Fixed the fireplace at our rental. Needed to be done prior to sale and he was able to get out quickly. Great service.

Called Phil again this year to have our gas fireplace serviced before winter blew in. Still a solid 5 stars. Exemplary customer service even though this is the beginning of his busy time of the year. We were scheduled two days after I called. On the morning of, Phil texted and said he and his assistant could arrive earlier than anticipated. That was just fine with us. As in previous years, our fireplace was cleaned and inspected and the interior and exterior was vacuumed, the glass removed and cleaned as well. The work area was kept clean and drop cloths were laid over the hearth and nearby furniture. Our nosy cats had to be in the thick of things and that wasn't a problem for Phil either. When all was said and done, we had a sparkling gas fireplace ready to be used. Phil promised -and noted on the invoice- that he would return in the summer to respray the inside of the fireplace as an extra perk and to spruce it up a bit. Servicing costs are still very reasonable and fair. He told us to call him right away if we had any issues. Thanks again Phil I still highly recommend Phil's Fireplace Service in Beaverton. read more

Phil's Fireplace Service - So clean!! I didn't realize how much it needed service. - Fireplace Services Near Me - Beaverton, Oregon

Recently I was doing some house cleaning and went to clean the gas fireplace and to my discovery and my lack of maintenance the fireplace looked like it had not been done in years (well let's just say at least 15 ). Started YouTubing to do the work myself as I am very handy and capable but changed my mind and Yelpers guided me to Phil's. Called Phil and he answered right away, he was very pleasant to talk to and I felt a good vibe from him and engaged his services. Only a week until he could come out which was fine. Phil arrived a bit early which was not a problem, they went right to work and placed down moving blankets in the work area and as a synchronized team they went to work on this haunted mess. They turned the glass from a white foggy sheen to a clear I can see no glass at all. Cleaned the rocks, the log arranged the embers to a much more beautiful layout. The under carriage had so much dust build up I am ashamed of it ( sorry no pic I take the 5th). Top to bottom perfection and professional work, they did an outstanding job. Phil explained his cleaning warranty to me which was very clear. He also let me know my unit fan can run off a dimmer switch to control the fan speed (I have a spare it is happening today for sure). Do note they only take checks so I had to conjure up my check writing and skills and dust of the checkbook . I highly recommend Phil for this work it was totally worth the money. read more

He guarantees his work for a year and said I could call with any questions or concerns. He is a local small business and offers a wonderful service. I recommend Phil's Fireplace Services. Phil and his colleague worked very hard to repair my gas fireplace. He had to contact the manufacturer for a way to solve the issue, but the manufacturer did not respond. Phil and his coworker returned to spend many hours figuring out a way to replace a part deep in my gas fireplace. He did not charge me for many hours of labor, perhaps because there was a warranty from his past service. read more

I've had Phil Tran service my fireplace before a few years ago and so I had him return for another servicing of my fireplace. He always does a superb job of cleaning my fireplace and checking and maintaining the parts. He even went the extra mile to rearrange the logs and embers and even added some flakes to give the fireplace a new and different look. He does a fantastic job and I would use his service again and again! read more

Phil was able to repair our 20 year old gas fireplace despite there being no replacement parts. Phil is very professional, efficient, and respectful. He takes his own calls, makes his own schedule, and his work is high quality.

Our electric fireplace just stopped working. Phil was very responsive and not only fixed the problem but painted the inside of the fireplace just to make it look nice. He's had to come back a couple times when it stopped working again but he always calls to check in and make sure things are good and offers to come if there's any snafus along the way. I would highly recommend Phil's fireplace. read more

Fantastic service from Phil and his team. We have an older gas fireplace that just didn't seem to b e working well. Phil and his team came out tuned it up , cleaned the glass and gave me instructions on how to use it properly. Phil is all about customer service. I was almost going to get a new gas fireplace installed but after visiting several fireplace stores and talking to Phil I came to the conclusion that this Fireplace will do quite nicely for years to come. It may need a new valve which to my surprise can be replaced ( thanks Phil - other places told me it couldn't be replaced. ) Highly recommend Phil. Phil is highly skilled. I would give them more than five stars if I could. We arranged for a 3pm appointment on a Friday, but they called to let us know they were running behind and would be about 45 minutes late or so. When they arrived, we discovered that it's because they're definitely very thorough, paying attention to details and taking care to keep the area clean. They were able to quickly assess the issue was with the valve and unfortunately replacing it required a trip to the store. Since they already had our enclosed gas fireplace open, they took care of some other stuff provided as part of their service such as spray painting the interior (which looks great -- definitely do this). What really makes their service above and beyond for us though is that they were so compassionate and accommodating. When they said how they could come back on Monday with the part, we asked if it was something we could possibly pick up and install with help from YouTube without potentially killing ourselves, and explained how we had a sick 24 year old kitty we were hoping to let enjoy the fireplace a little because it was his favorite spot, and for it to be where we say goodbye to him. At first they said Sunday, but then looked over their schedule and promised to be out the next day. I brought my grandpa kitty down and they talked a bit to him, and also shared stories about their own pets. One of the guys whose name I'm completely blanking right now even showed me pics of his adorable dogs. He also assured me that the home euthanasia service we were planning to use for our kitty was absolutely who you want to use, something he unfortunately knew from experience. Everything about their service was considerate and efficient, and it was enjoyable conversing with them. As promised, Phil kept in contact with us and showed up the next day to get the part installed. He verified no gas was leaking afterward, pointed out there was an outlet underneath we could use for a fireplace fan (which we didn't even know was a thing) if we got it wired, and let us know about his fabulous warranty. Our fireplace looks nicer than ever, now has an adjustable flame, and the total also came to less than we were originally quoted. I really can't convey how grateful I am. Because of their hard work and kindness, my kitty was able to enjoy his favorite spot in front of the fireplace up until the very end. He was my fuzzy son since he was a kitten and we'd just lost another beloved kitty a week before in a distressing way without the chance to say goodbye, so I was incredibly worn out and hoping to have the fireplace ready for him. These guys made it possible and it meant so much to us at a difficult time. Wonderful people running a really good business and I can wholeheartedly recommend their service. read more

