Great! The dining room probably fits 50 people indoors. Located at a busy strip mall, plenty of parking. Decor is bland 90's, with some motivational and folksy art on the walls. Crowd is a mix of neighborhood families and kids from FIU. Service is correct, waiters are all very young. The menu includes a wide variety of pho variations, other noodle dishes, and combination plates. Great spring and summer rolls as well. No bahn mi, though. Took me 2 years to come here. Don't be me and take that long! Short review: Great authentic food. Very affordable.  Portions are very generous.  Large pho with tons of beef was so big that I couldn't finish it and I never waste good food (at least take it home). Service and food is fast. Place was full within 40 minutes of us arriving at 7 pm. There is a large amount of seating as well. Plenty of parking. To sum it up, it's clear why this place is so popular.  More details: First the food. Ordered a Thai ice tea without  boba. It was lightly sweet. I actually quite welcome that since most Thai iced teas I've had are quite sweet. For appetizer,  ordered the pork and shrimp spring roll..the wrapper was soft and well packed with meat, noodles and herbs. The peanut sauce was thick and tasty too. As for pho #32, the broth was light and not salty at all. I'd say it was very legit. Wow! We had dinner at Pho 79 and I'm pretty sure my wife loved it! I was not expecting that. She's usually not that excited when she leaves a restaurant unless the food and service areamazing. Well peeps I guess Pho 79 was and I loved it too. This is a casual small restaurant big enough for 50 people at most. The servers were very friendly, patient and took the time to explain all the different varieties of soups and entree's available and how to even eat it! Let me tell you about the menu. It's very easy to read and understand. Everything from the appetizers to the last soup on the menu are numbered. The prices are very affordable and the soups come in 3 different sizes. Small, medium and large. Be ready to eat because they're all big but the best thing about it is they're made fresh and they also have a vegan option. We also tried a dish with noodles and we forgot what number it was because it was so good! (Picture below). I selected soup #34 (medium size) which had a little of everything. It had fresh rice noodles, greens, sausage, steak . All soups come with a side of extra greens - lime, jalapeño, cilantro and basil . I'm a regular at this place and I'm surprised I haven't submitted a review yet. The service is extremely fast. I'm usually in and out within 30-40 minutes so it's great for lunch. The restaurant has plenty of sitting and gets pretty packed for lunch. The place is pretty clean and the waiters and waitresses have been trained well. read more

The place is actually bright, clean, and actually quite big - lots of tables, unlike other hole in the walls. I ordered a to-go order and the lady in the front recommended the Pho #30. Recently checked this place out with a friend and i'm not going to lie I was skeptical. A few weeks back a friend of mine tried Pho from a different location and she said it was an acquired taste, this made me nervous, it made me question if I would be like Pho. So I decided to head to Pho 79 and give their Vegetarian Pho a try, btw i'm plant based which makes it extra special to find veggie options wherever I go. The veggie Pho was delicious, the flavor was perfect and felt so fresh and comforting. I got a small and my biggest regret now is not having got a medium because I could have just kept on eating haha. If your hesitant to give this a try, don't! And if you're a vegetarian like me, get the vegetarian Pho, it has tofu and plenty of delicious veggies. AND THE BROTH IS TO DIE 4! loved this place! ps. Miami Cold nights are very rare, but when they do arrive we take full advantage of them. Right across street from FIU we found this hidden gem Pho 79 Miami. It's a perfect time to head over and have a large bowl of Pho. We had the house Com Dac Biet and the Bun Thit Nuong cha Gio. Both delicious . It was our first time eating Vietnamese food. The waitress was so patient with us (since we asked a lot of questions) she explained each dish. Over all we are happy that we found this place so close to home....... I have been going to this spot for a few years, and they are really good. But today my wife and I went and were very disappointed with the food. The take is still good. It was just not as good as it was. The Pho had way let meat in it and even the vegetables they bring to put in the Pho were way less than what they used to bring. The spring roller had this little shrimp and a lot of rice pasta it was a mouth full with no flavor. They also got the short ribs, and it was undercooked and just wasn't the same. When I spoke with the girl in the cashier, I asked if they changed the cook, and she said no its the same one. One of the waiter and American young men said I'm sorry to hear you didn't like they food. I said yes, I'm disappointed, and he said well I could tell the