My friend got the beef one and he ordered another side of beef because there was literally 3 oz of beef in his large soup. For me there were 4 small balls of fish and very average broth. We came at a good time. Shortly after we walked in, a man put up a sign on the door that said "sold out". This was 30min before they closed at 9p. We made it in before close. yus. Granted there were 3 of us and we had to wait ~10min for a table to open up (all the tables that seated more than 2 were occupied), the wait went by quickly. When one opened up, the busboy quickly cleared the table and wiped it down. Walking to my seat, I almost slipped on a piece of meat that fell to the ground from him wiping down the table. I figured that they were close to closing and this was an accumulation of the day's mess, so I didn't make much of a fuss about it. Just glad we were able to get some warm soup; being sheltered from the cold weather was a plus. We ordered the fried egg rolls to start (they were just ok; my least favorite part of the meal tbh). And we each ordered a bowl of pho. I ordered a regular sized seafood extravaganza pho with crab meat, shrimp, fish cake and fish balls. For the same price as the other bowls, I think this was the best deal. My aunt got the regular steak pho and my uncle got the large house special pho. I had the house special during my last visit and it was pretty good. This restaurant is located in a small strip mall on San Fernando Blvd on the border of Burbank & Glendale. Parking can be an issue during peak times. But there are street parking right on San Fernando and on the smaller streets. Walking in, you get hit with that Pho aroma. Already, I was hopeful because any self respecting Pho restaurant will hit you will the aroma and/or make your clothes smell like it when you leave. I ordered the Large Special for $14.50. Pricing is a little steep, but being outside of SGV, it's comparable. As you'd expect, the food came out a few minutes after I placed my order. Added the lime, basil, cilantro, hoisin and Sriracha. After my first bite, I was amazed how fresh the rice noodles was. It was chewy and bouncy like how fresh noodles should taste. The broth was clean and flavorful. It had tripe and tendon which is not served at all Pho restaurants. This is comparable with the other Pho restaurants you would find in Little Saigon or SGV. Service was great and friendly. They all spoke English. I would definitely come back here before it starts to heat up again. read more

We stayed the night in Glendale after spending the day in Hollywood. What a great find. Thanks Yelp!! We were super hungry when we arrived. We *may* have over ordered but it worked out. We ordered 2 large chicken pho bowls, one chicken and rice dish, one kid's chicken pho, one order spring rolls, and one order or summer rolls. Yeah, a lot of food for two adults and two kiddos. The food was excellent. Traditional and the pho was almost like mom's growing up. The chicken was super tasty with a hint of lemongrass. The spring rolls were filling by themselves. The tables are long and are shared. Usually spaced with one or two seats in between parties. The food came out quickly. Everyone enjoyed their food. Even the kiddos ate most of their food. My 3yo had a second helping of chicken pho. Which says a lot! We'll be coming back here when we pass through town again. read more

This is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Glendale. I'm upgrading my review, because my Vietnamese friend said to try their spring rolls. I came today to try their spring rolls because A) Spring rolls are mostly Vietnamese vegetables with some form of protein B) Spring rolls are delicious. I was looking to try to eat something healthy due to my high cholesterol, and my Vietnamese friend suggested Shrimp spring rolls at Pho Hot. I've been here before for the Pho, but haven't tried the Shrimp spring rolls. They also have pork and shrimp, but I didn't want pork because it's usually high in fat and cholesterol. I bought one order of 2 shrimp spring rolls, and they were huge. Twice as big as Paper rice spring rolls in Pasadena, and significantly more delicious than Paper rice. Obviously, there are the authentic and tasteful places in areas of Westminster in Orange County or in San Gabriel Valley. However, we live in Glendale and getting around is not as easy with traffic congestion. Thank goodness this place provide a tasty Pho, which is great that the weather is getting cooler. We beat the rush and got seated right away, but halfway through our meal, this place was packed! We ordered spring rolls to share, I got the pho tai and he got the pho tai chin. I've been eating pho since the 80s in the Bay Area. I'm very particular about my pho (in an old school traditional sense). Pho Hot is great! I was craving a good bowl of pho after a hike and I found this restaurant. It was during the week around 2pm and there was no wait and the service friendly and quick. I saw there was a waiting list at the door but it was for the lunch rush. The restaurant is clean and modern. This will be my go to pho restaurant from now on! The meat portion is good, the frozen slices of rare cooled the broth faster than I would have liked which ultimately had an impact on flavor & texture. The bread was the perfect amount of crusty and fresh, delicious pickled vegetables, seedless jalapeño slices (for a little heat but not too much - I'm a wus with spicy!), fresh cilantro, and of course delicious pork. I placed my order as he suggested for pho #9 on the menu and few seconds later I changed my mind and wanted to get #10 instead. So I called back 23 more times and no answer. In terms of variety, it's very very limited... If you look at my order (egg rolls and a Pho Dac Biet small) for less than $20... It's not bad at all! For a vietnamese restaurant they are exceptionally attentive in terms of service. Food feels fresh: The soup is piping hot and the egg rolls are juiced with steam with every bite, nice and crispy and the stuffing is unique. I love when you can order a size S or L for your bowl of pho. I personally go for the S because it's same amount of meat but just less noodles, and then I can grab a side dish for other flavors.
