We stayed the night in Glendale after spending the day in Hollywood. What a great find. Thanks Yelp!! We were super hungry when we arrived. We *may* have over ordered but it worked out. We ordered 2 large chicken pho bowls, one chicken and rice dish, one kid's chicken pho, one order spring rolls, and one order or summer rolls. Yeah, a lot of food for two adults and two kiddos. The food was excellent. Traditional and the pho was almost like mom's growing up. The chicken was super tasty with a hint of lemongrass. The spring rolls were filling by themselves. The tables are long and are shared. Usually spaced with one or two seats in between parties. The food came out quickly. Everyone enjoyed their food. Even the kiddos ate most of their food. My 3yo had a second helping of chicken pho. Which says a lot! We'll be coming back here when we pass through town again. read more

I've been eating pho since the 80s in the Bay Area. I'm very particular about my pho (in an old school traditional sense). Pho Hot is great! I was craving a good bowl of pho after a hike and I found this restaurant. It was during the week around 2pm and there was no wait and the service friendly and quick. I saw there was a waiting list at the door but it was for the lunch rush. The restaurant is clean and modern. This will be my go to pho restaurant from now on! This is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Glendale. I'm upgrading my review, because my Vietnamese friend said to try their spring rolls. I came today to try their spring rolls because A) Spring rolls are mostly Vietnamese vegetables with some form of protein B) Spring rolls are delicious. I was looking to try to eat something healthy due to my high cholesterol, and my Vietnamese friend suggested Shrimp spring rolls at Pho Hot. I've been here before for the Pho, but haven't tried the Shrimp spring rolls. They also have pork and shrimp, but I didn't want pork because it's usually high in fat and cholesterol. I bought one order of 2 shrimp spring rolls, and they were huge. Twice as big as Paper rice spring rolls in Pasadena, and significantly more delicious than Paper rice. Never a disappointment. This is a great place to get a bowl of pho or a banh mi sandwich. Obviously, there are the authentic and tasteful places in areas of Westminster in Orange County or in San Gabriel Valley. However, we live in Glendale and getting around is not as easy with traffic congestion. Thank goodness this place provide a tasty Pho, which is great that the weather is getting cooler. Since i've relocated to the Burbank office, I've been dying to find a good pho restaurant. Thanks to my colleagues, I was able to really enjoy my lunch time... at Pho Hot! And i'm blessed to have so many colleagues, i'm able to visit Pho Hot, a 3 or 4 times a month. I grew up eating pho so my pho broth pallet is very particular. Smell, taste, texture... The meat portion is good, the frozen slices of rare cooled the broth faster than I would have liked which ultimately had an impact on flavor & texture. I placed my order as he suggested for pho #9 on the menu and few seconds later I changed my mind and wanted to get #10 instead. So I called back 23 more times and no answer. We beat the rush and got seated right away, but halfway through our meal, this place was packed! We ordered spring rolls to share, I got the pho tai and he got the pho tai chin. Spring rolls came out - we had requested both fish and peanut sauce which they happily obliged. It was fresh and light. The pho's were yummy - great broth and mine had a lot of pieces of rare steak. The broth is so good and the noodles were the right texture. I really like all the toppings they give you: bean sprouts, mint, lime, cilantro. The bread was the perfect amount of crusty and fresh, delicious pickled vegetables, seedless jalapeño slices (for a little heat but not too much - I'm a wus with spicy!), fresh cilantro, and of course delicious pork. In terms of variety, it's very very limited... If you look at my order (egg rolls and a Pho Dac Biet small) for less than $20... It's not bad at all! For a vietnamese restaurant they are exceptionally attentive in terms of service. Food feels fresh: The soup is piping hot and the egg rolls are juiced with steam with every bite, nice and crispy and the stuffing is unique. I love when you can order a size S or L for your bowl of pho. I personally go for the S because it's same amount of meat but just less noodles, and then I can grab a side dish for other flavors. Great price, good service, good vietnamese basics (but only basics -- if you want to go deeper then you won't find it here). Also the ceilings are high and the place is spacious. read more

It's very difficult to find authentic viet food and/or pho in LA without having to go to the San Gabriel area or small pockets of SGV. I hesitate to give this place the glowing, five-star review it richly deserves... only because it is going to become so overrun, so busy, that I will not be able to get a table ever again. But I won't let that stop me. The food is amazing. I've have almost every item on the menu and it is all fresh, expertly prepared and perfectly balanced. The folks who run the restaurant are delightful and truly care about their customers. They are gems. I am so grateful that they made it through the pandemic. I would have died if they had to close. This is the BEST place for pho in Glendale! I only came to know of Pho Hot after coincidentally seeing it during a drive, shame on the Yelp algorithm for practically keeping it hidden away for the last 2 years. This is a family-run establishment, serving amazing quality Vietnamese food. It seems like the owners of Pho Hot are also Vietnamese, according to other Yelpers. Their service is impeccable, the food is delicious, and the restaurant interior is super clean & cute. My table ordered the house special pho, a plain pho noodle, and a side of the grilled pork chop. The portion sizes were great and everything was cooked to perfection, *chefs kiss*! I really have nothing but praises to sing about Pho Hot. I'm so happy that I can get quality pho in the Glendale area now, no need to drive all the way out to Arcadia anymore :') I only wish they closed a little later but they're open until 8pm. I recommend getting there before 7pm if you don't want to wait too long for a table (the line was out the door on a Thursday evening). I was really delighted to see that this phở spot in Glendale was Vietnamese owned. I am tired of being disappointed by the franchises and fusion pho spots in Burbank. They're always busy and booming on a cold day, so be ready to wait if you come after 6PM. They're usually fast and efficient though, so it's just a matter of waiting for someone to finish their meal. I normally order phở tái with the meat on the side (I like to be able to slightly undercook the meat). I'll order this with spring rolls and occasionally a thai iced tea. Their thai iced tea isn't the best I've had, I think it just needs a little more of a kick (stronger tea perhaps?) but it's still pretty good. I will never had bad things to say about spring rolls, however most recently they ran out of pork. They let us know beforehand and if we wanted to cancel it, they gave us the option. I opted to still order it, just without pork, and it was still great. Their peanut sauce compliments the spring roll well. And the phở tái is always really good. Their broth is on point (take note, Mama Hong's!!!!!!!) but sometimes the noodle is slightly overcooked. It's not end of the world though, and it's only happened twice out of the handful I've been here. This is probably one of the better places you can get phở in the Burbank/Glendale area. I was too tired to drive to my usual spot in the valley (I miss you phở 999), so this is a great alternative. read more
