The rare meats were thin cut, soft, tender. Nice and rare. What amazed me was the broth. It was light. Not too heavy. Didn't feel groggy after eating. Very nice. The noodles were good. TLDR: Go to Pho Duy on Federal instead. -An actual Vietnamese person who can make better Pho than these bros. Premise: I only eat at 2 pho restaurants in all of Denver, and Pho 99 was one of them. I make my own pho, so normally I don't eat it out, but sometimes you don't have 20 hours to cook your own pot. Anyway, I eat there enough that tonight was 2nd time in two days. We got it to go (Bun Bo Hue). The meat normally comes INSIDE the broth. We get home, and no meat in the broth, just the broth. I call and just ask for them to refund the one meal (of 5 we purchased) for the mistake. No big deal, I just didn't want to pay for a meal I didn't receive. I was told no. Seriously. They'd only refund if I drove the 15 mins back to the restaurant to prove to them they made a mistake. Look I'm all about good food and bad service spots, but your food isn't nearly good enough to give a "Give me your number and I'll call you when I have time, since I'm very busy right now, bro." Yeah, me too, bro. Because I have to figure out dinner twice tonight. That really sucks. You guys were 1 of like 5 restaurants I actually loved here in Denver, but I guess I'm done forever. I love my Pho! This place always doesn't disappoint. Lots of selections and combinations of great delicious food. I've been here a dozen times and tried different dishes each time. This time I tried the seafood Pho and it blew my mind! It had crab, oysters, shrimp, and squid. The broth was tasty, the portion of seafood to noodle was perfect. Best pho! We just moved down the road and tried this place 4 months ago and been coming back regularly since. We order to go sometimes and it's still the bomb. Bland broth, inattentive servers, and hard to chew meat. Seriously, I had to spit out some of the pieces. Oh, and not so peanuty peanut sauce. In a state where you may see more Pho places than Starbucks on one street (drive down Federal), 99 is on the bottom of my (pretty long) list of Colorado Pho places. We came to 99 out of convenience, I was working from home and this was the closest one. As someone who has a pretty strong faith in Colorado's Pho, I didn't even yelp it beforehand (gasp, I know). They didn't have my go to order: rare steak on the side, brisket, and tendon. I got the number #8 which I think is their combination. I was intrigued that #8 has fat brisket vs the well done ones in the other choices. Our orders came out fast, I saw the plate with my rare steak, but when I dug into my soup, there was nothing to be found. Maybe I didn't speak clearly. We put down our chopsticks and looked around hoping to get the attention of a waiter. No one looked, we flagged one down. She nonchalantly said, I'll fix it. Not even one sorry. Guess they're efficient. She took both the soup bowl AND rare steak plate, and came back with less rare steak. I bit into a piece of meat (I think it's flank?) chewed a few times and had to spit it out, couldn't swallow it. The brisket had no fat on it. And I got no tendon. Usually I can finish a Small bowl, sometimes I'll even tackle a medium. I love Pho. This, I just packed it. The broth was not flavorful at all. My favorite part of the summer rolls is the peanut sauce, I can eat that thing on its own. Their sauce was way to salty and I didn't get any of the peanut flavor. The saving grace of this place is it's spacious (may be why the servers didn't pay attention to us) and there's plenty of parking. Great pho! They have bun and other dishes as well. Must say kudos to them for the paleo pho. Paleo pho is no noodles but added veggies in its place if you wish to eat healthy. For me it's best pho outside federal Blvd and in South Denver highlands ranch area. They have kids menu too. It's a family run institution in the area. Came here on a Sunday afternoon. Place was decently busy. This restaurant is HUGE with plenty of seating. Great place to bring your family and able to accommodate groups. The menu covers all the traditional dishes you would normally find at any pho restaurant. They also have selected Chinese-American dishes for anyone who isn't in the mood for some excellent pho. You can also get beer, wine, or sake along with your meal. We tried the egg roll appetizer, combination pho, and got a honeydew slush boba drink. If the food wasn't decent I wouldn't have subjected myself to this CRAP service a second time but...hoping they had cleaned up their act or hired servers that actually care, I foolishly decided to give this restaurant a second chance. BIG MISTAKE! As was my experience the first go-around, the servers acted like it was an inconvenience to be there, they were rude, non-attentive and greeted me with "do you know what you want?" without ever offering me a menu. After sitting there for some time (way too long for a pho restaurant) and not having my order taken, I had to go and order at the front register. The man at the register maintained no eye contact, provided no apologies for me having to walk up and order my own food in a sit-down restaurant, and was less than accommodating/friendly. Appetizer was missing its main dipping sauce so I had to request, but the pho seemed fresh and hot. To boot, also on this day, a family having waited an hour for their food made it known that they were unhappy and threatened to leave. Only redeeming quality about this place was one young man (glasses and a red shirt) who seemed to be the only one checking on tables and doing the job of three people while all the other useless servers milled about, failed to bus tables, and one even crashed a dish cart into a table and chairs seemingly upset by the aforementioned customer's complaint. Best pho place in CO after having tried 5 different places. I went two days in a row this past weekend and I plan to go once a week from now on. I love pho #8 which is basically pho dac biet. The broth, noodles, and meat are perfectly portioned. I also enjoy the bun bo hue (spicy lemongrass broth). Be sure to add the lime, extra chili, and shrimp paste if available. The pho here is a solid 4/5, but I had to go with a 3-star review because of