Phil responded quickly to my inquiry via text about a small leak to my gas fireplace pilot tube, and was able to squeeze me in about 4 days after we texted. He and his partner were quick, professional, and answered all questions without issue. He also makes it a point to say that even if your fireplace isn't made anymore, don't feel pressured into buying a whole new fireplace unless it's really what you want. This made me feel better about any upcoming repairs. My fireplace hasn't looked this good in awhile and I would absolutely use his services again. read more

Our fireplace was not working all the way, our pilot was on but no other gas was coming through. I found Phil through Yelp and scheduled a service to fix and clean our fireplace. Our fireplace has never been cleaned since it was installed in 2004. At first the price they quoted seemed a bit high being in the mid hundreds but I really didn't feel like searching for other fireplace services and plus these guys had great reviews. Fast forward, Phil and another employee came out Friday evening, even though they were a little late they called well in advance and gave notice which was very professional. During the entire time they were in the house they took extra care in all the details. - laid blankets down to protect floor - painted fireplace to make it look new - cleaned fireplace thoroughly - repaired and cleaned pilot and gas flow - cleaned glass! All and all they spent about 45 minutes on the fireplace and I can happily say that every penny was worth it! These guys are detailed, hard working, and extremely kind and humble. I would highly recommend their services and I will be using them in the future. Great job guys, I wish I had a "before" picture but I'll post the end result. read more

It was a snap to schedule with Phil and he arrived on time to our house. Phil quickly determined what was wrong with our gas fireplace and then cleaned, fixed and completely refreshed this unit. He was conscientious and made sure our wood floors were covered as he disassembled and the serviced our fireplace and cleaned up any debris that was in the area. The best part was that he explained what he was doing and how the unit worked. He answered all of my questions. His service was very affordable and he gave us a year warranted on the work that he did! Simply a great experience from start to finish. Thank you. read more

I was absolutely blow away with Phil's level of service and quality. BLOWN AWAY! He was incredibly friendly and helpful. He has a wealth of knowledge on fireplaces. I love detail, and had a lot of questions. He was happy to answer and asked several times if I had any more questions. You can tell that he loves what he does and is excited to share that with people to make sure they are supremely happy with the service and their fireplace. He said he treats all services like it is his fireplace. I could definitely tell that he does. And still does with enthusiasm after 20+ years doing it (I do ask a lot of questions). Said it's a centerpiece in your room and he wants to make sure it shines. And oh does it ever now. He explained in detail up front what he was going to do. He took out all of the pieces and spray painted the interior. The fireplace now looks new from the factory. Cleaned the pieces with care. The glass is crystal clear now. I'd be happy to sit and have a beer with Phil. What a great guy. Good job Phil! Thanks! read more

Phil is an independent businessman. He knows his stuff about fireplaces and inserts. He diagnosed our problem and came back the next day with the part. Phil was awesome! He had the gas fireplace up and running in one visit and spruced it up, made it look way better and functioning well. Another company recommended by NW Natural (who I will not name out of polite professionalism) looked at it first and gave me a huge repair quote of $1,300. Phil was able to fix it for waaaaay less and on the spot. Highly recommend Phil! Plus he's just nice to chat with! He knows his trade. read more

