Welp, in my never ending quest to find the best pho in El Paso I think I might've found my favorite. I ordered a large pho tai, expecting a medium sized bowl. I don't know what it is about EP, but a large here is a medium everywhere else in the country. Not at pho bistro! The large was gigantic!! The broth was pretty tasty and with half a bottle of sriracha it was exactly what I needed. The beef was definitely not the best but it wasn't terrible either (a tad too chewy). I don't know about there other food but my wife was pleased with their vermicelli and pork. There are a couple more pho places I need to try but I definitely found my "go to"place until I find a better one. The interior was pleasant and clean. The server was nice and kept the water refilled. Honestly I have nothing bad to say about pho bistro. Wish the beef was a little higher quality, but not a dealbraker. Very good and quick. We got the shrimp spring rolls (good size), rice noodles with seafood, and a mango boba tea. Everything was good and served hot and quickly. My mother was not able to finish her rice noodles, but they gave us a big to-go container to safely take it home. read more

My Husband and I came to El Paso from Las Cruces to visit The Tobacco Tin and pick up a few things there and saw PHO BISTRO in the same shopping center, so we stopped in.....IT WAS DELICIOUS! The service was Suuuuuper friendly, attentive and fast! We had Cheese & crab wontons and an order of Vietnamese eggrools to start with and both were, DELICIOUS isn't even a fitting word for how good they were! And the dipping sauce!?!?we asked if they sold bottles of it. (They do not) My Husband had the Spicey Noodle Soup w/Chicken&Beef. He said it was JUST what He needed and it worked better than any allergy medicine could! I had the Reg.bowl of Rice Noodle w/Shrimp. It was the BEST soup EVER! The shrimp was PERFECTLY cooked, the broth was mild in flavor but perfect for a warm day, the veggies were soooooo fresh, fragrant & flavorful! We can't wait to eat the leftovers! Our family just moved to the area so we're trying out all the local restaurants to get a good feel of what's good and what's not. Given the mixed reviews and the fact that I'm a Pho snob, we were a little apprehensive about trying out this Pho place. The food was good, portions were very large and we'll probably return again. Our waitress was very attentive and returned to ask if we needed anything and if we liked our food a few times during the meal. She was very prompt when asked for things such as extra bowls, napkins, more water etc. The pho was good, I didn't taste much of the pho spices but it was a delicious broth nonetheless. We ordered the small bowls of pho and it was a very large portion. My husband ordered bun thit nuong and also received a large portion. Most vietnamese restaurants we go to don't have very good nuoc mam, it's normally just water and vinegar. This restaurant however, makes it the way I do at home; with thai peppers, garlic and fish sauce. There is a 15% military discount and they also have Boba tea. We haven't tried the boba tea yet but it's buy 1 get 1 at $1-something. read more

