In search of a new pho restaurant to try, my boyfriend and I decided to check this place out. We both had the #P8: Pho Tai (rare beef) which were accompanied with your usual garnishes: cilantro, bean sprouts, Thai basil, and lime wedges. Broth was a bit weaker in comparison to Pho Saigon's, but I already like this place much more because it appeared cleaner and the employees are more attentive and friendlier here. Good pho but they raised the price to $14.50 per bowl. Going to Pho Saigon from now on since they cheaper and just as good and you get your food waaaaay faster. Also $5 for two egg rolls. We ordered large Pho (combo), hu tiu Nam Vang and one milk tea with boba. Pho was serv, cilantro, wedge of lime and a stem of thai basil. Plenty of noodles, good amount of meat. They also have add on side like broth with egg yolk or meat balls (just like Pho place in Vietnam) Hu tiu Nam Vang is way tooooo sweet. No quail egg and pork liver. The rice noodles are thicker than I prefer (it's maybe hu tiu bot loc). Boba tea, the tea is good but the boba is overcooked, soft and not chewy. read more

I finally came here after reviewing it for the first time before it opened. I was super excited about this new Vietnamese restaurant since every Vietnamese restaurant makes their food differently. They offer two sizes of pho: small and large. My husband and I shared a large size pho which was perfect for two people. The broth is good and they give you a decent amount of noodles, meat and veggies. We also ordered their spring rolls and egg rolls. My husband personally like Pho Saigon's egg rolls better but I did not notice a difference between them. The spring rolls were fatter than Pho Saigon but I HATED their peanut sauce that accompanied the spring roll. The sauce was very fishy tasting. I also ordered the Vietnamese iced coffee and it was good. The total of our meal cost us less than $25 including tip. The picture of the advertisement that I posted stated they give 10% military discount but they did NOT honor it. The cashier said that their grand opening special of a free drink voided the military discount. My husband and I did not take advantage of their free drink special and still were not granted a discount. I think it's false advertisement to advertise a special/discount that doesn't exist. I personally would continue going to Pho Saigon. My husband and I actually went to Pho Saigon a week later after coming here and we spend less and enjoyed the food more than here. read more

