Ordered takeout late on a Friday night. Veggie tofu pho, size large. Size was advertised for 8.50. My bill was 10.45, so dunno how that happened. The broth and everything was good, the tofu was fried, huge chunks, and a little off tasting. Even tho I ordered a large to go, I feel as tho the containers were the same size and portions as the medium I got last time. Service was friendly and fast. Upon walking in to pick up a to go order, while waiting at the counter, I was not impressed. I was not greeted, but got to take a moment to read the sign posted on the register. I should have turned and run out the door. It said to call back if you have a problem, save your receipt and you must return your food within 3 hours of ordering/pick up. This said it all. I ordered 3 different Pho meals, a Vegan broth one, a chicken and a beef. The girl behind the counter went to hand me the box that was dripping from the bottom, she noticed this and said she would be back after she fixed it in the kitchen. I said, 'I am 30 minutes away, please make sure my order is correct and the Vegan broth is labeled, I can't come back if there is a problem.' She returned with a new box with the 3 phos packed. I was happy about that, tipped her 5 dollars and tossed a total of 30 down the toilet when I got home. I had no receipt, no labels on the styrofoam cups as to which broth was which. I tasted each one with a different spoon because we have a Vegan in our group. YOU CANT GUESS! The broth was less than impressive, tasted like it was made from a powder. My vegan daughter would not touch any of it. Writing on the lids would have been helpful. Then there was the sprouts. Disgusting, slimy and brown. Moving on to the culminating moments of the night, topping off the evening of disgust was finding a black hair about half way down the Chicken cup. The chicken was extremely Brown, dried and fatty. Ordered a pick up order got home and it was messed up. Had to drive back and PAY for their mess up. I've been a manager in the restaurant industry in different various atmosphere. If the place messes up your order you DONT make the customer pay for our companies mistake. That's common sense in the customer service industry. This place rules. Their spring rolls are incredibly fresh and tasty. I've been to numerous Vietnamese restaurants in the Tacoma area and the spring rolls from this place are probably one, if not the best around. Their Phö is pretty damn good as well, I always get flank and it's never disappointed me. Pretty expensive bubble tea though, an extra $0.50 for tapioca? Terrible service no acknowledgment for customers coming in, waited 10 mins for the server to walk up and ask if we wanted a menu, another 15-20 min waiting for the waitress to get our order. Ordered a combo sandwich, spicy chicken & pork. Although the meat was ok, the veggies were limp, no jalapeños and there was some kind of sweet sauce with or instead of the mayo - honey mustard? I am always on the look out for a good Bahn Mi sandwich. Stopped here and ordered a vegetable spring roll and a "spicy chicken sandwich." OMG, one of the best things I've ever stuffed in my face. Bread is not the traditional crispy baguette but all the stuff they put in a sandwich, the crispy baguette wouldn't work. It's a softer roll and functions like a wrap. Couldn't believe all the chicken. Wasn't spicy hot, just spicy good. If spicy food scares you, don't worry, it's pretty harmless. I e you're in the neighborhood do t miss this place. The noodles....The noodles are softer than Betty Whites nipples. It is if they boiled the noodles for 189 days on the sun. I am constantly haunted by the image of soft noodles everytime I enter this establishment. The amount of sodium seems high enough to kill a small child. The mini heart attacks continue as I slurp down each spoonful of the salty broth. But I still catch my self coming back for more. Coming back like a girl in a abusive relationship. So there is quiet a few good reviews for this place that I talked my husband into going here instead of his favorite Pho place for dinner.. big mistake! He was wanting Vietnamese egg roll and instead got fried egg roll that you can buy at jack in the box. We asked if they made them (which we knew already they didn't) and the waitress said nope, they just buy it. The pho tasted like the broth was made from those cube bouillon, we've eaten at a lot of Pho places and have friends who make homemade Pho to know the difference! The food is great, the service however is horrendous. Every time I come here the waitresses make me feel so uncomfortable. This will be my last visit. The last time I was here the waitress was annoyed that I wanted water and a soda. She also seemed bothered when I told her I was ready to order after she had brought two men some water and was more than happy to help them. It seems like because I'm a girl who's alone that to them I don't matter. And tonight they have to stand like three feet away from my table and reach to set my food on the other side of the table like I'm going to bite them or something. That's extremely insulting. If I want Pho or Ramen this is the one spot I go to I live close to south Tacoma way but still come all the way over here to get my pho it's quick and so good they servers are always nice and it's always busy even when there aren't people there they are always getting calls for to go orders. I have eaten here a couple of times and have to say the food is good. I like the Pho and their fried rice. The one thing that is lacking...well based on my recent visit is good customer service. The restaurant was not full only one other table with 3 people there besides my table with also 3 people. The waiter took a long time to give us the menu and took a while to decide to take our orders. He also forgot some items from our order after we got our food. He was also texting the whole time we were there and didn't check on our table to see if everything was ok. Darn good bahn mi! And great to have another pho place open til 4, that's further east than the south tacoma way ones. I didn't try the pho, but it smelled really good. The pork bahn mi was on a softer roll, and I really loved the shredded cucumber on it, and a little more flavorful sauce than most. I got takeout, and when I got home I found they put soy sauce, hot sauce and napkins in the bag, which most don't. As far as Pho goes it was different then other places I have been. Today we had the beef pho. The broth was darker then other places, not a lot of grease to it, and heavier on the five spice. We had the medium size, it was perfect for lunch. I noticed none of the tables had soy sauce on them, you had to ask. We also shared the spring roll Goyza plate. I have my spring roll with no ham or pork. It was well wrapped and the ingredients were fresh and snapped when biting into them. The peanut sauce had good flavor and was not greasy either. It wasn't too thick and a darker in color than I have seen at most shops. Husband states the Gyoza was pretty good. Over all I would stop in here again and try other things. Maybe the chicken pho next time. The waitress was friendly and checked on us and thanked us for coming in when she found out it was our first time there. read more

Very disappointed with our experience here. We usually go to mama pho, but decided to try pho ever because it's closer to home. When ordering, the woman behind the counter had her cell phone on the counter and was literally texting while we were ordering. After a long pause (and after I watched her hit send) she put it into the computer. She wasn't the most pleasant individual. Their Bahn mi is not made with pate ,which is my own personal preference, their portions are very small and overpriced compared to many other places we have been, the number 10 we got didn't get any raw beef only well done and the broth is pretty bland. I am not a fan of pho, but I looooove me some chicken noodle salad with house dressing! It's so light and refreshing any time of the year! I am sad that I don't have one close to home anymore since I have moved up to Seattle. I'm sure they have it up here somewhere I just haven't looked yet. Stopped in for pho. Was not disappointed. There were three of us and our food came out one plate at a time with 3 to 5 minutes between them. The food more than made up for that. Pho tastes like any other pho place - food is fresh .. Always has been a good eating establishment EXCEPT one time (recently) when I ordered a very large order to go. The gal who took my order read it back to me and I confirmed it. Spent about $80 and asked for NO cilantro in all the orders. The only time I spend so much money on pho and what happens ??? Extra cilantro was found in ALL by pho I'm sure it was the cook- called the restaurant and a lady gave her apologies and took my phone number ... Not sure what for.