So impressive job! Came in on time no late. They are so good and detail once I notice they clean my fireplace glass. I just ask them come and replace thermal couple, but they clean up all dirt and glass of my fireplace, also swipe and vacuum dust inside the fireplace. Check burner and power couple times. 160 dollar works comes with warranty, which is so nice. Phil is a nice guy and taking responsibility from beginning till the end. Also put some moisture coating on fireplace wall. Highly recommend!! Amazing job, and I think it is the lowest labor rate since I call plenty fireplace company service. Around the 15th of March we asked this company to clean our inside fireplace and repair the pilot light to our outside fire pit. We had just replaced our carpet with a custom made carpet. Phil's assistant took hot parts out of the indoor fireplace and placed them on a tarp, on the carpet. The part burned through the tarp and the carpet. Even though Phil payed for a replacement carpet, it took 2 months to get it installed. We were constantly telling our visitors why we had a burn hole in our carpet throughout this time. Phil proceeded to check out the outside fire pit. He stated he would need to order and replace the pilot light assembly. On March 27th he texted that the part should be in on the following Tuesday. No communication until April 9th. At this time, he said he would be out on May 1st. He never showed up. We rescheduled for May 5th. He showed up and stated he ordered the wrong part and would get back to us when the new part arrived. On July 1st I texted him to find out the disposition of the part. No response. Today, 4 months later I reached out again. He stated he lost the part and that now we were to find the manufacturer and order the part ourself, disowning any responsibility of the problem. read more

Our fireplace was acting out. It would not always ignite even though the pilot was on, and if we left the gas run too long there would be a loud explosion. Clearly, it was dangerous and out of my league. I called Phil and he at first tried to help me trouble shoot it by phone so that it would save me the time and money of having him come. When that did not take care of the problem, he gave me an appointment for the next day. He came on time, was meticulous, and spend a great deal of time making sure the problem was resolved and that all the elements were completely clean. His price was very reasonable. Thank you Phil! read more

You can stop searching for a fireplace service company. You've found the company you should use. As others have written, I wish I could give Phil's company more than five stars! I'm originally from Hawaii so I know as much about gas fireplaces as I do about neurosurgery. Phil patiently gave me a tutorial on my fireplace and even suggested what product I could use to keep the glass shiny. From the look of the thick layer of dust that was at the bottom of the fireplace, it was evident that previous owners hadn't serviced it in years. Phil took care to spread a tarp on the floor, painted the inside of the fireplace, vacuumed all the dust, rearranged the logs and embers, checked for leaks and checked the integrity of the valves and pilot light. It took an hour and the service is well worth spending money on. My fireplace looks brand new! What's more, Phil is the nicest man and you want his company to be successful! Kind, friendly, professional and did I already say patient? If you call for an appointment and you don't hear back immediately, it's because he's popular. He will call you back within a day or two. It's worth waiting for his call. His work is guaranteed for a year. I'll be calling him next year for my annual service! read more

As many others have said, I would give them more than 5 stars if we could. I had no idea that our dated and rather ugly looking fireplace could look so beautiful if it were just cleaned! We are renters, but have a phenomenal landlord; they tried to reach several companies to repair our fireplace when we had issues with it continuing to go out after a few minutes. I looked on www.nextdoor.com and searched Fireplace repair, and Phil's had 4 reviews, all 5 stars. I wasn't sure exactly how to describe the issue, so I did my best and sent Phil a photo of the manual by text. I called first thing on a Monday morning, and he arrived right on time for our Thursday morning appointment. He was incredibly clean, and professional. He had a large blanket to put all of the parts on while he disassembled the fireplace to find the issue. When he pulled off the grates, I noticed how dirty they were and said "I should clean these instead of just sitting here watching you." He said "no, that's all part of our service. We treat your fireplace as if it were ours." I think that is really all anyone needs to know. To me customer service and professionalism means a lot, and Phil went the extra mile. Our fireplace simply needed a thermo-coupling, but to replace that, and completely clean and paint our fireplace, essentially making it brand new, we paid $202. That is absolutely wonderful for what we received. I would have thought JUST the service would have been over $200 but no. Phil kept my home clean and when he was done the only evidence was a perfectly working fireplace, which appeared brand new. He took everything out, cleaned every piece thoroughly, and then painted the entire inside of the fireplace; and cleaned the glass. I was shocked as to how easily he cleaned the glass, so he showed me the brand he used and why and told me to buy that and use it every once in awhile to clean. He said one bottle would last a lifetime, and there is no reason to call him to clean it when we can do it ourselves. He also recommended paint for the interior to do to spruce it up. Quite frankly, that showed more professionalism to me, as he is clearly a specialist in what he does and he could have said to call him each year to clean and service it, but instead he said "here you can do this yourself!" Last but not least, Phil told me that ALL of his work is guaranteed for a year. WOW. You just don't find a business that professional who also stands beside their work. I will recommend him to everyone I know! read more

I had to call twice for an appointment, but it was well worth it because Phil and his associate were the best! They were both wearing masks and kept their distance, which I appreciated because my mom is 80 with underlying health problems. They covered the carpet in the living room completely before taking any parts off the fireplace. No mess! You couldn't even tell they were here, except my fireplace is working properly now. It only needed to be cleaned and I am glad he was honest with me about that. He is slightly less expensive than some other fireplace repair places, but I will continue using his services because of his integrity and work ethic. I highly recommend Phil's Fireplace Service! read more
