In search of a new pho restaurant to try, my boyfriend and I decided to check this place out. We both had the #P8: Pho Tai (rare beef) which were accompanied with your usual garnishes: cilantro, bean sprouts, Thai basil, and lime wedges. Broth was a bit weaker in comparison to Pho Saigon's, but I already like this place much more because it appeared cleaner and the employees are more attentive and friendlier here. So, extra star from me. I'm a HUGE bubble tea lover and noticed that Pho 9 has an extensive drink menu - maybe even more so than Chau's Cafe. And, this is the only place that I know of that offers flan/pudding add-ins in addition to tapicoa and jelly! But, my dreams were quickly squashed by one of the employees telling me that their drink maker wasn't available :( I will definitely have to come back again another day to try out their bubble teas. * 10% off Yelp check-in offer * Phò sizes: Small $7.50 Large $8.00 read more

Being from outta state, this place is OKAY. Not the best pho I've had but if you're craving it & nowhere else is open, then I guess you can come here. Food is okay. Service is okay. Chandler was helpful. Overpriced for what it's worth in my opinion. Thai tea was NOT the best. More milky than anything. They ran out of chicken after an hour of opening & no one was really here. Place is modern with a nice A/C breeze. There was a wait even though we were 1 of 2 groups here (1 group had 5 people & my group was 5 as well). Idk if I'd come back but I'll try another spot. read more

I've ate here a few times the food is okay not bad but today was my last time. While sitting with my family I watched a roach run across my table I'm not one to complain and make a scene so I kept it to myself. My real problem with this place is that it's overpriced two meals you pay almost fifty dollars and then they expect you to leave a tip.. Also menu prices don't match what you pay read more

I don't mind paying $20 for 2 fried spring rolls and 12 bbq shrimp on a stick but I do mind that the spring roll is small and wrinkled and the shrimp is overcooked and dry. The environment was pleasant and clean and the service was quick. I will not be ordering here again. read more

I didn't know i haven't written a review for this place cuz i go here atleast twice a week. I just love their pho. If it's not their pho, we grab some of their rice and fish! Just amazing. Hands down my favorite place around in killeen. Don't forget to have their milk tea with boba! read more

Definitely some of the best Pho I've had. The broth was so flavorful and the portion was huge. My husband had the curry beef and rice and devoured his plate in no time. We will be coming back here again for sure! read more

6/23/18 approximately 1:10pm Ordered 2 lrg Pho's and eggrolls The meat is not great at all and the portion for a lrg seems like a small in a lrg bowl, definitely not worth $10.50 or $4.00 for 2 tiny egg rolls. This place is too pricey for what they serve and the quality, definitely not coming back. Should've returned to Chau's instead, lesson learned. read more

I finally came here after reviewing it for the first time before it opened. I was super excited about this new Vietnamese restaurant since every Vietnamese restaurant makes their food differently. They offer two sizes of pho: small and large. My husband and I shared a large size pho which was perfect for two people. The broth is good and they give you a decent amount of noodles, meat and veggies. We also ordered their spring rolls and egg rolls. My husband personally like Pho Saigon's egg rolls better but I did not notice a difference between them. The spring rolls were fatter than Pho Saigon but I HATED their peanut sauce that accompanied the spring roll. The sauce was very fishy tasting. I also ordered the Vietnamese iced coffee and it was good. The total of our meal cost us less than $25 including tip. The picture of the advertisement that I posted stated they give 10% military discount but they did NOT honor it. The cashier said that their grand opening special of a free drink voided the military discount. My husband and I did not take advantage of their free drink special and still were not granted a discount. I think it's false advertisement to advertise a special/discount that doesn't exist. I personally would continue going to Pho Saigon. My husband and I actually went to Pho Saigon a week later after coming here and we spend less and enjoyed the food more than here. read more

3.5/5 I came here for the first time but didn't expect much. The food is okay, not too good but not bad either. The portion is huge. We ordered large Pho (combo), hu tiu Nam Vang and one milk tea with boba. Pho was serv, cilantro, wedge of lime and a stem of thai basil. Plenty of noodles, good amount of meat. They also have add on side like broth with egg yolk or meat balls (just like Pho place in Vietnam) Hu tiu Nam Vang is way tooooo sweet. No quail egg and pork liver. The rice noodles are thicker than I prefer (it's maybe hu tiu bot loc). Boba tea, the tea is good but the boba is overcooked, soft and not chewy. read more

I've been in this place numerous times, but the management and owner has changed. The Pho soup is usually what I order and fried calamari. The broth in the pho was good, but for me the noodles was a little too much... The fried calamari tasted a little burnt and dry. The server never returned to the table and checked our drinks if we needed any refill or just ask if we are okay and needed anything else. They need to work on that. The place was lean and well decorated, but they could have turn up the air conditioner because it was pretty warm in there, especially when you are having soup, which is the signature dish there. read more