I don't know if they can really call this place Vietnamese food spot. Their menu even have a VIETNAMESE sandwich section of which it listed Teriyaki beef! The spring roll is done by a kid (as one reviewer mentioned) Its half way to a burrito size. Compensating the low quality with portion. The pho was inly ok if you are really starving as I was. I walked from my hotel from the other side of the freeway to this place. The meat must have been boiled for half an hour then set aside until ordered. The cilantro stems were limp. Came here alone on a business trip. Was tired of all the Mexican food in El Paso, needed something light. Easy to find off the road in an old strip mall. Decent parking. Close to the airport. I like places that don't have hundreds of items on the menu so this was nice. Food was average to better than average, not awesome but not bad. Server was nice although he asked me no less than 12 times if I needed anything else which got annoying. Had the Vietnamese grilled chicken salad. Chicken was juicy and tender over a bed of lettuce, tomatoes, shredded carrot, shredded cucumber and shredded radish. Sauce was vinegar based and light with garlic and mild spices. Shrimp spring rolls were ok, although messy and fell apart. Peanut sauce was ok not great. Generous portions. Decent selection of pho and vermicelli dishes. The food: when the broth tastes like stock made from bones that were simmering for a long time, then you came to the right place. Nourishing. Tasty. Satisfying. Like it supposed to be. A quick look around, from your seat in the dining area, will indicate that you are sitting in the real deal. Mama-san and Papa-san are cooking and going back and forth. Like they are supposed to. The noodles are the real deal, not like some places that try to fool you with spaghetti noodles, Chinese mein, or Japanese ramen or soba noodles. The spring and summer rolls: real deals that taste good. I can go on but I will not. Closing remarks: the food is excellent. The service: upstanding, friendly, quick, mindful, expert, and sincere. Hard not to enjoy when the service is excellent. Closing remarks: you will get excellent service on any day and at anytime, you go there. The atmosphere: standard Asian place with upgrades. Clean dining area. Clean restroom. Easy access from the street and parking lot. Seating area is not too crowded. TV is visible and not distracting. Utensils, tables, condiments, and floors are clean and neat. Closing statement: no health hazards apparent. The prices: affordable and reasonable. You get what you pay for. Fair deal. Try any of the pho choices. I like the beef ball and rare steak. Drop your fresh veggies into the bowl and broth. Let them soak a little. Watch the rare steak cook in the broth. Use a fork or chopsticks in one hand. Hold your soup spoon in your other hand. Drink a spoonful of broth first, then dip the soup spoon in some hoisin sauce topped with siriracha. Grab some noodles mixed with bean sprouts and veggies with your fork or chopsticks, dip in the sauce and then suck them up. Boom! Follow up with some beef ball or steak. Boom-boom! Drink another spoonful of the broth. Boom-boom-boom! Repeat till complete. Love this place. So will you. read more

My coworkers and I were looking for a Pho restaurant when we happened to drive by here and decided to stop. Even though the prices were kind of high, we all ordered the pho. When we tasted it, we agreed that it was terrible. We tried adding the garnish and different combinations of Soy and hoisin sauce, but it was beyond help. I ate it anyway, but one of the guys barely touched it. When the waitress came back, he let her know that the pho wasn't good. She responded by shrugging and walking away. I was eating out two-three times a week here as of last night . I came in to pick up the "usual" but I finally realized this restaurant had become way to complacent already. When I first walked in there was no one even at the front counter for about 5-10 mins. Once I arrived home with my food I was disappointed to find that my chicken was cold / old seemed like it was just leftover from through out the day. They also had given me an empty chopstick wrapper. Unfortunately this is about the third time they have messed up ( usually less minor) although the food taste amazing when served right, as of last night that was and will be my last visit of this place. read more

The Spring Rolls were not wrapped tightly and were very - not right - with sparse meat, lettuce that was not chopped fine enough, and the noodles were too thick. The Bun (Rice Noodle Bowl) too, suffered the same, needing thinner noodles (to better carry the sauce), finer chopped lettuce, and the Grilled Beef just wasn't tasty. Just OK. Service is always great when I've visited. I've eaten the vermicelli bowls and the pho. Both are really tasty. I've tried several pho places around the east side of EP and although it's not spiced like a traditional pho the broth is deicious. I would definitely recommend it. Friends I've eaten with have never complained. Not sure about the bad reviews here, but definitely hasn't been my experience. Oh, and for to go orders they always box everything really nicely and have even helped me carry large order to the car. #winner read more

I had better expectations based on the reviews on here and Google. I have enjoyed Pho since experiencing it in Hawaii. Haven't had any since we left so I decided to give this place a try. Definitely regret it. The server was not the nicest and was too busy entertaining her groups of friends at a table. She was just sitting with them and laughing obnoxiously and sipping on her drink. The food came out pretty fast so props to them. The large pho was really large but it had absolutely no flavor. Even after adding all the sides provided. As a last resort I added salt. I still couldn't get a good flavor out of it. The shrimp and pork spring rolls were huge. A actually enjoyed those but they were messy to eat because of how big they were they were not properly wrapped. My daughter got chicken and rice. Her chicken came out cold. Based on the tasteless pho and inattentive server I will not be returning. read more