the service. Ive been here several times and the staff is on the slow side. Typically takes about 20 minutes before they even take your order and another 30 for food to come out. Not sure why, because the broth is pre-made and you just have to assemble the dish. The restaurant only had three or four tables, so it wasn't due to a rush. Even for take out, I waited about 30 minutes for two sandwiches at 2p on a Tuesday. Good pho, not so good service... I'm guessing if you're eating here, you are waiting in line at the DMV and didn't want to go get barbecue across the street. Or you were just really disgusted at the thought of the Waffle house nearby. So, instead, you picked Pho 99. As far as the food goes here, it's not bad! I've had better Pho in Denver but I've also had worse. The reason for only three stars are as follows: 1. The menu is deceitful - Two pages on the menu hold more traditional American-Chinese foods like fried rice, wok dishes, and rice platters. Additionally, the lunch specials are shown here. Unfortunately, I went on a Wednesday and, apparently, Wednesday is the only day of the week they don't serve these dishes or the lunch specials. My burning question is simply, why? What about Wednesday afternoons make these dishes impossible to serve? I'm honestly curious. If it's for a legitimate reason, please, inform me. But my impression is it's to cut costs and cut corners. This sadly limits you to Pho and a few other traditional dishes. I was disappointed to say the least, I love a little fried rice with Pho. So if you're going on Wednesday, be warned. 2. Service - Had a hard time getting service. Took almost 25 mins for someone to take my order and I had to wait to get my check as well. Sounds like i'm complaining, but no one was in this restaurant besides me, two other tables, and the servers. Granted the Olympics were on, and God forbid anyone miss Micheal Phelps swimming. Overall, a good place to come get some grub quick if you're in the area and in the mood for Pho. So, I've been to this location and their others more times than I can remember. Compared to other Pho places, each one has their strengths weaknesses. This review is for the Pho. When I order it, I got to have the tendon and tripe too. The best part is the price and size of the Pho. There are several other places close by, but they offer 3 sizes, and their medium is pretty damn big. The broth is excellent, the noodles aren't overcooked, comes with dandelion in addition to the jalapeno, lime, basil and bean sprouts. The tendon still has some chew without falling apart and the tripe still has a bit of crunch without being too chewy. I am down in the Centennial/Littleton area quite a bit... and I am SO glad that some pho places have migrated down to the south metro area. This spot has good broth and a great dinner deal ($8 for a medium bowl of pho plus a summer roll). I can never finish it all, but I always order the combo. I've yet to try the rice plates, but they also look delicious. Hopefully I can try lunch here soon so I can also treat myself to a vietnamese coffee. If this place were up near Federal and Alameda, it'd probably have been a 3 star review. But for location and service, add another star! read more

What are you people talking about? Pho79 has what is easily one of the top 3 bowls in the city, I would argue top 2...but that is splitting hairs. The restaurant is nice, all the tables are level etc...and they server what might be the best bowl in town... What more do you people want from a Pho shop? Yummy, yummy, YUMMY! I love the location of Pho 79 - right on County Line Rd. and close to my office! The space is new and very nice inside; staff is very friendly and you can tell they are excited that they have opened their doors. Nice variety on the menu of tasty Vietnamese - and PHO. Yummy delicious PHO. I had a medium bowl of #16, which is pho with chicken and a Thai iced tea. Just yummy. This is my favorite Pho place. I've been to two others in metro Denver area and the other in SE Aurora, and I can't even stomach what they serve after having had the quality grade Pho that is served at the County Line location. The vegetarian summer rolls are great too. I'm a carnivore at heart, but when you can get me to eat Tofu wrapped in veggies & clear wrap as a complete entree it had BETTER be good, and I have never been disappointed. It's not listed as an option on the menu, but ask for a Coffee Boba. They use the real vietnamese coffee in their Boba drink (other locations do not, they use stale, old Maxwell coffee house coffee, BLECH). You can most certainly taste the difference. On colder days, go all in on a vietnamese coffee. You will be scaling the walls instead of napping under your cube in the afternoon. Good stuff. Mocha cake, YUM YUM & YUM. Share with your meal partner. It's a must! Very moist, very modest portions. Tastes like Tiramisu if you ask me. The coconut water. Big hearty shavings of coconut served within, lightly sweet. Very refreshing on a hot summer's day. Another must try! Love that they have all those asian treats and trinkets for sale at the counter. I have kids of varying ages that love when I bring them home some YanYan or other treats; even around the holidays I loved that I could go in and get something unique like a bamboo plant, hello kitty toy or something of that nature as a surprise gift for my girls. All items are reasonably priced. The staff, all of them are very complimentary and friendly. Each waiter comes with their own personality and I enjoy them all. If you are a frequenter you will start to feel like family in a few short weeks. Service is always prompt and accurate. And yes, you can just walk up to the counter to pay when you're ready. Always a five star experience. This place is on point with their pho, and I can happily say I'm a regular here. My boyfriend and I came here repeatedly on a weekly basis for months. Love love love! Wish I didn't move further away. I enjoy their happy hour specials , Corona and pho go well together, although this is the only time I will drink a Corona. When we first started coming here they seemed fairly new and working out the kinks. I remember experiencing sub par service, but since then the service has improved drastically.
