Imperial Spicy Beef Noodle Soup - Bún Bò Huế

Located in a relatively quiet suburb just down the street from Ft. Belvoir is this local pho spot. Plenty of parking in front as it is part of the gunston plaza with other businesses. Food was good but lacked that wow factor. They messed up my order twice which was concerning the attention of the staff. I was there on a rather quiet weekend evening. The dessert was disappointing with extra whipped cream on top. The Thai iced tea was very much diluted as well.

Sever was friendly I guess too friendly because a another waiter took over. I ordered combination pho and 2 bunh Mi sandwich. The combination was missing meatballs and other meats, very disappointed I had the bunh Mi to go for later but later is now. I'm still hungry. I guess I'll just eat pho when I'm back in Atlanta or just try another dish next time I travel.

Pho with rare steak and tendon. The broth was perfect. Great price too.

Located in an assuming Lorton strip mall, this restaurant is elegant and serves tasty pho. The server was friendly, and the food turned around quickly. The pho was flavorful, abundant, and inexpensive with good cuts of meat. This is everything you want to get your Vietnamese kick. Bonus points: there is a good selection of other dishes, including a plate featuring pate.

My brother and I grab dinner not expecting to order any noodle dish until their ac unit kick in .. lol. This place is off Rt. 1 in the Gunston Plaza surrounding with other businesses. As you walk in, the restaurant is somewhat spacious, clean, has a bar and some interior decor. We order 6 items: 1) Crispy spring rolls 2) Chateau roti curry 3) Lemon butter wings 4) Pho 5) Mango sticky rice 6) Coconut pandan crème brûlée. The crispy spring rolls arrive to the table hot so watch your first bite. The outer skin is unique, mochi-like filled with pork, vermicelli and vegetables which were very delicious. The chateau roti curry was very good but the curry broth is a little sweet and watery. It would have been much better if it was a little thicker so as you dipped it in, the curry sauce would stay on instead of running away. The lemon butter wings were mediocre. It was crispy but no lemon flavor hinted in the wings itself. The dipping sauce on the side was unique and tasty like a water down buffalo sauce with a hint of vinegar. The next time will try the volkayno wings which are simmered in a sweet and spicy habanero sauce. Due to the ac unit kicking in, we both ended up ordering our selected pho. The broth was amazing good before adding the essential condiments. The mango sticky rice was promising but as we all know the fresh mangoes are unpredictable. The coconut sticky rice was warm but needed a little more sauce because the rice absorb most of it. The coconut pandan crème brûlée unfortunately fell flat for us. The majority of the flavor was the pandan, We couldn't taste the infused coconut and it stated it was a brûlée but there was no contrast taste of caramel or the crackling of the sugar on top. Maybe because it arrive in a cup bowl with whipped cream and one maraschino cherry. Our server Lance was friendly, humorous, attentive and knowledgeable. We will make another visit to try other items on their menu.

So delicious, def recommend this Vietnamese restaurant. Nice and clean interior with booth as well as regular seats. The restaurant also has a bar where you can order alcoholic beverages as well. Pho (5/5) Best pho i've had in a while. Strong meat broth which I craved and missed so badly. Def will be back. My friends also really enjoyed their dishes!! Servers were so sweet and accepted all our requests for additional lime, separate checks, more utensils, etc. They even came and checked on us. Def want to come back, the quality of food as well as amazing service and clean interior makes me want to eat here more!!

    "Beef stew"

Awful experience. I ordered the beef stew with pho noodles. The beef was not edible because it all was covered in fat, there was even TWO huge chunks of fat in the soup. None of that was mentioned in the description of the soup and our server kept trying to say it's normal. Another person at the table got pho and that broth was also bland just like the stew. I have previously dined here and will not be coming back! If I could give no stars I would :)

Great Vietnamese fare. Fantastic service, The location sits in a busy strip mall south of Fort Belvoir, but you can easily see the orange Pho Chateau letters. Parking lot for all the stores can get busy during the lunch hours. We were seated and water was served while we decided on our food. Pho lunch specials $14.95 (s) or $16.95(l) pho that comes with a one spring or one summer roll and a drink. Any pho from the menu is available pho the special. The summer roll was fresh and was loaded with lots of shrimp. The crunchy spring roll looked crunchy and was the same size. The sweet tea tasted like sweet jade tea Arnie Palmer It was good, but I was saving space for the pho. They place a small plate of sides (bean sprouts, mint, jalapeño, and lime) came out first. If you like cilantro, you have to ask for it. They have some in the pho, but...if you cilantro, you need more. There is a sizeable difference between the small and the large bowls. The small is like a medium and the large is for the very hungry. The broth was good. The meats were plenty. I didn't waste any time in devouring my food that's pho sho. Plenty of tables in their dining area pho parties of all sizes. I enjoyed the efficiency of service and the taste of the pho at this place. It was nice they could accommodate a group of five easily at lunch time without blinking. I would return pho this and their other food.

Hands down our favorite Vietnamese spot in the area. Have eaten in and done take out numerous times and the quality is always great! The crispy spring rolls are a must every time as well as some Thai tea. Their rice platters and pho broth are super flavorful.