I've been in this place numerous times, but the management and owner has changed. The Pho soup is usually what I order and fried calamari. The broth in the pho was good, but for me the noodles was a little too much... The fried calamari tasted a little burnt and dry. The server never returned to the table and checked our drinks if we needed any refill or just ask if we are okay and needed anything else. They need to work on that. I haven't eaten there nor will I ever. We have a mentally challenged son who applied for the posted job of the dishwasher. They told him to come on in. He has experience and all but when my husband told them that he is mentally challenged my husband, who was present, said the man got this scared look on his face and said he had to speak to the manager, who happens to be his wife I guess. Well, she said that "Americans do things differently" and she wasn't interested in having him work there after all. My husband asked her to give him a chance, she said okay and took him in the back. Well, not much later my husband gets a call. Seems that someone was looking for an excuse not to hire a mentally challenged person. They said he didn't do it right because scraped the dishes down before rinsing and putting them in the dishwasher. Really? I always thought you scraped debris off first, then rinsed then put them in the washer. And here they're saying not to do it that way, rather, rinse them off and then put them in the dishwasher. So maybe that's the flavor everyone is tasting when they eat there, the leftover debris that wasn't scraped off first. It does answer the cockroach in the teapot mystery someone else reported. At any rate, if I could have rated this place lower I would have. But it seems way too convenient that before they knew of his handicap they were willing to hire. Suddenly, it all changed. California is packed with Pho places but unfortunately theyve taken the short route and passed on from making the broth from scratch. My husband and I tried this place for the first time on Friday and we weren't too impressed. I ordered the Thai tea and was expecting it with the milk but it wasn't like that all. So I was kind of disappointed there. Had to order a sprite because I didn't like the taste of the tea. We ordered the shrimp spring rolls and those were delicious and the peanut sauce was just as delicious We ordered two small seafood pho's. The price and sizes were decent. The broth was sweet and the noodles were good. It has imitation crab which I don't care for. The shrimp was okay and the squid was really rubbery and hard to chew. Overall good price for what we got, underneath our booth could've been cleaned better before we were seated. But overall not a horrible place. The customer service was really good. New favorite Pho place in the Killeen area! I had the rare beef, flank and tendon Pho with an order of the egg rolls. I can honestly say that everything was perfect. Service was quick, friendly and attentive. I loved everything about the food. It was all served at the right temperature, tasted great and everything was fresh and vibrant. We had everything we needed there at the table for our party. I would have preferred the rare beef to have been a little more rare but still no complaints here. Was here a few days ago and just now reviewing What a great little place, my server was lovely. There were a handful of people dining there that were rude, demanding and completely out of line with both of the young women working there. My food was delicious and the young woman who helped me, her name started with a P, was a delight. I was very sad how some of the other guests were treating the staff, the were very busy and providing all they could. If any of those jerks leave bad reviews is about them having entitled attitudes, not the service. Spoiled selfish inconsiderate customers are the worst to hard working staff. One guy was talking about not leaving a tip to the people he was with and that guy was a real jerk the entire time. The broth on this pho is flavorful and wholesome. It is hands down the best pho in Killeen and within the vicinity to be quite frank. The price for a bowl of pho is a little pricy compared to other pho places in TX. First time, I arrived on Thursday last week, I sat in and waited for a long time, about 15 minutes, then I was able to take the order, while I took the order, there were 2 tables behind me, new customers came in, after I finished to take the order, and then their turn. Fundamentals. Customer Service. When I call and I ask what your hours of operation today are... you don't answer that they are the same as every day. You answer what the hours are. Period. (The main reason I am calling, is because it seems your competitor is closed or we're retarded and couldn't find it... I'm just calling to make sure you are open and don't want to hang up on you so try not to be rude as well. How about that?) This is a really nice building on a street full of crappy looking buildings. That's nice. Also, there were lots of Asian soldiers dining inside. I had a glimmer of hope when I saw that. But I guess it's slim pickins. They were running some sort of special that noted a free drink (iced tea or a can of pop) with your entree. Most of the entrees run about $7 for a small or $8 for a large bowl of pho or something similar. Two spring rolls ran about $3.25. Prices seemed a bit steep for this genre of food. The bo luc lac (shaking beef) that I ordered was $12 (um very steep). I sipped a bit of the broth and there really wasn't any depth to it. The shaking beef came with a dollup of butter on it. WHAT? This isn't steak night at a bar. Where's the chopped lime that I can mix with herbs to dunk my beef with? And why does the beef taste like the cow died a slow death? It was awful. Bo luc lac should be moist, tender and make me smile rainbows and sunshine... not want to scream obscenities. It's great that you're going to offer the 10% military discount but don't think we'll be back to have it honored again. Get it together. Killeen needs some decent restaurants and you have the potential to be one with the right cook and staff. read more

What can I say about this place. It was the place to go, but now... The last two times I have been here the service is not what it used to be. It seems like the owner got rid of all of his help and rose the price of a bowl of Pho by a $1.50 and took away the amount of food he put in the bowls. It was a last minute decision to go to Pho 9 with my boyfriend, since the other Pho place in Harker Heights was under renovation. The one star is for the Combination Pho. First off, the broth was sweet and it didn't taste right. Like usually pho broths are rich in beef flavors and onions because it's cooked for a really long time. Secondly, as a person who doesn't like wasting food I started to eat it anyways (mostly cause I was hungry and didn't want to wait for another dish), but after a few bites I really couldn't take the broth or the noodles anymore so I just picked at the meat. Not even 10 minutes in, I had to go to the bathroom. I was having mild heat sweats and really felt like throwing up. I finally forced myself to throw up ALL the noodles I ate and felt sick to the stomach leaving the place. I didn't get better until I threw up more after taking tums when I got home. The sad part was, no one came by to ask how we were doing after we had gotten the food. I am happy to have two different, great choices fo' the pho in Killeen. :) Only thing I am not a big fan of is the bun here....noodles seem to be different and cooked differently. Given the wrong food (it was denied despite the menu pics as proof), never got my soda, didn't get the extra meat we requested and paid for, overcharged by $5.00, and never received the itemized receipt despite asking (and being told I would). Let's just say we paid to get it over with and never return. Also, the man acting like he runs the place (maybe the owner?) had a horrible attitude and it showed in EVERYTHING he did. He was very rude to his staff in front of everyone (talked down, cursed), unprofessionally and loudly argued with a customer and then unnecessarily talked very poorly about her to other staff in front of other customers, and repeatedly cursed and yelled on the phone -- all while trying to run the restaurant. His overall demeanor made it clear I wouldn't be getting anywhere if I tried to address anything else. Such a disappointing experience.
