    Lemongrass Beef with Thin Noodles
    Amanda H.

We were very impressed with our Door Dash order the other day. My husband ordered the rare beef pho and we both enjoyed the flavorful broth. I ordered the lemongrass beef with noodles and upgraded to thin noodles for $1. Meat was very flavorful and the thin noodles put it over the top. Taro slush bubble tea was a nice treat.

The best beef noodle soup! Probably one of the better Vietnamese restaurants in Hamilton. Came here for a late night dinner. Food was very fresh and the wait time was not very long. Ordered the Bánh Cuôn Nóng Chà Lua (steamed rice rolls with ground meat inside) for a nice change, instead of the usual order of fried spring rolls and fresh spring rolls, and was happy with the appetizer choice. It came with a side of cooked bean sprouts, topped with fried shallots. Also ordered the #323 Rare beef and stewed tripe pho which had a great tasting broth and plenty of rice noodles too. The decor was great, comfy and clean. Overall would stop by here again in a pinch when craving delicious tasting Vietnamese food.

Pho, deep fried spring tools, fresh rolls with beef, pork vermicelli bowl

Been going here since it opened and the interior is a nice place to dine in. It's a seat yourself kind of place and order what you want on the order sheet already on the table. I ordered a M sized bowl of pho with everything in it. Good but average. Cousin ordered the vermicelli, I'm always hesitant to order the vermicelli here because they use a different type of noodle not the thin rice ones. We ordered deep friend veggie spring rolls and fresh grilled beef rolls. Both average. We also ordered the Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk. Very strong! It was good though. Will I come again? Yes because it is close by to my childhood home and I always end up here when I'm back in Hamilton.

Well this visit was not as good as the last one. Only two tables seated when we arrived Ordered our appetizer and main dishes The complimentary pot of tea arrived as soon as we where seated as expected The wait staff where pleasant and attentive once you got there attention that is. Or main dish arrived but no appetizer the kitchen forgot The main dish was good as last time and we will return as the food is good.

This pho restaurant is a okay choice if you're looking for something average. The service was good but the cleanliness is below average. Tables are sticky and water glasses are dirty. Not a bad choice if you need some pho quick and they only accept cash!

Classic pho with rare lean beef and tripe.

Ambiance was great. The restaurant looked and felt very clean and modern. Service was quick and the price was reasonable.

Had the Pho Tai and it was pretty good. You can get it in three different sizes. I had the medium and it was plenty. I've had better, but I wouldn't hesitate to come here again. Also had the mango salad, and that is a meal in itself. I wouldn't recommend ordering both unless you're really hungry, or in a group. It was cash or debit only when I was there. The menu is pretty extensive and there were a number of people there and also some getting take out.

Decent pho but stars docked for service. We always feel rushed eating here, and on top of that, the servers aren't friendly.

Speaking as a Vietnamese background, Pho here tastes alright. But what amazed me was their appertizer wraps! Delicious!

Fast service. Great food. Great prices. A favourite of mine would have to be the shrimp/salad rolls with peanut sauce.

The new additions of banh mi and bao round out the menu by offering slightly smaller meals at lower prices. We've tried lots more over our many visit, and have yet to find a dish we haven't enjoyed. The Vietnamese coffee is a treat, with a deliciously sweet mix of sweetened condensed milk and coffee. In terms of ambiance and service - the restaurant is spacious and the seats are nicely spread out. The noise isn't overly loud and you can actually have a conversation while you eat. The servers are attentive and check in often. The only disappointment we've ever had is the day we went to get a meal only to find out it was fully booked out for a holiday party. Now we know to call ahead of time in the holiday season - it sees others love this place just as much as we do!

For appetizer we ordered their spring rolls and bo la lot and both dishes tasted fantastic and savory. The peanuts on top of the bo la lot was a great addition and spring rolls were nice and crispy, both are great options to start your meal. For my main I ordered the bun bo hue and my family all ordered their bowl of pho. The pho broth was nice and light but still had great flavours from all the pho spices. My bun bo hue was also delicious and flavourful. A great bowl of soup to warm up the soul during the cold fall weather. The pieces of meat that comes with the bowl was also cooked well and was tender. We will definitely return whenever we come visit Hamilton area.

From the outside it doesn't look like much but inside it's quite inviting - there is a big fish tank! I had a classic vermicelli bowl with pork, spring roll and beef wrapped in green leaves. The pork was hot off the grill with a strong charbroiled taste. The beef in green leaves is something I have never had before and I found it to be a tasty little flavor addition to the meal. Spring roll was hot and crispy and also very good. The bowl had a good portion of herbs that makes for that fresh taste the is so much a part of Vietnamese food. My traveling companion had a spicy satay noodle soup with beef, which I had a few bites of and it was delicious. We are always looking for satay soup at Vietnamese places but it is sometimes hard to find. We were excited that Pho Lac Vien has such a great version of it. I really wanted to come back the next day and have one of those, but we were just passing through and will have to wait for the next time we are in Hamilton. We treated ourselves to Vietnamese coffees with condensed milk and ice - a perfect compliment to our food. All in all, a memorable meal and with very freindly service to round it all out.

I've only had Bahn Mi a few times and I have to say it was mediocre at best so I was expecting more of the same. Wow! Wow! Wow! McQueen's is like night and day with other Bahn Mi places. The taste and the flavors are of the chart. The place is just a sandwich shop with no seating and only about 6 offerings of Bahn Mi. I went with their classic recommendation The Saigon with was pork based with pork belly, pate and roast pork as well as some great veggies. But the standout was the bun ...crispy,crunchy,flaky on the outside and like a soft pillow on the inside. Delicious! I couldn't stop eating it once I started bite after bite... barely swallowing before the next bite.. it was gluttonous! I had found a sandwich which I would drive 45minutes to buy easily! The staff were extremely nice and feel they really care about putting out quality food! Easily a 5 star rating! Thanks McQueen's see you so