Service wasn't all that great but they were still nice. I got a vermecille dish with grilled meat and egg roll! Also for a spring roll. Both dishes were delicious. Food is great. They serve pretty fast. But that short vietnamese guy behind counter looks/sounds mean. I dunno it is just becuz they were busy or just his attitude. But anyway, food is good so i can care less about that tho. Update about boba tea: ive got red bean, green tea, tarot tea with boba they made all of them pretty good. I wish they could put more red bean paste but its still ok. read more

Good pho but they raised the price to $14.50 per bowl. Going to Pho Saigon from now on since they cheaper and just as good and you get your food waaaaay faster. Also $5 for two egg rolls. At Saigon they give you four for around the same price. They getting greedy so I'm gonna pass on this spot. read more

Service wasn't great but the food was delicious! We started with the pork summer rolls and peanut dipping sauce. The rolls were delicious, even my one year old loved them! I ordered the tofu and vegetable pho, which was just as great as our appetizer. Vegetables were so flavorful and the broth was savory and filling. Unlike many places there were plenty of noodles in our soup. Great choice for a hearty meal that won't weigh you down! read more

I haven't eaten there nor will I ever. We have a mentally challenged son who applied for the posted job of the dishwasher. They told him to come on in. He has experience and all but when my husband told them that he is mentally challenged my husband, who was present, said the man got this scared look on his face and said he had to speak to the manager, who happens to be his wife I guess. Well, she said that "Americans do things differently" and she wasn't interested in having him work there after all. My husband asked her to give him a chance, she said okay and took him in the back. Well, not much later my husband gets a call. Seems that someone was looking for an excuse not to hire a mentally challenged person. They said he didn't do it right because scraped the dishes down before rinsing and putting them in the dishwasher. Really? I always thought you scraped debris off first, then rinsed then put them in the washer. And here they're saying not to do it that way, rather, rinse them off and then put them in the dishwasher. So maybe that's the flavor everyone is tasting when they eat there, the leftover debris that wasn't scraped off first. It does answer the cockroach in the teapot mystery someone else reported. At any rate, if I could have rated this place lower I would have. But it seems way too convenient that before they knew of his handicap they were willing to hire. Suddenly, it all changed. And one more thing: if they don't want to hire Americans they need to exit back to wherever they came from. read more

My husband and I tried this place for the first time on Friday and we weren't too impressed. I ordered the Thai tea and was expecting it with the milk but it wasn't like that all. So I was kind of disappointed there. Had to order a sprite because I didn't like the taste of the tea. We ordered the shrimp spring rolls and those were delicious and the peanut sauce was just as delicious We ordered two small seafood pho's. The price and sizes were decent. The broth was sweet and the noodles were good. It has imitation crab which I don't care for. The shrimp was okay and the squid was really rubbery and hard to chew. Overall good price for what we got, underneath our booth could've been cleaned better before we were seated. But overall not a horrible place. The customer service was really good. The waiter was very prompt with bringing us whatever we had asked for. read more

New favorite Pho place in the Killeen area! I had the rare beef, flank and tendon Pho with an order of the egg rolls. I can honestly say that everything was perfect. Service was quick, friendly and attentive. I loved everything about the food. It was all served at the right temperature, tasted great and everything was fresh and vibrant. We had everything we needed there at the table for our party. I would have preferred the rare beef to have been a little more rare but still no complaints here. I will definitely be back often to come try more of this menu. Amazing!! read more

Had the brisket pho and beef fried rice. They were soooo good! I have been looking for this rice since moving here. It reminds me of the one back home. We just found our spot! The food is really good. It's fresh and they give you plenty! Maybe too much. The customer service is not great. The servers are not there to make you smile and have a pleasant dining experienced. Was here a few days ago and just now reviewing What a great little place, my server was lovely. There were a handful of people dining there that were rude, demanding and completely out of line with both of the young women working there. My food was delicious and the young woman who helped me, her name started with a P, was a delight. I was very sad how some of the other guests were treating the staff, the were very busy and providing all they could. If any of those jerks leave bad reviews is about them having entitled attitudes, not the service. Spoiled selfish inconsiderate customers are the worst to hard working staff. One guy was talking about not leaving a tip to the people he was with and that guy was a real jerk the entire time. I listened to him and his dining companion be so inconsiderate despite good service. What a shame how people act read more

