service in the past as well. This was very disappointing, and we'll be choosing other ramen places from now on. It really seems like they're understaffed for the amount of dine-in and online orders they're trying to handle. Another person in the kitchen might make a huge difference.

Met up with my sister and her brother here for lunch. The wife found this place from a tiktok video…read moreand we decided to try it since we didn't get to try a lot of Taiwanese food on our trip to Taipei. When you come in, there is a sign that tells you to order before being seated. My sister and her bf had yet to arrive so I placed a sizeable order for the 4 of us. Luckily, they were there (waiting in the car) so I told them to walk over so we can be seated. I ordered 2 orders of chiayi chicken (1with white rice and 1 with brown rice), 2 orders of thousand layer pancake (1 with egg and 1 with egg and cheese), shrimp wonton, dance dan noodles, wonton noodle soup, hakka mochi and forbidden rice pudding. For drinks we had a few of the shaken iced green teas and 1 taro milk tea (my sister said it didnt taste like taro) Everything was great. I was surprised my sister's bf liked the food. The chiayi chicken was good with a bit of the chili sauce (sambal). The thousand layer pancake was good if you dip it in the black vinegar (mixed with chili oil and a little soy sauce). The shrimp wonton were surprisingly light and tasty. The dan dan noodles was balanced my medium thin sliced cucumber. Everything was portioned very small so you can try everything.we didnt get additional sides because were getting full. The desserts was what I was looking forward to and it did not disappoint. The hakka mochi reminded me of the soy pudding stalls in singapore that had mochi balls filled with a black sesame paste and peanut paste inside. This is what the hakka mochi was but in dry soft chewy form with black sesame and peanut grains to top it off. For my sister, it reminded her of the filipino dessert pichi pichi. The forbidden rice pudding reminded me of a soupy version of the filipino dessert biko. It had chunks of sweet potatoes and tapioca. Also very good but my bias is the hakka mochi. The ambiance was bright, bustling and inviting. Very small tables perfect for a quick bite. Highly recommend if you want a tapas style lunch that doesn't break the bank.

Came here with my friend on a Sunday about 15 mins before opening and there was already a line of…read morearound 20 people outside, so we knew expectations were going to be high. This Taiwanese spot in Highland Park is the sister restaurant to Pine & Crane and definitely has that same modern-casual energy with comforting dishes and efficient service. After looking over the menu, we ordered the minced pork rice with braised eggs & pickles, shrimp wontons, Dan Dan noodles, and two clamshell buns -- one with pork belly and one with five spice beef. The Dan Dan noodles were pretty classic and straightforward. I've definitely had better versions elsewhere, but it still hit the spot if you're craving something familiar. The minced pork rice, however, reminded me so much of my mom's braised pork and egg dish. It had that comforting home-cooked feel to it, though I did think it was missing a little something at first. Once I added soy sauce, black vinegar, and chili paste, it completely transformed the dish and gave it the perfect oomph. Same situation with the shrimp wontons -- the custom sauce combo really elevated the flavors. Now onto the clamshell buns: this was the star of the meal. We each picked different proteins so we could try both. I got the pork belly while my friend got the five spice beef, and we both agreed the pork belly was by far the more flavorful option. Super tender, savory, and balanced perfectly with the soft bun. For dessert, I got the forbidden rice pudding with coconut milk and sweet potato/taro balls. I appreciated that it wasn't overly sweet, and I loved the chewiness from the taro balls paired with the purple rice. Service was smooth and efficient from ordering at the front to food arriving at our table. I also liked how attentive the staff was with dessert timing -- they give you a card to attach to your table sign when you're ready for dessert instead of bringing everything out at once. Small detail, but thoughtful. The restaurant itself also had a charming aesthetic with traditional Chinese accents and cute up-cycled Asian jelly cans being used as utensil and napkin holders. Overall, portions were generous enough that we had leftovers, and the pricing felt fair for the amount and quality of food. I already want to come back to try more items like the thousand layer pancake and the Chiayi chicken rice next time.