cooks, but I don't speak Vietnamese sooo. I had the pho thai, it was great, authentic pho. My girlfriend had the chicken, the broth and chicken were under seasoned and the chicken was dry. She still like the pho but it had room for improvement. DDisappointed that we couldn't get anything other then peanut sauce for the spring rolls so we did not order them, they did look good tho. So I am on this ramen kick and I am on the hunt to find the best in Miami! This is the second place that I've tried (I just started....it's only been a week) and of the two, this is best so far. As I am learning it is standard for the ramen to come separate whether it is take out or dine in. At least at this restaurant. Which I love because if I don't eat it all, at least my ramen isn't destroyed from sitting in the broth all day. I got it as take out as I only had a few minutes to spare for lunch. And luckily it's close so it was a quick run. So at first I was a little skeptical because they give you raw meat depending on what you order. I ordered the #30 which was raw beef, beef brisket and beef flank. But it was then explained to me that it cooks in the broth when you mix it because it's so thin and the broth is so hot! How cool is that?! And it actually did. I'm glad my coworker explained it to me because just from reading the menu you wouldn't gather that. At least I didn't. You order the noodles in small, medium and large. I myself got medium because I'm a fat azz and I like to eat! Plus I figured it would great to think ahead for dinner. It came with lime (my fav) and a hot sauce (which was delicious). All of this together was absolutely delicious. I am going to try not to eat everyday! One thing that stands out about this place from the other place that I tried, is that there is no trace of sweetness. To me boodles shouldn't be sweet and PHO hit this right on the head! After so many years, I finally tried Pho! This hidden gem is the perfect place to try your first Pho. It is located in the shopping plaza right in front of the FIU MMC campus. There is many parking spots available. I went on a weekday afternoon for lunch with 2 family members and it was the best. We were greeted and sat by a host. The Pho soups that we were recommended came in 3 sizes - small, medium, or large. You can order it with protein of chicken, shrimp, pork, beef or you can have it vegetarian. You can make them as spicy as you want with their sauces. We also ordered passion fruit and mango bubble tea drinks which were delicious. I am for sure going back to have more Pho or try a new dish. The vermicelli was pretty good. The fish sauce gave the dish such a deep and complex flavor and the egg roll was super crispy and fresh. The fresh mint leaves and bean sprouts are so refreshing in contrast with the fried eggroll & pork. The meat was overcooked and chewy, but still had a good flavor. Happiness truly is a warm bowl. Honestly. My $10 shirt from this restaurant says so. I've waited for years for a quality pho place to make it's way closer to me, as I spend a fair amount of time in Doral. Bye-bye Miss Saigon and your disappointing broth! Green Papaya, Pho Thang, Basilic, no love lost for you all, but you're just...so far from me. Pho 79 truly brings the Broward love down to Miami with delicious broths, chewy noodles, and friendly service. Seriously, the staff are the most attentive folks I've noticed in a long while here. Our waters were kept filled, extra limes were brought out without delay, and our dishes came out before my SO even returned from the bathroom to wash his hands! THIS is what a true no-frills pho restaurant means to me. It definitely helps that the tables are cleared quickly, and the decor makes the place serene. Prices are fair ($8.75 for a small, and up to $11ish for a large) for the amount of food your receive, and the produce (thai basil, sprouts, jalapenos) is all impeccable fresh. Sauces (and sauce dishes!) are kept clean and filled at each and every table, so there's no need to hunt down your Sriracha when you need a refill. I've personally had the #17 (bun bo hue, which is better still at other places, but I was happy enough with it here) and the #29 (pho with flank and meatballs, it's everything you wanted in a bowl) - I highly recommend this place for your vietnamese cravings. For me, the type of person to whom the broth will make or break her mood, I was extremely happy to see you can order a side of broth! Pho on a blazing hot day during mid-day?! Sure! I had been wanting to try this restaurant when I found out about it on Yelp few weeks ago and it's so close to work! I remembered going to the Pho 79/78 in Pembroke Pines and loved the food there. I was just at this restaurant an hour ago. The restaurant was REALLY easy to find because their sign is gigantic and in red. It's literally between New Wave and Publix. Parking was easy to find. Once I entered, the employees all greeted me from their counter. They asked me how many, I said 1, and they instructed me to sit at #3 table, which was by the window. A nice lady brought the menu