I'm a huge fan Vietnam's famed breakfast soup, but sadly this spot was pho-gettable. I've passed Pho Chateau many times, so I figured I'd give it a try. I ordered the fried spring rolls and Phở. My favorite spring rolls are from Vietnam, so I was looking forward to these. Sadly, they were under seasoned and their nước chấm wasn't enough to liven up the dish. Also, the spring rolls were too oily. I surmise the oil wasn't hot enough and/or they didn't let the spring rolls drain. As for the Phở, I had #B89 (Well-Done Brisket, Fatty Brisket and Soft Tendon - Phở Chín, Gầu, Gân). I asked them for no soft tendon and to just add a little extra of the other meat. First, the dish came out with soft tendon, so I picked it out. My server saw me and was apologetic about it. They brought me a small bowl of the other meats to add to my soup. The broth lacked the characteristic richness and unctuousness you expect from Phở. It was under seasoned as well. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the meats were tender, so that was good. The restaurant itself was nice, clean, and inviting. I asked for more fish sauce and was given a little dispenser with it. My server also brought me a caddy with different condiments because they knew I was looking to enhance/ improve the flavor of my food. That was nice. My server was great. They were very warm, answered questions I had about the menu, checked in on me, and even engaged in light banter. The customer service here is good. I cannot recommend this place on account of the quality of the food I had. Sadly for Pho Chateau, Northern Virginia is saturated with Vietnamese restaurants and the competition is steep.

Food - 5/5 Service - 2.5/5 Ambiance - 3/5 Food was great! Flavorful, seasoned well and wasn't too heavy. Service needs more improvement. Will be back to try more dishes. 5/5 if it was just based on food.

YUM - Pho Chateau, you are such a delicious find! This family-owned and -operated local Vietnamese restaurant offers various appetizers, pho, vermicelli dishes, rice platters, house specialties, desserts, and even beer & wine. We came here for a later lunch, and we ordered: +a Pho lunch special - this came with your choice of a small or a large bowl of pho (your choice of protein; seafood is priced higher), which comes with your choice of a spring or a summer roll, and a beverage (tea, lemonade, soda); the small bowl of pho with just fatty brisket was more than enough; there was a good amount of tender brisket, noodles, and onions, with a plate of fresh veggies; the pho broth itself was very hot, savory, and soothing! I did like the summer roll, as it came with shrimp, and the side of peanut sauce that came with was thick and chunky +a Banh Mi Combo - prepared with garlic mayo, cucumber slices, jalapeno slices, pickled daikon & carrots, and your choice of protein (grilled pork, beef, chicken, or marinated tofu); served with a side of crinkle-cut fries; this banh mi really hit the spot! The baguette was extremely crusty and fresh, and the sammie was generously filled; I opted for the beef, and I'm glad that I did; it was marinated well and was so flavorful! Service was super welcoming, kind, and pleasant - we were checked in on throughout our dining experience, and we really were made super comfortable! The place itself has plenty of seating, and there seemed to be many regulars coming in for meals as well as for carry-outs. I'm definitely returning for their pho and their banh mis, but I'd love to try the rest of their menu! Located in the Gunston Plaza, there's plenty of parking in the shared plaza lot. +delicious banh mis! +yummy pho! +weekday lunch specials! +friendly and kind service! +located in the Gunston Plaza +plenty of parking in the shared plaza lot

This week in 2026 is the 6 year anniversary of when things were shutting down from Covid. On Monday, 3/16/20, I was very busy in the office preparing for roughly 80% in office/20% work at home (not counting any work travel) to 100% work at home starting the next day as virtual meeting company President said office is shutting down for the time-being. That next day, Tuesday, 3/17/20, I had work travel to Prince William County as we were trying to get stuff work done, and any day they could've shut their doors, which I think they did on Thursday, 3/19/20. They had gotten rid of the comfortable seating and had individual chairs spaced far apart and tape to stay 6 feet away from representative I needed to see. Any paper, etc being handed involved a bit of stretching, but we made do, and I got the work done. Experience at Water's End Brewery: My girlfriend of the time tagged along for my work travel. Before we got to my Prince William County work, we stopped for pizza slices in this same center for lunch. We saw Water's End Brewery out there selling beer to go since their indoor brewery was closed to the public. My g/f wanted, and I think we bought 2 beers to take to go. Staff was very nice, and the beer was pretty good. Conclusion: That Spring I had one more work travel to Prince William County on Friday, 4/24/20. Of course, the building was shutdown. They had a bunch of big drop-boxes outside, which someone would pick up once a day. Made my job easier except for the 2 minutes I was making sure I was putting in the correct drop-box. But a lot faster than going in to do the work dealing with the people. Also, on 4/24/20, I smashed the record for longest without getting gas, 38 days. I had gotten gas on 3/17/20 in PW County, and then 38 days later on 4/24/20 as the gas was very cheap in PW County then. Interestingly, as I write this today, 3/12/26, I'm currently tied at 38 days without getting gas (It was Mon., 2/2/26) & may go several days longer without. I would've never bet that break this Covid-era record in pre-retirement life, but I had major surgery on 2/9 & was in hospital for 16 days + a few days at home without driving right after hospital.

The waffles are also a standout, typically topped with light and airy cream. The merguez lamb sausage is also hearty and delicious. I wish the building itself was larger.
