I had heard good things about Whitey's and finally tried it on a Tuesday evening with some friends…read more We were seated quickly outside on the patio (closed and covered now, as it was 30ish degrees). It was brighter out there than in the main restaurant and made for nice seating. After perusing the menu, we went for the black n' bleu burger, the B.O.M.B. burger, the chipotle garden vegetable chili, and orders of fries and their jalapeño bottle caps. All were great! The mac and cheese on the BOMB burger was creamy and excellent, and my companions really enjoyed their burgers. The chili was awesome...I have been thinking about it since. The fries were fresh and hot (they needed salt, but good other than that), and the jalapeño bottle caps were the right amount of spice and came with a perfect cup of ranch for accompaniment. Their hot sauce is great too! Service was friendly and efficient as well. Burgers are a touch pricey considering they don't come with fries or anything and the place is cash only, but other than that no complaints. We will be back for sure. Thank you, Whitey's!

I will begin by saying I have always considered Whiteys one of the best burgers in Cleveland…read more Normally I really enjoy the burgers and it leaves me thinking about them for months thereafter. This experience was slightly different, and that may just be what I ordered.... My group ordered the Firecracker burgers, Maggy, side of fries and tots. Fries: delicious!! Hot and fresh cut. Its very hard to find a fry this good anymore. Tots: Also very good paired with the Whiteys hot sauce. Although, there is nothing very special about the tots. I assume they are frozen and simply reheated much unlike the fries. Burgers: It seemed to be the general theme that everyone thought their burgers were cooked just right. However the beef lacked any flavor or seasoning whatsoever. A little salt or pepper on the grill would've gone a long way here. I was disappointed as the beef is arguably the most important part. Mushrooms and onions: Also lacked any flavor whatsoever and needed some form of seasoning. Not sure if it was steaming in a crockpot all day, but it needed something more. Firecracker fried jalapeños: A complete hit and everyone thought they were fantastic. They need to add more of the special sauce also. Service was acceptable. Not many complaints or comments to be made there. Lighting was dark, and place wasn't very crowded for a Monday. Overall 6.8/10.

We live in the Pittsburgh area but my daughter is obsessed with Skyline so any time we are in Ohio,…read morewe see if there is one along our route. This one was easy to get to on and off the highway. There was plenty of parking in a plaza setting. The store itself was very clean and well kept. Staff was extremely friendly, efficient and helpful. Skyline has a basic menu, but some fun variations on their classic dish. Basically everything has their chili sauce (really, though, if you are going to a skyline why wouldn't you want it). They have the classics (the three way, four way and five way). They also have chili dogs and a fun and interesting "chillrito" which is their classic dish served as a burrito. We all got variations of the classic. The kids got the 3 way (chili, spaghetti and cheese), I got the four way (chili, spaghetti, onion and cheese) and my husband the 5 way (chili, spaghetti, onion, cheese and beans). It came out fairly quickly and our server gave us tons of extra oyster crackers when we asked for "a few extra since we don't get them that often" (seriously, they have the absolute best oyster crackers). Overall, a great chain and this was a wonderful location.

The food was fine. Interesting how the chili is slightly different than what most people typically…read moreeat, but not necessarily worse. Still, I prefer typical hormel like chili spices. The service here was good when I was there, but they were apologizing to some customers before me for the delayed service. I guess it gets really packed and busy here. Definitely worth a try, but the fries can probably be skipped. The chili is too wet and it will be basically soggy by the time you have your second bite. Stick to the coney and the spaghetti.

Incredible coffee. Friendliest staff. Fun events. Solid snacks. Great drink selection. Prime…read morelocation. -- so many good things to say about this place! Everyone needs to check it out! I love walking up Lock 29 to grab a drink to take along with me on my walks! Their parking lot is extremely difficult to deal with if there's some cars there, so I recommend parking down by all the shops & walking up! Easy access on the sidewalk, or you can cut off the trail like I do to get up there. It's worth the hassle!

A coffee shop that I can easily visit between hikes in a national park? Heck yes!…read more I stopped by the Peninsula Coffee House and Market during a weekend trip to Cuyahoga Valley National Park this year. I was lucky and snagged a parking space in front of the business; their parking is VERY limited and I'm surprised I didn't have to use a lot that was across a bridge. (Note that the bridge is right by the coffee shop, so it wouldn't have been a long trek at all.) I ordered a Butterscotch Latte and a Sausage, Biscuit & Egg breakfast sandwich; snagged a seat near the front of the store; and settled in for a relaxing break between my hikes. The coffee was excellent and the sandwich really hit the spot! While seating in the lower level is limited, I've learned reading other reviews that there is an outdoor patio and an upper level too. Their website mentions that they run a sundry market here too; however I didn't spend much time shopping in the interest of not stretching my wallet too far during my travels. I also didn't check out the wine cellar in the lower level. While this shop is little, it clearly has a lot to offer, and I am so glad I found it during my visit to Cuyahoga. I'd absolutely stop by again during future visits to the area...and I'd love to time my next visit so I can check out that wine cellar!