A friend and I were looking for somewhere to eat when we happened to pass this place. We decided on a whim to try it out and I have to say, it did not disappoint at all. The pho was amazing and their portions are huge. My friend got the teriyaki chicken and also loved it. I liked it so much, I drug my husband there the following week. He doesn't like Asian food but loved their fried rice. Next time I think I'll try their curry chicken. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. It is refreshing to know there is a pho restaurant nearby. What puzzles me is why the soups cost so much compared to California pho restaurants. The tables are kinda set high or the chairs are too low. There's lots of parking lot outside and the staff is friendly. The food is as expected but pricy. The pho is served with cilantros instead of fresh basil. The fresh basil is so worth the price, but here there is none to be found. The portion is decent...I'd say Texas sized for a regular. There were no napkins nor forks upon being served (I had to ask), but they provided them after the fact. Beef tendons could have been cooked just a bit more. So for lunch I've ordered 1). 1/2 order Shrimp Springrolls, 2-piece.They were humongous in size. 2). 1/2 order Eggrolls, 2-piece.They were terrible tasting and extremely greasy and dripping oil to the touch. 3). A Large Bowl of Beef & Brisket Pho. The bowl was extremely huge in size compared to other Pho locations in town. They broth flavor was average in taste. I'm a sucker for a new pho place and will give anyone a try. I was pleasantly surprised to find this in the strip center where it is located . The restaurant itself is small and the tables feel a little tight. Not uncomfortably so but snug. Decor was pretty standard , pictures of Vietnam on the walls, very strip center in its styling . My typical order is a large Pho with meatballs and to this I added an order of shrimp spring rolls as an appetizer. The waiter was polite and attentive and the food came out quickly. The spring rolls were big ! Easily 50 percent thicker then most other Asian restaurant. They were served with peanut sauce and were good. I ended up only eating one as the pho came out in what only could be described as a gargantuan bowl! No basil on the condiment tray which came with cilantro, jalapeño and limes with bean sprouts . The broth was aromatic , but I felt too spicy. It didn't have that beef undertone I am used to . I don't know if they aren't simmering the broth long enough (I heard some places do this for 12 hours ) and so they try to cover this up with spice instead . The meatballs were flavorful but overall the pho broth was disappointing. Prices were comparable to other pho places in town, but I feel the portions here are bigger. This place is absolutely my favorite Vietnamese Restaurant in town! They have delicious, flavorful food and absolutely a wonderful staff, I am so glad I found this cozy warm place! My fiancé and I often frequent Vietnamese restaurants. We were extremely pleasantly surprised with the chicken sandwich. Had we known how colossal the sandwich was, we wouldn't have ordered separate entrees as well. While we thought the vermicelli (beef and shrimp), and the pho (rare steak and meatballs) were under seasoned and not fantastic, the chicken sandwich most definitely made up for it. I eat here almost once a week and I love it. I only get the spicy noodle pho with chicken and beef. Haven't tried anything else because I like what I like. I'm no pho novice and have only tried 2 other places. Tre bien (hated it) and pho so. One thing about pho bistro that I like is that the flavor is consistent. Worse representation of Vietnamese food ever. Not even sure how they can claim to sell Vietnamese food. Everything is either precooked or poorly cooked. The curry dish consist of rubbery chicken, zucchini, broccoli, and cauliflower in a dark gravy-like sauce with hints of curry powder in it. It's basically a Chinese stir-fry gone wrong! The grilled beef/shrimp with rice is also extremely disappointing. The only one forgiving thing in this particular dish was that the rice was cooked right. The egg-rolls are extremely greasy and accompanied by something claiming to be "Vietnamese fish sauce." The pictures in the menu are not a true representation of what you will actually be served. Basically......diners beware! I will add that the service was prompt however they were not willing to commit to any dishes with either suggestions or opinions. read more

I am visiting from out of town for business and decided to walk here from my hotel. I've had Vietnamese in tiny towns and big cities. This place was, unfortunately, one of the worst that I've had. The food had way too much vinegar and salt in it. I drank 3 glasses of water throughout my meal, which I didn't eat all of, and the sour taste is still there. The waitress was very nice and was working hard to get everyone's needs met, so that is why I gave it 2 stars. Maybe the pho is better (I had chicken and rice) but I will not be coming back to find out. read more