What can I say that hasnt been said already? great broth, visiting from California I have to say its ranks up there in taste. Some of the food is good but the name of the place is Pho9! I had the Pho and about three other dishes. The Pho was extremely bland! So I asked the owner if he could take it off the check because we barely touched it. He said no If you don't like it you have to pay next time go somewhere else! Fundamentals. Customer Service. When I call and I ask what your hours of operation today are... you don't answer that they are the same as every day. You answer what the hours are. Period. (The main reason I am calling, is because it seems your competitor is closed or we're retarded and couldn't find it... I'm just calling to make sure you are open and don't want to hang up on you so try not to be rude as well. How about that?) This is a really nice building on a street full of crappy looking buildings. That's nice. Also, there were lots of Asian soldiers dining inside. I had a glimmer of hope when I saw that. But I guess it's slim pickins. They were running some sort of special that noted a free drink (iced tea or a can of pop) with your entree. Most of the entrees run about $7 for a small or $8 for a large bowl of pho or something similar. Two spring rolls ran about $3.25. Prices seemed a bit steep for this genre of food. The bo luc lac (shaking beef) that I ordered was $12 (um very steep). I sipped a bit of the broth and there really wasn't any depth to it. The shaking beef came with a dollup of butter on it. WHAT? This isn't steak night at a bar. Where's the chopped lime that I can mix with herbs to dunk my beef with? And why does the beef taste like the cow died a slow death? It was awful. Bo luc lac should be moist, tender and make me smile rainbows and sunshine... not want to scream obscenities. It's great that you're going to offer the 10% military discount but don't think we'll be back to have it honored again. Get it together. Killeen needs some decent restaurants and you have the potential to be one with the right cook and staff. read more

It was a last minute decision to go to Pho 9 with my boyfriend, since the other Pho place in Harker Heights was under renovation. The one star is for the Combination Pho. First off, the broth was sweet and it didn't taste right. Like usually pho broths are rich in beef flavors and onions because it's cooked for a really long time. Secondly, as a person who doesn't like wasting food I started to eat it anyways (mostly cause I was hungry and didn't want to wait for another dish), but after a few bites I really couldn't take the broth or the noodles anymore so I just picked at the meat. Not even 10 minutes in, I had to go to the bathroom. I was having mild heat sweats and really felt like throwing up. I finally forced myself to throw up ALL the noodles I ate and felt sick to the stomach leaving the place. I didn't get better until I threw up more after taking tums when I got home. The sad part was, no one came by to ask how we were doing after we had gotten the food. I can't say anything else there is bad or good, But I just don't think that pho I had was freshly prepared and it scarred me from going there ever again. read more

So this isn't my first review for a Vietnamese restaurant and I am sure it won't be my last! One glaring negative right off the bat - wash that damn rag you wipe the tables down with!!! It smells like a wet sock that has been fermenting in a bucket of mildew. Not something you wanna smell while you eat! Also, I am not a fan of reuseable chopsticks...even the plastic ones. Spring for disposable wooden chopsticks please....I don't want to wonder how clean the chopsticks are while I try to eat my pho! Anyhow. I eat a lot of Vietnamese food; like every week "a lot". I like having bun for lunch and pho for dinner. I am a regular at the other place in Killeen but figured I would try this new place out and.........it is pretty good too. I like this location simply because it is closer than the other one. Similar menus for the most part and the pho is just as good! I am happy to have two different, great choices fo' the pho in Killeen. :) Only thing I am not a big fan of is the bun here....noodles seem to be different and cooked differently. I prefer the bun noodles to be dry and the noodles here were "wet" and seemed to be different. Oh well. Other than that, if you are a pho-aholic like myself, you will like this joint too! :) ***Minus two stars for the mildew bucket sock and "reuseable" wooden chopsticks. The pho itself - four stars!*** read more

Been a regular at this restaurant for a while now. Just walked in yesterday for the last time. They changed cooks and the old cooks took the flavor with them. The fresh pho and spring rolls that I enjoyed so many times have turned to basic, very oily and weak mediocre flavors. Bye Pho9 read more

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE all the way around!!! 0 stars if I could! Given the wrong food (it was denied despite the menu pics as proof), never got my soda, didn't get the extra meat we requested and paid for, overcharged by $5.00, and never received the itemized receipt despite asking (and being told I would). Let's just say we paid to get it over with and never return. Also, the man acting like he runs the place (maybe the owner?) had a horrible attitude and it showed in EVERYTHING he did. He was very rude to his staff in front of everyone (talked down, cursed), unprofessionally and loudly argued with a customer and then unnecessarily talked very poorly about her to other staff in front of other customers, and repeatedly cursed and yelled on the phone -- all while trying to run the restaurant. His overall demeanor made it clear I wouldn't be getting anywhere if I tried to address anything else. Such a disappointing experience. If the food was decent and we got exactly what we ordered, maybe we'd consider going back. read more

The broth on this pho is flavorful and wholesome. It is hands down the best pho in Killeen and within the vicinity to be quite frank. The price for a bowl of pho is a little pricy compared to other pho places in TX. This could be due to the recent state of the economy but once you taste that broth you will not regret paying for it over and over again. read more

I was told before we entered this place that it's good but the service was slow. The dining area is quant nothing fancy. During the visit the place was pretty fool and it appeared there was only one waiter. It took a while to get our drinks and even longer to get out soup brought out but it was tasty. I ordered a small beef/flank Pho The small is actually LARGE so if you are there for the first time consider that aspect. I usually am able to finish a small and I barely finished half of it. We were given an individual plate of veggies which is different many places forces you to share. On the way out there were four unoccupied tables filled with dirty dishes from previous customers solidifying they must be short staff at the time.
