This was my experiance with ValleyView RC they do not stand behind thier products and are quite…read morerude to work with. I am an engineer that rebuilds engines as a hobby so I know how to fasten bolts. See email thread below: Hi, I purchased the carbon fiber spinner below. On my first flight with the carbon fiber spinner all four prop bolts sheared off causing the spinner to over tighten which in turn caused the spinner to fail and ruining my brand new 22x10 valleyviewrc prop. After reading internet blogs it appears the bolt holes were incorrectly drilled causing the backplate to bind on the bolts which caused the backplate to not seat properly. Once the backplate warmed up it relaxed and caused the bolts to shear. I would like a new prop to replace the ruined one as for the spinner even if you were to replace it I would not use it I am sticking to aluminum spinners. Do you sell aluminum spinners in 3" size? Since TrueTurn stopped making spinners it is hard to find a good aluminum spinner. Best Regards, Bruce Hello Bruce, I appreciate what you have researched and decided what the problem is with your prop, spinner and prop bolts. Sorry to say that you are not correct with your conclusion. The only thing that will cause your prop bolts to shear off is the fact that they were not tight. We have had this many times and the only conclusion is bolts not tight. All the information about the backplate holes and binding on the bolts is just BS. If you cannot get the sheared bolts out of the prop hub we have replacement parts. Also you can order another spinner and prop but please this time tighten the prop bolts. The holes on the spinner are correct. Thank you Tom Valley View Service Hi Tom, I have been flying gas planes since 2003 I know how to tighten prop bolts they were each torqued to 60 inch pounds in incremennts top, botom, right and left repeat until they get to 60inch pounds. The only way this could happen is if the bolt holes were not correctly drilled causing the backplate to not seat properly. Interesting how you could make a diagnosis with out seeing the spinner and backplate. The backplate was very tight when I installed it but being the first time using cf I assumed this was normal. Regards, Bruce On Jul 10, 2023, at 1:24 PM, Thomas valleyviewrc response: Bruce, please don't insult my intelligence. If you actually believe that the holes were incorrectly drilled then tell me how did you put the backplate on? I try my best to help anyone in the hobby but people like you who made a mistake but won't admit it I don't have much use for. We have sold hundreds of spinners and you think yours was the only bad one? Please don't contact me again unless you want to admit the mistake you made. Tom This is how they respond to customers by insulting them !
