I remember, as a 13-year-old, hating the same chicken parm buffer dinner with the lifeless potatoes and the tasteless green beans. So when my then-fiance suggested Auletto's as a possible wedding venue, I balked at the idea. It wasn't until we sat down with Jim Auletto, the owner, that I realized I had no way of appreciating Auletto's for a wedding from the lens and experience of a 13-year-old. We had our wedding here in January 2008, and it was such a memorable, beautiful, wonderful experience! From day 1 when we first sat down with Jim to the last few minutes in the space the night of our wedding, the staff had been so helpful. We had a lot of our own ideas that we wanted to bring to the table, and Jim has done a LOT of weddings there - he was able to lay it out for us what he's seen work and not work in the space. We brought in outside lighting, but decided to go with their preferred centerpiece floral vendor rather than taking on that task ourselves. Even their wedding cake vendor, Termini's, was fantastic. All we did was email them a picture of what we wanted and our cake type and frosting picks, and that was it. The space itself offers a really unique wedding experience, particularly when it comes to their wine cellar for the cocktail hour. Our guests raved about they ceremony overlooking Lake Almonesson in the Terrace Room, then heading downstairs to the wine cellar, and then back up on the other side to the fully decorated Grand Ballroom. It was a very neat series of transitions. I'm sure Auletto's is lovely in the spring and summer, particularly for outdoor weddings and with their new outdoor tented area, but the dark interiors with hints of japonnaise decor suited our winter wedding perfectly. I realize now, that when you're paying the big bucks for big ticket events like a wedding, the food is a LONG way away from the default booster association buffet options of middle school. The menu choices are many, and our tasting, as a result, was delicious. The night of the wedding, the food was impeccably prepared with generous portions, and the wine selections perfectly paired. We went with Filet Mignon, Chicken Savannah, and Sea Bass- my husband and I can speak for the filet (mouthwatering, buttery, HUGE), but our guests loved the other two options as well. Auletto's was also quite accommodating to any special dietary needs. The prices do vary by season; peak wedding months will certainly pay more. But since we were in the lowest-off-season wedding month, Jim threw in a lot of deals and extra upgrades to keep our business, making our wedding truly beautiful and memorable as a result. In fact, Jim made the whole wedding venue process so easy, it was the one part of our wedding we didn't have to devote much stress to - we knew we were in good hands. I definitely recommend this to other NJ brides and grooms looking for an elegant venue for their wedding.

I had a delicious tequila cocktail and we started with bread and sharp provolone, roasted peppers and garlic in oil. I had the mussels in white sauce they were absolutely delicious. For my entree, I had the shrimp Rizzo which was outstanding. My husband had the chicken parm. Everything was amazing and we had plenty of leftovers to bring home. Will definitely be back!

There was no understanding that my wife, son, and I would be sat at a table with a family that took up two tables, making the comments from the family very uncomfortable, as they talked about us behind our backs. I received a call from the restaurant confirming there were three in my party prior to Easter, and was never told we would be sitting with strangers. When we were first seated, the family opposed, my son and wife do not fare well when having to sit with strangers causing anxiety and a family dinner that was more moody and argumentitive than enjoyable. I would have normally given the restaurant a 5 star review, but to create a chaotic situation without notice is unforgivable. I cannot say enough nice things about the wait staff though. Even with all the complaints, they were pleasant and attentive.

I've enjoyed all of my lunch visits and really appreciate the owners kindness, friendly service and tasty sandwiches. If you're looking for a quick in and out, be patient or I would suggest ordering ahead. It's a husband and wife operation so they make their sandwiches one at a time. Their ready-made meals are in a warmer. So far I've tried their Italian hoagie - prosciutto, salami, capocollo, mortadella, provolone ..... Italian Chicken Parm Sandwich ..... Bresaola Hoagie - Beef Prosciutto, grana Padano cheese and a spring mix .... and the Porchetta Sandwich - sweet peppers, roasted pork and provolone cheese. They have all come lightly toasted on either seeded or unseeded Liscio's Tuscan no point rolls. In my humble option they've all been delicious. The portions aren't huge, but the quality of the ingredients are just right hence a little bit of a higher price than other hoagie places. Their espresso rotation of Essse Caffe (Bologna) and O'Ccaffe (outside of Rome) have been a nice treat for an extra pick me up. I've bought several different Italian cookies and treats for co-workers and staff. Most bags are around $4. They also have Italian water (San Pellegrino/Acqua Panna) and Italian sodas for sale. There is plenty of on street parking and they advertise catering options. Give these guys a visit instead of dumping your money into the big hoagie chain down the road! Thanks guys and see you soon!