and cup of water right away. She was very friendly and complimented me on my eyes lol. Few minutes later after studying the menu, another server came by and I ordered the #1 Pho in Small and Shrimp Spring Rolls. Within just minutes, the food was ready. I was shocked. They were fast like Flash, which is great, because this is good for people who are on their lunch breaks and are in a time crunch. They gave me massive amount of bean sprouts and mints/basils (?). Even the size Small of the Pho was huge! I was shocked. I definitely had to take half of the Pho to go. I ate both Shrimp Spring Rolls and they tasted amazing with the peanut sauce. The wrap was kind of dry though. When I asked a server for containers, he came back with a gigantic styrofoam cup. I asked if they had smaller containers so that I could separate the broth and the noodles, but he said no. He then brought a rectangular styrofoam container like ones for hotdogs. So I ended up putting the little bit of broth in the gigantic cup, and the noodles with the bean sprouts in the rectangular container. Hopefully they get more smaller containers in the future for people with lesser amount of leftovers. For the bill, they bring it to you at the table and then you write the tip that you want, and then pay at the counter. They accept Apple Pay, which is not advertised on their door. If you have the Chase Freedom credit card, one of the categories for this quarter's 5% cash back is Apple Pay. So, not only did I have a great lunch, I also got to earn extra points using Apple Pay. A couple of years back, when we visited the Pho 79 in Davie (next to Foodtown), the owner told us that they will be expanding that location, as well as adding one in Miami. We took that as great news, as we most certainly can use a good pho place in Miami, but also with a grain of salt as most of these restauranteur dreams do not pan out. Therefore, we are pleasantly surprised when Pho 79 makes good on its promise. They certainly know about location, location, location, as they opened one in Sunrise near NY Mart, and this one in Miami across from FIU. This place is busy day and night, even when nearing closing time. Quite an extensive menu with many pho choices, service is quick and courteous. I'd say stay with the pho. One time we had the Korean short ribs rice plate, and it was a disaster. The ribs are chewy, and the rice - likely the worst I've had at a restaurant. I was so nervous because the waiter and waitress didn't speak Vietnamese. I was so relieved when I heard the cook talking in Vietnamese! My daughter would only eat Eat Bun Bo Hue which is a spicy beef noodle soup and she said it is amazing! We are visiting from Houston and we have our share of Vietnamese food there. Miami has had a few Vietnamese food options for a long while, most of them were either average, not very authentic, or focused on higher end clientele with higher end prices. Pho 79 FTW. Pho is a uniquely Vietnamese dish, finding its roots in Chinese noodles, French beef, and Vietnamese creativity and ingenuity. Looking for a taste of home, I often come here to get a sip of delicious broth, along with the thinly cut beef cuts, all with the classic fixin's of lime, jalapeno, basil, mint, followed up with a splash of Hoisin and a heavy dosage of Sriracha. Walk into Pho 79 and they'll ask you how many people in your party and you'll get seated immediately. The table is already stacked with a proper soup spoon that is deep to carry all the flavorful broth but also comes with a hook so it doesn't sink into the bowl like lost treasure. Chopsticks wrapped in paper also are loaded onto the table along with condiments of Hoisin, Sriracha, vinegar, and oil. Once you peruse the menu, notice the laughably low prices for everything which you will soon devour. Perhaps you'd like some classic Vietnamese Cha Gio, maybe you'll rock some Goi Cuon, me personally I enjoy the Tom Can Bot, shrimp wrapped then fried served with a side of nuoc mam (fermented fish sauce) to balance out your appetizer round. For you coffee fiends, Vietnamese coffee will become your new best friend. Since they make so much of it, and Asian cuisine tends to be similar mixes of ingredients with a high degree of customization, your Pho will be right out on your table in a matter of minutes. Once the basil, lime, and mint arrive, make no hesitation to drop these magic ingredients into your pho. Take extra attention to rip your herbs and dropping them into the bowl so you can activate the herbs. After this, get your Hoisin and Sriracha in to add even more flavor. $11.75 gets you enough Pho to probably last you two meals. If you want to go with a slightly healthier Pho, you can always skip the noodles in the dish and sip on the delicious broth and thin cuts of meat. You can also get a side of meat for $3-4 to keep you full. Ironically, Pho found widespread appeal from Vietnamese refugees bringing it to the United States in the aftermath of the Vietnam War. Sometimes I feel like a refugee and take solace in this wonderful restaurant nestled right next to FIU.
