Came on a Sunday closer to 5:30 it wasn't packed at all, got seated quickly . Found out that this place does have chicken and vegetarian broth even though the menu only shows beef broth. Located close to the turnpike easy access location right on May Ave. tucked away in a small shopping center. The food is great! Staff is nice and very friendly. Pho 54 is a solid Vietnamese restaurant. There are several things I liked and a few things I didn't like. Overall, I would recommend the restaurant. Pros: The restaurant looks great inside. Compared to other pho restaurants, Pho 54 looks the best. The steamed dumplings were delicious. The vegetables plate for the pho noodle soup was of good portion. The texture of pho noodles was the best. Service was also better. Cons: Hot tea was served in a cup and not a teapot. The pho broth was not savory. This is not to say that it's not good; it just wasn't rich and flavorful enough. I couldn't finish my bowl of pho. read more

Always give a place a second chance. My first experience here at least a year ago (or 2) was cold, unfriendly and the vermicelli bowl was stingy. Decided to try it today, and this time chose to sit at a table up front instead of those isolating booths in back. That made a lot of difference in warmth and ambiance. This is my favorite PHO restaurant in the area. I love their eggrolls, and I always other the vermicelli chicken. It is so good. I have also tried the different PHO that are available and all are absolutely delicious to me. Our family has also tried the fried rice and the different stir fry options and those are also really good. I highly recommend this restaurant the service is excellent. Last time I was here was pre covid. Been here a few times before that and they used to give you some much more meat in a large pho. Now they just pack it with noodles hoping to stuff you up. Other pho places in town didn't cut back like they did. Additionally, they don't offer a hot pot of tea anymore. On their menu they still have down $3 for the tea pot and $1 additional charge per extra cup for another person. They only will serve you a single cup of tea and will charge everyone $3 for how ever many single cups. Doesn't make sense to me and was not told beforehand. Suuuper generous with portions here! Was feeling a little under the weather and I ordered pho for the night because it's always comforting to come home to a bowl of pho. Was super surprised when I got home to fix my bowl up because the portions were absolutely massive. I had enough for the night and more for the next day! While the pho was huge and the ingredients were pretty fresh, I did wish their pho had just a little bit more spice and flavor to it. I think their broth needed just that little bit of oomph more to it. But for what you pay, you're getting a TON to go and a pretty good pho fix. The food is always hot and usually comes out fairly quick, but like every other restaurant since Covid, don't expect stellar service as staffing levels are challenging, like just about everywhere.
