My experience of Pho is near bang on the same as the lovely Gemma G's. On arrival we encountered a slightly, distracted waiter but our actual server was quite sweet despite not knowing the menu very well. (I always need a recommendation - can't bare food envy!) I had the prawn rice paper rolls and they were ok but again felt as if they'd been sitting around for a while... For mains I had the house Pho, (beef broth, sliced steak, prawns + tofu) which was quite exciting to look at as it comes with a load of herbs and chilli to whack in according to your own preference, I whacked it ALL in and still felt it was lacking in flavour. The noodles are SO bland, I get that they need to compliment the other flavours but when most of the dish is bulked out by big noodles they overwhelmed me with their blandness. Pass the salt. Pass the chilli. Pass anything that stops me feeling beige! My companions curry was nothing to write home about. The food was ok. Not terrible, not amazing, just middle of the road. We'd arrived about 8.30pm on a Sunday and ordered a bottle of wine and although we'd finished the food we'd still had half a bottle left to finish. Again like Gemma's experience - they'd made it clear to us they wanted to shut up shop and had switched the music off and blasted all the lights on. We'd only been seated 45 mins at the most. We got the message.

I wanted to give this place a go as I love Vietnamese food. However my boyfriend and I were left so disappointed after the meal here. I had the veggie spring rolls as a starter which was tasty. But when our pho came, it all went downhill. The soup was tasteless and the noddles were just not cooked well. My chicken also tasted like it was shredded and then thrown in there at the last minute. But on a good note, service was prompt and friendly. Sorry Pho, but I don't think I'll be coming back.

My first taste of Vietnamese food & I loved it. The staff were super friendly & chatty, there was a really great atmosphere all around us. Luckily we booked ahead because it was really busy & I can see why. I tried the Pho Tam which is a tiger prawn noodle soup - the ingredients were so fresh & tasty, it was really good. After all the goodness I ended my meal with banana fritters & honey ice cream which was delicious. I will definitely be back to try some spicier options next time.

Whenever I'm in Brighton I always go to Pho. It's my favourite restaurant! The restaurant itself is trendy, hip and modern which fits well being in Brighton. The staff are always quick, helpful and friendly and the food is so tasty and fresh every time. I usually take the Crispy pork spring rolls with peanut sauce and they are so delicious. I also take the tofu and mushroom cari which is just so yummy. It's packed full of fresh vegetables and fills you up. Portion sizes are great for the value of money! Would definitely recommend Pho to anybody visiting Brighton. The lunch deal between 12-5 is also worth going for.

The last time I went to Pho was about 5 years ago when I was still at Uni. I really didn't enjoy it, but I think that's because I went for something (Pho/Broth with noodles) that isn't really my cup of tea. However I went again last weekend, as Scott and I fancied somewhere different and I thought I would give it another shot. I'm really glad I did! We had a delicious starter of pork spring rolls and chicken wings. They were both really tasty and flavoursome. For the main I opted for the 'broken rice' with brisket. Scott had the same but with chicken. It came in a coconut based curry sauce that was really nice. I imagine it to be the Vietnamese version of a Katsu Curry. I know what to get the next time I go to Pho :)

    Is this all the chicken.

First, the food quality is good and reasonably priced (13 pounds). I ordered the big bowl pho soup includes noodles, meatballs, and beef with a side helping of bean sprouts to add. It was satisfying and hearty. The only blemish was that the broth had a bit more fat than I would have liked. Location is convenient for visitors to Brighton. It's on Preston Street near the Waitrose supermarket. From the Brighton I-360 tourist attraction, it's about 1-2 blocks north away from the water. From Churchill Square (near the clock tower), it's about a 5-7 minute walk to the west (along the street that is reserved for buses and taxis only). The restaurant is a bit tiny - I would recommend it for solo diner or couples. It's not convenient for a large group. Preston Street has a nice boba tea shop across the way and other restaurants that are worth a look-see. Overall, I would recommend "the Big Bowl" for visitors to Brighton who are looking for authentic Vietnamese pho.

It was tasty and cost just under £9. Service was very friendly and nice. I will definitely come back and try other items on the menu!

This is a little gem in Leyton. What makes this Vietnamese restaurant stand outs, is that it has a slightly different added menu, it still makes the traditional food, but stuffed chicken wings? Saying that, the traditional dishes were just as splendid, full of mouth watering flavours, combining with the freshness and texture when taking that first bite. And there was no skimping on the portion sizes. I left that restaurant quite full. The venue itself was spacious and open. really cool modern and simple decorating, but it works. Even when the restaurant was full, still did not feel crowded, quite the opposite, relax with a buzz vibe. That was also due to the part of the waiters, who were very friendly, attentive, and on point. They have some really good lunch offers at the moment, so that really helps, but generally the cost is quite decent and value for money, comparing to other Vietnamese restaurants. Other than parking and its awkward location, one way narrow road, I would say this is a good place to eat.

It feels like you're at a Thai tea party or something! If you want to sit in this area, I'd advise calling ahead. The food is delicious and the attention to detail is impeccable- every dish comes with really ornate carved vegetable flowers. Ok, so maybe this is a pretty standard Thai garnish, but I'm telling you some of the flowers that will arrive on your plate are incredible! Everything I've eaten here has been delicious, but I can particularly recommend the vegetable tempura to start and the king prawn red curry as a main. Yum, I truly love this place!
